The Neverending Story Challenge - Pastel & Glitter

Då var vi igång med ett nytt challenge som går ut på att använda sina otestade lack som vi lacknördar verkar ha en förmåga att samla på oss en hel drös av.

Det finns två teman varje vecka som man kan välja att visa varför sig eller som en kombo eller om man vill göra bägge delar. Denna veckan har jag valt att kombinera glitter och pastell som är veckans två teman.

Lacken som stått länge och väntat i min låda är: Etude House Play #116 & #69 ett pistagegrönt pastell lack och ett färgglatt glitter lack i klar bas.

#69 som jag tycker går mer åt pistage än mint är ett väldigt snyggt lack, men det var då inte kul att måla med. Det visade upp alla dåliga sidor ett pastell lack möjligen kan ha. Det blev extremt strimmigt, det drog med sig färgen när man ville fixa till lite och för att få det att se vettigt ut fick man ta riktigt tjocka lager. Torktiden var rätt ok i alla fall. Visst med topplack på så blev det helt ok, men vissa naglar har två lager och vissa tre för att det blev kala fläckar som lös igenom. Så färgen får stor tumme upp från mig, men det lär finnas andra lack i liknande färger med bättre egenskaper.

#116 är ett glitterlack med klar bas och hexagoner i blandade ganska klara färger, dock inte neon. Kul glitterblandning, men igen ett lack som var helt omöjligt att jobba med. Basen är tjock och glittret var inte ens lätt att fiska upp ur flaskan. Och när man väl fått något på penseln så gick det inte att måla på det utan man fick liksom dutta dit dom på nageln med lite halvt våld. Synd igen för färgerna på glittren är härliga.

Så för att sammanfatta. Jag gillar verkligen hur den här manikyren ser ut, men det var inte kul att få dit den.

 

So it's time to start with a new challenge which goal is to use those untested polishes that polish nerds seem to have an ability to get a whole pile off.

There are two themes each week, you can choose to show them individually or as a combo or if you want to both. This week I have chosen to combine glitter and pastel that is this week's two themes.

The polishes that had been long waiting in my drawer are: Etude House Play #116 & #69 one is a pistage pastel and the other colorful glitter in a clear base.

# 69 which I think is more to the pistachio than the mint is a very nice polish, but it was not fun to paint with. It showed all the bad sides a pastel polish can possibly have. It was extremely streaky, if you tried to fix something the brush took the already painted color with it and to make it look even you had to take really thick layers. The drying time was ok anyway. A layer of topcoat made it look quite ok, but some nails have two layers and some three to cover bald spots that was shining through. So the color gets big thumbs up from me, but my guess is that you could find similar color from another brand that works better than this. 

# 116 is a glitter polish with clear base and hexagons in mixed pretty bright colors, not neon. I think this is a really fun Glitter mix, but again a paint that was completely impossible to work with. The base is thick and the glitter wasn't even easy to fish out of the bottle. And when you have got something on the brush it was not possible to paint it on the nail you had to dabb them on the nail with a little half-violence. Pity because again the colors of the glitters is lovely.

So to summarize. I really like how this manicure looks, but it was not fun to get it there.

Can you belive how fast a year passes by! Today is my birthday and since this is the third time while having a blog I guess you could call it a tradition for me to have a little birthday giveaway.

Smitten Polish - The First Lobster

Jag tycker vi rundar av arbetsveckan med ett fantastiskt vackert lack ifrån Smitten Polish.

Om jag minns rätt så vann jag det här i en giveaway för ett bra tag sedan och när jag inte kunde välja lack häromkvällen så kom sonen till undsättning genom att plocka upp The First Lobster ur min otestat låda.

Jag vet inte riktigt hur jag ska förklara färgen på The First Lobster. I grund och botten är det rött, men helt klart mer åt det korallaktiga hållet. Holoeffekten är riktigt bra och som vanligt så håller Smitten hög kvalité vad det gäller formula och torktid. Två lager som torkar snabbt är vad som krävs. Jag gillar ju dessutom penseln i dessa flaskorna.

