Jag har undvikit glitter ett tag för att det inte är så kul att ta bort när man har lagade naglar. Blir oftast att lagningen går upp och man får göra om hela proceduren, men nu när jag klippt ner dom så åker glitterflaskorna fram igen.

Lacket jag visar idag kommer från Depend 7 Days julkollektion season sparkle som jag misstänker går att få tag på fortfarande. Det heter Bedtime Stories och är ett svart lack med silverglitter i. Bra att måla med och två lager räcker för full täckning. På bilderna har jag topplack över.

Jag gillar verkligen den här typen av lack och det här var riktigt bra. Det jag gillar är att inte glittret drunknar i den svarta basen som tyvärr är ett vanligt problem annars med den här kombinationen. Om jag hade varit typen som bär den lilla svarta klänningen hade jag säkert använt det här lacket till den, nu är jag ju inte det, men det här passar till väldigt mycket enligt mig.

I have avoided glitterpolishes for a while because that it's not that fun to remove when you have repairs on your nails. Usually the repair opens up and you have to redo the whole thing, but now when I have cut them down my glitterbottles is ready to be used again. 

The polish I am showing today comes from Depend 7 Days Christmas collection season sparkle which I suspect I still pretty easy to get your hands on. This is Bedtime Stories a polish with a black base and silverglitter in it. It's easy to paint with and two layers is enough for full coverage. In the pictures I have topcoat over.

I really like this type of polish and this was really good. What I like is that the glitter doesn't drown in the black base which unfortunately,is a common problem otherwise with this combination. If I had been the type who wears the little black dress I had probably used this polish to go with it, but I'm not, but this fits to a lot of clothes according to me.

El Corazón - 893

Dags för Karins gröna onsdag igen och jag bidrar med ett skogsgrönt krämlack från El Corazón.

Det här lacket var riktigt skirt på första lagret, kändes som en jelly, men efter två lager så kändes det helt ok. Kanske kan behövas tre lager på längre naglar. Torktiden var bra. Det här torkade lite semimatt faktiskt så jag bestämde mig för att göra det helt matt vilket både var ett bra och ett dåligt beslut. Bra för att jag gillar matta lack, men dåligt för att det blev lite konstiga kanter och några små bubblor. Inget som jag såg förrän jag skulle fixa bilderna till det här inlägget. IRL ser det här riktigt bra ut.

Vad tycker jag om det här då? Jo, jag gillar färgen och jag tycker det är fint matt, men nästa gång blir det nog en glansig variant.

Time for Karin's Green Wednesday again and my contribution is with a forest green creme polish from El Corazón.

This polish was really sheer on the first layer it felt like a jelly, but after two coats it felt ok. Maybe you need three if you have longer nails. The drying time was good. This dried semi-matte, so I decided to make it completely matte, which was both a good and a bad decision. Good because I like the matte finish, but bad because it became a little weird around the edges at the cuticles and a few small bubbles. Nothing that I saw before I looked at the pictures though. IRL it looks really good.

What do I think about this, then? Well, I like the color and I think it's fine matte, but next time I will probably use a glossy topcoat. 

Glam Polish - Fangorn Forest

När man ska börja skolan så vill man ju förstås vara lite extra fin så därför satt jag och letade bland mina flaskor med oanvända lack och hittade den här lille snyggingen. För även om man vill vara fin så kanske man inte vill sticka ut alltför mycket redan första dagen.

Jag valde Glam Polish Fangorn Forest till mina naglar. Det här är ett grönt/tealfärgat glassfleck lack. Glam Polish gör bra lack och det här täcker på två lager. Torktiden var normal, men inte supersnabb. På bilderna har jag topplack över.

Det här är fantastiskt fint, ett lack som gör att jag känner mig fin. En sån där färg som passar både på korta och långa naglar och är speciell, men ändå inte en galen färg som sticker ut. Håll tummarna för mig att det kommer kännas bra för jag är nervös.

When it's your first day at school you want to have extra nice nails right? So I sat down and looked at my bottles of unused polishes and found this little hottie. Because even if you want to look nice, maybe you don't want to stand out too much the first day.

I chose Glam Polish Fangorn Forest for this purpose. This is a green or maybe a little teal colored glass fleck polish. Glam Polish has good quality polishes and this covers in two layers. The drying time was normal, but not super fast. In the pictures I have topcoat over.