På mig har hololack en tendens att chippa rätt fort och det gäller nästa alla märken så även Smitten tyvärr. Är det någon annan som också har det bekymret?

Jag kan bara konstatera att färgen på det här lacket är helt underbar och regnbågarna likaså. Allt som allt så är jag så himla glad att jag har det i min ägo.

 

Why not round off the working week with a stunningly beautiful polish from Smitten Polish.

If I remember correctly, I won this in a giveaway for a good while ago and when I (as usualy) had problem chosing polish the other night my son came to the rescue by picking up The First Lobster from my untested box.

I don't really know how to explain the color of The First Lobster. Basically, it's red, but clearly more to the coral-like way. The holo effect is really good and as usual Smitten Polish has high quality in terms of formulat and drying time. Two layers that dries quickly is what is required. And I really like the brush in these bottles.

On me holo polishes  has a tendency to chip pretty fast and it's the same with almost all brands so even Smitten unfortunately. Is there anyone else who has the same problem?

I can only conclude that the color of this polish is absolutely wonderful and the rainbows as well. All in all, I am so happy that I have it in my possession.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presentes - Travel #1

Månadens tema i The Nail Challenge Collaborative är Travel eller Resa och trots ett ämne som borde vara hur lätt som helst att komma på grejer till så står det faktiskt lite stilla i mitt huvud.

Som tur är så är det ju ok med ganska fri tolkning inom temorna så det jag har gjort idag är helt enkelt en manikyr med tanke på att åka till Jurassic World eller Jurassic Park för oss som faktiskt såg den första filmen när den kom på bio. För om det bara inte varit så att dinosaurierna verkar rymma och vissa verkar mindre trevliga så lockar tanken att få se en livs levande Diplodocus mig.

I botten har jag Smitten Polish Date Night jag har stämplat med Mentality Black Opaque och mönstret kommer från Bundle Monster no 611

This month theme in The Nail Challenge Collaborative is Travel and despite a subject that ought to be pretty easy to get inspiration for I still haven't come up with more than this idea!

Fortunately we are free to interpreting the theme pretty much as we want so what I've done today is a manicure made to wear when you go to Jurassic World or Jurassic Park for us who actually saw the first film when it came to the cinema. Because if it hasn't been that the dinosaurs seem to accommodate and some seem less pleasant the idea of seeing living Diplodocuses appeals to me. 

As the base I have Smitten Polish Date Night I have stamped with Mentality Black Opaque and the pattern comes from Bundle Monster No. 611

Colourful and fun I was I think of this manicure.

My Top 5 Teal Polishes

Nä jag vet att teal egentligen är en typ av grönt, men jag förvarar mina gröna lack och mina teal lack på två olika stället och konstaterade att jag bara måste göra en teal lista också.

Plus att eftersom det är en typ av grön så får det här bli mitt Grön Onsdag inlägg.

Det är inte så att jag har supermånga lack i den här kategorin, men det hade nog inte spelat så stor roll för det här var ganska lätt att välja bland faktiskt. Som vanligt så har jag valt lacken med hjärtat.

Jag är nyfiken på vilka färger ni mer skulle vilja se listor på. Kommentera gärna.

Well I know that Teal is a type of green but I store my green polishes in one drawer and my teal in another and I just realised that I had to do one list with teal as well.

Plus after all it is a type of green so that means that I can have this post as a contribution to Green Wednesday. 

It's not like I have a ton of teal polishes but I don't think it would have mattert that much because I found these polishes pretty easy to chose. And as usual I have chosen with my heart. 

I'm curious on what other colors you would like me to do lists on. Please comment. 

Jag börjar med ett lack som jag omöjligen kan visa i all sin skönhet på bild. Smitten Polish Glacial Spring är ett teal färgat glitterlack som alla som älskar teal borde ha i sin samling. Älskar den här typen av microglitter lack.

I start off with a polish that I don't know how to show in it's real beauty on pictures. This is Smitten Polish Glacial Spring a teal colored glitter polish that everyone who loves teal polishes should own. I totally love this type of microglitter polishes. 

Vad vore en lista med mina bästa teal lack utan Zoya Charla? Ingenting skulle jag vilja säga. Mitt första lack jag köpte från Zoya och fortfarande mitt absoluta favoritlack från märket. Faktiskt det lacket som gjorde att jag bara måste göra den här listan. Det här tröttnar jag nog aldrig på.

What would a list with my top teal polishes be without Zoya Charla? I would say absolutly nothing. This is my first Zoya polish that I bought and still my favorite from the brand. Actually the polish that was the reason that I felt I needed to do this list. I don't think I ever will get tired of this.

A-England är också ett återkommande märke på mina listor. Det här är A-England Proserpine ett av de nyare lacken från märket. Ett lite mörkare teal med holo. Helt ljuvligt och det här märket tillhör ju också ett av mina favoriter. Men det visste ni nog redan.

A-England is also a returning brand when it comes to my top 5 lists. This is A-England Proserpine one of the newer polishes from this brand. A bit darker teal than the others on the list and with holo. An amazing polish and as you probably already figured out this is also one of my favoriter brands. 

Jade Energy är ju inte det enda holot på listan, men regnbågarna i det här har dom andra svårt att mäta sig med. Dessutom en fin teal färg och trevlig formula. Man kan inte be om så mycket mer faktiskt.

Jade Energy is not the only holo on the list but cleary the strongest holo of them. And also a really nice teal color with a nice formula. You can't ask for much more than that. 

L.A Girl 3D Effect Teal Dimension hade nästan en lika säker plats på den här listan som Charla faktiskt. Tyvärr så tillverkas inte den här serien längre, vilket är mycket synd för alla lacken är helt underbara i den. Teal Dimension är också en något mörkare teal med hur mycket prismatiskt glitter som helst. En fröjd för gudarna på naglarna.

L.A Girl 3D Effect Teal Dimension had almost as safe spot on this list as Charla did. Unfortunatly this collection is no longer manufactured and that is such a shame because all of the polishes in it is amazing. This is a bit darker teal with lots and lots of prismatic glitter in it. Eye candy is all I can say about it. 

On the thumb Smitten Polish Glacial Spring and then Jade Energy, Zoya Charla, L.A Girl 3D Effect Teal Dimension and A-England Proserpine.

OPI - A Womans Prague-ative

Det kommer mer topplistor, men idag tänker jag visa er ett lack som det fullkomligt glöder om.

OPI A Womans Prauge-ative är från Euro-Centrale kollektionen som kom ut våren 2013 ett helt ljuvligt Bronze orange skimmerlack. Jag tyckte det var lite skirt så fyra lager blev det faktiskt. Men torktiden var ok så det går absolut att leva med. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

För mig är inte det här ett självklart lack i en vårkollektion, men glöden i det gör att det blir fantastiskt vackert i solen hela året om.

En färgtyp som ni nog redan vet är en av dom som jag trivs mycket bra i och gärna plockar fram. Jag gillar A Womans Prauge-ative väldigt mycket. Tyvärr så har jag inte varit i Prag ännu som namnet är inspirerat av, men jag skulle hemskt gärna vilja åka dit.

OPI A Womans Prauge-ative is from the Euro Centrale collection that came out in the spring 2013 and is an absolutely adorable Bronze orange shimmer polish. I thought it was a little sheer so I actually have four layers on. However, the drying time was ok so I can live with the many layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

For me this is not an obvious polish in a spring collection, but the glow in it makes it fantastically beautiful in the sun all year round.

A type of color on polishes that you probably already know is one of those that I feel very comfortable in and often feels like wearing. I like A Womans Prauge-ative very much. Unfortunately, I have not been to Prague yet as the name is inspired by, but I would love to go there.

My Top 5 Red Polishes

Att välja enbart fem röda lack till en topplista var svårt. Riktigt svårt kan jag säga, men jag gjorde det till slut.

Som vanligt så har jag valt med hjärtat och det betyder ju alltså att det kanske inte alltid är dom som är vackrast i samlingen som hamnar här, men dom som betyder mest och dom som jag oftast bär.