This is an amazing polish, a coating that makes me feel beautiful. One of those colors that suit both on short and long nails and is special, but still not a crazy color that stands out really much. Please keep your fingers crossed for me, because I'm nervous. 

 

December Haul

December dök det upp en hel del nya lack till min samling. Dels så hade vi i födelsedagsgruppen hemlig tomte och sen hade ju min man och son ordnat adventskalender till mig också. Plus att det dök upp några Zoya lack som jag själv beställt. Nu i Januari så lär det bli skralt med nya lack, faktum är att jag inte tror att det kommer dyka upp något alls.

In December I got a lot of new polishes to my collection. Our Birthday Group had a Secret Santa and then my husband and son had made an Adventcalendar for me. Plus I got some Zoyas in the mail that I bought all by myself. January will be a lot calmer month when it comes to polishes. I actually don't think I will get any at all.

Men se där, jag hann fixa till ett inlägg till veckans läsarnas val innan vi styrde kosan mot Linköping.

Lacket som ni valde åt mig blev mitt första lack från Glisten & Glow jag skriver första lack eftersom jag ett bra tag nu använt deras topplack HK Girl som mitt favorittopplack, men jag har inte provat något annat tidigare. Det här är i alla fall ett lack som var med i Holo Hookup boxen som hade Cluedo tema. Det hörs nästan på namnet Mrs.Peacock In The Billiard Room.

Det här är ett blått holo på gränsen till teal. Mitt första möte med Glisten & Glow var ett trevligt ett. Två lager har jag och så lite HK Girl topplack på det. Torktiden var snabb.

Jag tycker verkligen mycket om det här, men jag blev inte kär och galen. Det känns inte superunikt, men som vi redan vet betyder ju inte det att det inte är vackert. Däremot tror jag minsann att jag börjar bli lite kräsen av mig.

Vi kör lite mainstream nästa vecka, så det blir tre olika OPI lack som ni får rösta på.

I found some time to make a scheduled post before we took our car and headed for Linköping.

The polish that you chose for me was my first polish from Glisten & Glow I write first polish because I have used their topcoat HK Girl as my number one topcoat for a while, but I have not tried anything else from the brand. This is anyway a polish that was part of the Holo Hookup box that had a Cluedo theme. I think you could guess that by the name Mrs.Peacock In The Billiard Room.

This is a blue holo on the border of teal. My first encounter with Glisten & Glow was a nice one. Two layers is what I have on and of course some HK Girl topcoat over. The drying time was fast.

I really think this is a beautiful polish, but I didn't fall madly in love whit it. It's not super unique, but we already know it doesn't mean that it is not beautiful. However, I believe indeed that I am getting a bit picky when it comes to holos.

Depend O2 - 508 & 513

Nej, det känns inte alls kul att visa denna manikyren! Inte för att det är något större fel på lacken, men jag har haft lagningar på tre naglar ett tag. Min ursprungliga plan var att låta dom vara lagade kanske en vecka till, men vi ska upp och hjälpa sonen att flytta och risken är ju att man förvärrar det hela om lagningarna går sönder för att man lyfter och fixar med saker så jag bestämde mig för att klippa ner istället. Gissa om det gjorde ont! Jag hade inte riktigt räknat med att det fortfarande skulle vara så långt ned att jag fick klippa precis på gränsen till där huden är. Så där kul, men nu är det gjort och jag vill ändå göra inlägg, för personer med korta naglar målar ju faktiskt också och det är väl bara att vänja sig.

Nog med självömkan nu till lacken. För det är faktiskt två lack. Dels det riktigt ljusa 508 som jag först trodde var ljust ljust rosa, men jag tycker mer det ser aprikosfärgat ut på nageln. Det var hur som helst bra att måla med och täcker på två lager. Sen gjorde jag en accentnagel med hjälp av 513 ett effektlack som ger nästan lite pärlemoraktig yta. Över alltihopa har jag topplack.

Jag tycker att 508 är riktigt trevligt. En färg som jag absolut kan tänka mig att återkomma till när naglarna växt till sig lite, men 513 lär inte bli använd så värst mycket mer. Jag gillar helt enkelt inte pärlemor. Sen kommer vi till den där eviga debatten om vad som passar på korta vs långa naglar och jag brukar hävda att det inte spelar någon roll, men jag får nog erkänna att jag tror det här skulle vara finare på längre naglar (eller åtminstonde jämnlånga och jämnformade...).

No, it doesn't feel good to show this manicure! Not that there is much wrong with the polishes, but I have had repairs on three of my nails for a while. My original plan was to let them be patched up for maybe a week more or so, but we are going to help our son move into a new appartment this weekend and the risk is that the repairs breaks even more while lifting and packing up and down things so I chose to cut them down instead. Guess if it hurts! I had not really expected that it would still be so far down that I cut right on the border where the skin is. Not that fun, but now it's done and I still want to do posts, people with short nails do paint there nails a lot too and I guess I just have to get used to it. 

Enough with the self-pity now to the polishes. Because there are actually two. The really light 508 which I first thought was a light light pink, but I think it looks more apricot when on the nail. It has a good formula and covers in two layers. Then I did an accent nail using 513 an effect polish that provides almost a little pearly surface. And to finish it I used a layer of topcoat. 

I think 508 is really nice. A color that I absolutely can think of using again, but 513 will probably not be used that much more. I simply don't like it. Then we come to that eternal debate about what suits short vs. long nails and I usually argue that it doesn't matter, but I must admit that I think this would be nicer on longer nails (or at least equally long and smooth shaped ...).

 

Depend O2 - 502 & 510

Är ni redo för lite vårlack? Ute har det äntligen kommit lite vinter här där jag bor, men det betyder ju inte att jag inte gillar att börja förbereda naglarna för våren. På mitt Instagram visade jag för ett tag sedan Depends nya vårkollektioner och nu är det också dags att visa några av lacken på naglarna.

Jag bestämde mig för att göra en mycket enkel nail art av två av lacken från Depend O2:s vårkollektion som heter Game, Set, Match. En kollektion med ganska många klassiska vårfärger i mitt tycke. De jag visar idag är två olika nyanser av lila. Vi har den mörkare med lite röd ton i som heter 502 och den mer lavendelfärgade som har nummer 510. Bägge var bra att jobba med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack över.

Bägge de här färgerna är sådana som jag gillar riktigt mycket. På vårkanten dras jag ofta till de ljusare lila som är mer åt syren eller lavendel och jag tycker att 510 absolut är en av de färgerna. Lila är ju en färg som jag tycker mycket om och 502 som är något mörkare är en sådan som jag tycker passar året om. Jag ger absolut tummen upp till de två första jag testat ur den här kollektionen som för övrigt bör finnas i butik någon gång under denna veckan.

Are you ready for some springpolishes? Where I live the winter has finally come with some snow, but that does not mean that I don't want to start preparing the nails for spring. On my Instagram I showed a photo of Depends new spring collections a while ago and now it's also time to show some of the polishes on the nails.

I decided to do a very simple nail art with two of the polishes from Depend O2's spring collection called Game, Set, Match. A collection with quite a few classic spring colors in my opinion. The ones I show today is two shades of purple. We have the darker with a little red tint in called 502 and the more lavender which has number 510. Both were great to work with and covers in two layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

Both these colors are ones that I really like a lot. In early spring I'm often drawn to the lighter purple shades like lilac or lavender and I think that 510 is certainly one of those colors. Purple is one of my favorite colors and 502 that are slightly darker is such a polish that I think fits the whole year round. I absolutely give my thumbs up to the first two that I tested from this collection which, incidentally, should be in stores sometime during this week.

 

Cirque - Lonesome George

Idag blir det en vad jag skulle vilja kalla för Indieklassiker här på bloggen. Cirque Lonesome George var nog rätt mångas lemmings när den kom ut 2013. Många bloggar visade upp den. 2013 började Indiemarknaden bli stor, men fortfarande så var många av oss ganska svältfödda på riktigt vackra holos så det här kom i rätt tid.

Själv blev jag inte ägare till denna skönhet förrän någon gång förra året via en blogsale. Lonesome George är ett skogsgrönt lack med en bra holoeffekt i. Formulan var riktigt bra och två lager räcker. Torktiden var mycket bra och som ni nog redan gissat så har jag topplack över på bilderna.