Rött är en favorit hos mig, men har du något rött favoritlack?

To chose only 5 red polishes for a toplist was hard. Really hard to be honest, but I did it at the end. 

As usually I have made my choices with my heart which means that it might not be the most beautiful ones from my collection but the once that means the most to me and that I'm wearing the most. 

Red is a big favorite for me, but do you have a favorite red polish?

So let's get started!

YSL Rouge Sublime, den här har varit med i ganska många poster vid det här laget. En väldigt klassisk röd kräm som jag älskar dels för färgen och så var det ju den här som min käre make tog med sig hem från Frankrike till mig. Mitt första lack av ett "finare" märke.

YSL Rouge Sublime a polish that I have included in quite a few post by now. A classic red creme that I love both for it's color but mostly because this was a gift from my husband that he bought to me in France.  My first polish from a "high-end" brand.

Zoya Blaze ytterligare ett lack från Ornate kollektionen som tagit sig in på en av mina topplistor. Ett mörkt rött, nästan lite hallonrött faktiskt med fantastiskt prismatiskt glitter i. Också ett av dom där lacken som jag gärna plockar fram när jag inte riktigt vet vad jag ska ta.

Zoya Blaze another polish from the Ornate collection that made it to one of my top lists. A dark red almost Raspberry polish with an amazing prismatic glitter. Also one of those polishes that I reach for when I have trouble deciding on what to wear.

China Glaze Ruby Pumps en riktigt klassiker vid det här laget och en välförtjänt en. Helt underbart glitterlack som funkar fint på egen hand eller lagt över svart. Ett av dom där lacken som man som lacknörd nästan måste ha i sin samling faktiskt.

China Glaze Ruby Pumps a real classic by now and a well deserved one as well. Totally awesome red glitterpolish that works great on it's own or layered over black. One of those polishes that almost is a must if you are a true polishnerd.

A-England Perceval det här är nog min första stora röda lackkärlek tror jag. Och det är ju inte så lustigt med tanke på hur helt fantastiskt vackert det här. Så alltså hade det här en självklar plats på den här listan och var också det första lacket jag plockade upp ur lådan.

A-England Perceval is probably my first real red polish love. And that is not so hard to understand. Just look at this bottle it's soo amazing. So of course Perceval had to be included in this list and was actually the first red I picked up from the drawer.

Nu till en av mina senare röda favoriter nämligen Smitten Polish Nose So Bright. Ett lack som jag visste att jag bara måste ha när jag såg swatcher på det och jag ångrar inte för en sekund att jag köpte det här. Mörkt rött holo med fantastisk formula. Bara helt perfekt alltså.

And now to one of my more recent red favorites namly Smitten Polish Nose So Bright. A polish that I know I had to have when I had seen swatches of it. And I don't regret buying this for one second. Dark red holo with an amazing formula. Simply perfect!

On the thumb Zoya Blaze, YSL Rouge Sublime, Smitten Polish Nose So Bright, A-England Perceval and China Glaze Ruby Pumps all without topcoat.

Reader's Choice - Glam Polish Tempestarii

Jag kan direkt erkänna att jag inte är direkt sugen på mörka lack just nu, men när man får på sig ett sånt här som ni valt åt mig så blir man ändå väldigt nöjd.

För vem kan låta bli att gilla en sån fantastisk glitterbomb som mörklila Tempestarii från Glam Polish är? Jag kan absolut inte. Dessutom är det en otroligt bra formula på det här lacket och på övriga som jag testat ifrån Glam Polish också. Två lager räcker. men det blir lite ojämn yta och jag har bara ett lager topplack på bilderna, men två är nog att rekommendera tycker jag.

Som sagt en mörk lila färg fullständigt packat med glitter vilket gör det här till ett perfekt sommarlack för ute i solen glittrar det här som en discoboll.

Som vanligt så är det slumpgeneratorn som valt ut lack till denna veckas omröstning, men jag kan redan nu avslöja att ni får vänta lite på att se resultatet. Nästa lördag har jag nämligen något helt annat planerat och jag tror nog ni kommer gilla det.

I can admit up front that I don't really feel like wearing dark polishes right now,  but when you wear things like the polish that you have chosen for you can't help but change your mind. 

Because it's really hard not to feel like wearing such a fabulous dark purple glitter bomb like Tempestarii from Glam Polish. I certinaly changed my mind as fast as I had painted the first layer on the first nail. Moreover, it's an incredibly good formula on this polish and also on the other that I tested from Glam Polish. Two layers is enough. but the surface gets a little bumpy and I have only one layer of topcoat on in the images. Two is recommend, I think.

As I said a dark purple color completely packed with glitter which makes this a perfect summer polish because when you are out in the sun it glitters like a disco ball.

As usual the random number generator has chosen polishes for you to vote for, but I can already say that you have to wait a bit to see the results. Next Saturday I have something else planned and I think you'll like it.

KB Shimmer - 24 Carrot Bold

Äntligen har sommaren kommer till Sverige! Och då är det väl läge att visa lite neon tycker jag.

Det här är KB Shimmer 24 Carrot Bold lagt över vitt och med svart som accentnaglar. Det blev kanske lite mer Halloween än sommarmanikyr, men svart och orange är ju så snyggt ihop. På bilderna är det två lager av 24 Carrot Bold över vitt, Rainbow Honey Nyx och så topplack på det.

Mina bilder visar inte på långa vägar hur underbart självlysande det här lacket verkligen är samtidigt som det faktiskt finns lite skimmer i det. Jag kommer ihåg att jag inte la det på vitt förra gången Då krävdes det ganska många lager, men neoneffekten var det ändå inget fel på.

Det här är verkligen lika orange som vägarbetarnas koner och jag älskar det!

At last we got som summer here in Sweden! And that means perfect weather for neon polishes.

This is KB Shimmer 24 Carrot Bold added over white and black as an accent nail. It might perhaps look a little more Halloween than summer manicure, but black and orange works so perfect together. In the pictures there are two layers of 24 Carrot Bold over white, Rainbow Honey Nyx and topcoat on top.

My pictures doesn't show nearly how wonderful luminous this polish really is while there also is a bit of shimmer in it. I remember that I didn't put it over white the last time I wore it and it took quite a lot of layers that way, but the neon effect was still going strong.

This really is as orange as road workers cones and I love it!

Smitten Polish - Date Night

Idag blir det ingen topp 5 lista, men det kommer fler och jag hoppas att ni gillar dom små listorna för det gör jag!

Jag hann inte fixa med någon igår så istället får ni ett helt galet härligt lack ifrån Smitten Polish istället.

Det här är Date Night ett riktigt knalligt rosa hololack. Kanske inte riktigt neon, men så nära man kan komma faktiskt. Det här lacket fick jag som kompensation ifrån Smitten för att mitt Va-Va-Voom hade tappat färgen och jag är så himla glad att jag har det här i min samling.

Smittens lack håller hög kvalité och det kan jag garantera att Noelie som är skaparen av märket även håller på sin kundservice. Jag tycker mycket om penslarna i dom här flaskorna. Lätta att skapa snygga kanter med.

Date Night täcker på tre lager och torkar fort. Och vilken färgexplosion det här är. Plus att det pryds av fina regnbågar. Ett alldeles perfekt sommarlack i mitt tycke. Och jag trivdes helt suveränt i det.

I didn't have time to do another list yesterday, so instead you get a amazing polish from Smitten Polish instead.

This is Date Night a real bright pink holo. Maybe not quite neon, but as close as you can get, actually. I received this polish as a compensation from Smitten because my Va-Va-Voom had lost it's original color and I'm so glad I have this in my collection.

Smitten polishes is of high quality and I can guarantee that Noelie who is the creator of the brand also keeps a really high quality on the customer service. I really like the brushes in these bottles. Easy to create great-looking edges with.

Date Night covers in three layers and dries quickly. And what color explosion this is. Plus it's adorned with fine rainbows. A truly perfect summer polish in my opinion. And I really enjoyed wearing this. 