Det här är verkligen vackert och jag har inga problem att förstå varför alla ville ha det när det kom ut, men om det kommit ut nu 2017 så tror jag att många tyckt att jaha det var ju ett jättefint lack, men jag har redan liknande i min samling (om nu någon av oss lackgalningar faktiskt tänker så!) Alltså det är inte längre speciellt unikt, men fortfarande så himla fint och en värdig deltagare i Karins Gröna Onsdag så klart.


Today, you will get to see what I would call an Indie Classic here on the blog. Cirque Lonesome George was probably pretty manys lemming when it came out in 2013. It was shown on very many blogs. In 2013 the Indie market began to grow pretty big, but we were still many that was craving for more beautiful holos so this came at the right time.

Personally, I didn't become the owner of this beauty until sometime last year via a blog sale. Lonesome George is a forest green polish with a good holo in it. The formula was really good and two layers is enough. The drying time was very good and as you probably already guessed, I have a topcoat over in the pictures.

This is really beautiful and I have no problem understanding why everyone wanted it when it came out, but if it had come out now in 2017, I believe that many would have thought oh well it was a very nice one, but I already have so many green holos like that in my collection (if anyone of us polish nerd actually think like that!) what I mean to say is that it's no longer particularly unique, but still so very beautiful.

 

Lilypad Lacquer - Fire Me Up

Eldigt på naglarna kanske ni tänker när ni ser namnet på det här lacket från Lilypad Lacquer, men riktigt så eldigt som jag hade önskat tycker jag nog inte att det här lacket är. Namnet är Fire Me Up och färgen är en orange med väldigt mycket drag åt rosa och koppar, inte så där eldigt orange som man kan tro att det skulle vara.

Men även om man inte får vad förväntade sig i färg så får man det när det gäller egenskaper på lacket. Lilypad har inte gjort mig besviken när det gäller sånt tidigare (vad jag kan komma på i alla fall) och inte heller denna gången. Jag har två lager, men ett kan nog vara helt ok på kortare naglar. Torktiden är bra och jag har topplack över på bilderna.

Det här blev kanske inte en favorit, men det är fortfarande ett mycket fint lack och jag gillar verkligen holot i lacket. Jag misstänker dessutom att det här är ett sånt där lack som jag tycker bättre om imorgon än precis nu när jag nyss målat på det.

Fire on the nails you might think when you see the name of this polish from Lilypad Lacquer, but quite as fiery as I would have hoped is not what I got. The name of the polish is Fire Me Up and the color is an orange that leans a lot towards pink and copper. As I said not as fiery orange as you might think it would be.

But even if you don't get what expected in the color you do when it comes to properties of the polish. Lilypad has not disappointed me when it comes to stuff like that before (not that I can think of, anyway), nor this time. I have two layers, but one can probably be ok on shorter nails. The drying time is good and I have a topcoat over in the pictures.

This was perhaps not a favorite, but it's still a very nice polish and I really like the holo in it. I also suspect that this is one of those polishes that I like better tomorrow than just now when I have just painted with it.

 

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Winter #1

I januari så har vi temat Vinter i The Nail Challenge Collaborative, ganska passande för nu verkar faktiskt vintern kommit dit där jag bor. Snö och ordentlig kyla.

Min första manikyr på temat gjorde jag med gårdagens gråa lack som bas och har sen stämplat med mönster från ÜberChic Lovely Leaves plattan. Kanske inte den vanligaste färgskalan, men jag tycker att manikyren förmedlar lite vemod och är riktigt nöjd med hur resultatet blev.

In January we have Winter as the theme in The Nail Challenge Collaborative, quite suitable because it seems like the  winter finally has come to where I live. Snow and it's really cold outside. 

My first manicure on the theme is a one that I made with yesterday's gray polish as the base and have stamped with a pattern from the Uber Chic Lovely Leaves plate. Maybe not the most common color scheme, but I think the manicure shows some melancholy and is really happy with the way this manicure turned out.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes - Alex P. Keaton

Jag måste erkänna att jag aldrig följde Fem i Familjen med Michael J Fox, men det betyder ju inte att jag inte kan gilla ett lack som är uppkallat efter hans rollfigur ändå.

Alex P. Keaton är ett grått lack med svag holoeffekt och microglitter. Riktigt trevligt att jobba med, men något skirt så tre lager behövdes. Torktiden var dock riktigt bra. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Häromdagen när jag hade det royalblå lacket skrev jag att det var en färg som jag trivs väldigt bra i och detsamma gäller för den här typen av gråa lack. Det är inte världens mest upphetsande färg, men jag tycker den är trevlig och lagom diskret om man kanske vill ha något på naglarna, men ändå inte sticka ut alltför mycket. Jag gillar det blåa skimret väldigt mycket.