Grön Onsdag - My Top 5 Green Polishes!

Vad kan passa bättre än att visa mina 5 favoriter av gröna lack på Karins Gröna Onsdag? Inte mycket!

Precis som på dom andra listorna så är det kanske inte alltid det allra vackraste lacken som faktiskt hamnar på dom här listorna. Ibland har man speciella känslor för ett speciellt lack som gör att man tycker om det mer än det som kanske egentligen är snyggare. Så här får ni dom fem som blandat är vackrast och blandat betyder mest för mig.

What could be better than to show my top 5 Green polishes on Karins Green Wednesday? Not Much!

Just like in the other two lists these polishes might not be the most beautiful polish in my stash but sometimes you have polishes that you have special feelings for and then that polish becomes the one that you like the most. Even thought there might be others that might appear more beautiful. 

So this is my top 5 mixed between beautiful and special.

Do you have any polishes that means something extra for you and why?

Först ut är Zoya Logan som är från samma kollektion som Zoya Aurora som jag hade med bland mina lila lack. Det här är bara helt ljuvligt och jag kan inte förstå att jag inte använder det oftare. En grön skönhet med massor av guld i.

First out is Zoya Logan that comes from the same collection as Aurora that was in my top 5 purple polishes. This one is just stunning and I can't understand why I don't wear this more often. A green beauty with a lots and lots of gold in it.

Det här är nog mitt absoluta favoritlack bland dom gröna. Det jag alltid kan lita på att jag älskar att bära och nog min första riktiga gröna lack kärlek. Jag har visat det här en del gånger och det är förstås China Glaze Agro jag snackar om. Också ganska mycket guld i. Ett lack jag kan bära hur ofta som helst utan att tröttna.

This is probably my absolute favorite of all the green polishes. The one that I always love wearing and I think my first real green polish love. I have shown this several times and it's of course China Glaze Agro that I'm talking about. A polish that also has a lot of gold in it. I can use this all the time and still don't get tired. 

En annan juvel i min gröna samling är Darling Diva Leprechaun's Gold. Klar bas med microglitter i grönt och guld (igen). Ett lack som tyvärr inte finns att köpa längre och därför valde jag att måla det över svart på swatchbilden. För att spara lite på flaskan. Det här är bara helt underbart glittrigt och fint.

Another gem i my collection is Darling Diva Leprechaun's Gold. A polish with a clear base that is packed with green and gold microglitter. A polish that unfortunatly no longer can be bought from Darling Diva. And that is why I chose to swatch over black on the swatchpicture. To save some. This is just amazing. It's so sparkly and beautiful. 

Liquid Sky Lacquer Margaritaville är kanske inte det vackraste lacket jag har bland gröna, men det var det första thermolacket som verkligen funkade som jag testade. Och ja, jag gillar verkligen färgen på det speciellt när man har lite längre naglar och tipparna nästan konstant är mörkare som en gradient. Ljuvligt!

Liquid Sky Lacquer Margaritaville might not be the most beautiful polish of all my greens but it was the first thermo I tried that really worked. And I do love the color too. Specially when you have a bit longer nails and the tip is dark green almost all the time so it looks like a gradient. Lovely!

Och nu till ett lack som jag fullkomligt älskar. Och det mest för att det är så starkt ihopkopplat med min älskade MG C. Lacket är från Butter London och heter British Racing Green samma namn som färgen på min bils lack har. Ett riktigt mörkt grönt lack med ett diskret skimmer i. Vet inte om jag älskar färgen eller namnet eller associationen mest eller om det är en kombo, men en stor plats i mitt lackhjärta har det i alla fall.

And now to a polish that I love soo much. And the main reason for that is that it makes me think of my beloved MG C. The polish is from Butter London and the name is British Racing Green the same name as the color of my car has. A really dark green polish with a discrete shimmer in. I don't know if I love the color, the name or the feelings that I get by this most or if it's simply a combo. But one thing is for sure that this has a big place in my polish heart.