I must admit that I never followed Family Ties with Michael J. Fox, but that does not mean I that I wouldn't like a polish that is named after his character in that show.

Alex P. Keaton is a gray polish with a weak holoeffect and micro glitter. Really nice to work with, but a bit sheer so I needed three layers for coverage. The drying time was really good. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

The other day when I had the royalblue polish I wrote that it was a color that I really enjoy wearing and the same goes for this kind of gray hue. It's not the world's most exciting color, but I think it's nice and discreet enough to wear if you want something on the nails but still doesn't want to stand out too much. I like the blue shimmer in it really much. 

 

Reader's Choice - Dance Legend Rainbow Rose

Välkomna till årets första läsarnas val!

Nästa lördag vågar jag inte lova något inlägg då vi ska flytta sonen till ny lägenhet, men om jag hinner fixa innan jag åker så lär ni få veta resultatet av er röstning då.

Förra veckan blev det ett roligt lack från Dance Legend som vann. Rainbow Rose består av en klar bas med färgglada hexagoner i alla möjliga färger och mindre glitter i gult och vitt. Det var inga problem med att få glittret att sprida ut sig på nageln, men det var inte alltid man fick upp så mycket som jag ville på penseln så därför har jag två lager över El Corazón 423/271. Och topplack över.

Jag tycker att glittret funkade riktigt bra över det blåa baslacket, men jag är väldigt sugen på att testa att lägga det över ett vitt lack. Tror att färgerna på hexagonerna verkligen kommer att poppa upp då. Men jag gillar det här, det är ett sånt där glitter som är kul utan att bli helt galet.

Blåaktiga holon är vad ni får rösta på till nästa vecka.

Welcome to the first readers' choice of this year!

I wont promise you a post next Saturday because we will be helping our son move into a new appartment then. But I hope I will have time to write the post before we leave. 

Last week, it was a fun polish from Dance Legend that won the poll. Rainbow Rose is composed of a clear base with colorful hexagons in all sorts of colors and smaller glitter in yellow and white. There was no problem getting the glitter to spread out on the nail, but you don't get that much glitter when you dip the brush in the bottle so I have two layers of Rainbow Rose over El Corazón 423/271. And topcoat over.

I think the glitter worked really well over the blue base, but I'm very excited to try to put it over a white polish. I think the colors of the larger glitters will really pop up then. But I like it this way, it's one of those glitter that is fun without being crazy.

Bluish holos is what you can vote on for next week.

El Corazón - 423/271

Strålande vackert ute, men kallt, väldigt kallt! Jag hade tänkt att vänta med att städa ut julen tills efter helgen, men julgranen verkar tycka att jag hade fel för det fullkomligt rasar barr. 

Men nu till dagens lack som är ett mycket fint royalblått krämlack från El Corazón. Jag tror faktiskt det här var lacket som jag fick på julafton i min adventskalender, inte den som var nu utan året innan. Riktigt bra att jobba med och jag tror att man egentligen kan få det att täcka på ett lager, men jag har en ful lagning på en av naglarna som gör att det kräver lite mer färg för att täcka över den. Torktiden var bra och jag har topplack över på bilderna. 

Det här är helt klart en färg som tilltalar mig väldigt mycket. En som jag trivs bra i alldeles på egen hand och en som också är ganska enkel att använda som bas till olika nail arts. Faktum är att det här är min första manikyr på det nya året och jag tycker att jag började bra. 

It's beautiful outside, but cold, very cold! I was going to wait to clean out Christmas until after the weekend, but our Christmas tree seems to have other plans it kind of moves out by itself!

But now to today's polish a very fine royal blue creme polish from El Corazón. I actually think this was the polish that I got on Christmas Eve in my adventcalendar, not the one who was now but the year before. Really great to work with and I really think that you can get it to cover in one layer, but I have a nasty cut on nail that I had to repair and to cover that I needed two layers. The drying time was good and I have topcoat over in the photos.

This is clearly a color that appeals very much to me. One that I thrive in all by itself and one which is also quite easy to use as a base for various nail arts. In fact, this is my first manicure in the new year and I think I started well.
