Holofredag - Cirque Alter Ego

Det här lacket skulle jag egentligen visat när Edgy Polish hade sin julkalender, men det blev lite ändringar i schemat och jag har sparat lite på det här istället.

Tur var väl kanske det för nu får ju jag istället visa er Cirque Alter Ego på Skimmerskuggans holofredag och dessutom med solbilder. Det är ju aldrig fel.

Jag gillar ju verkligen svarta hololack eller så svarta som nu hololack blir i alla fall. Det här är absolut inget undantag. När lacket dessutom är smidigt att applicera och torkar fort så blir det extra trevligt tycker jag.

Två lager räcker utan problem för täckning. Jag har ett lager av Digital Flash över för lite extra glans också.

I mina ögon så är det här ett kanonlack. Snygg färg, fina regnbågar vad mer kan man önska?

Om ni är sugen på lack från Cirque så finns dom hos Edgy Polish. Just det här finns inte inne för tillfället, men många andra mycket fina färger.

This polish was supposed to be shown when Edgy Polish had its Christmas calendar, but there were some changes in the schedule and I've saved it for later instead. 

Maybe that was a lucky thing because now I can instead show you photos taken in the sun of this and also participate in Skimmerskuggans holofriday. And that is never wrong. 

I do really love black holos or as black as now holos gets anyway. This is absolutely no exception. When the polish is also easy to apply and dries quickly it will be extra nice according to me. 

Two layers is enough without problems for coverage. I have a stock of Digital Flash over for some extra shine too. 

In my eyes, this is a great polish. Nice color, nice rainbows what more could you want? 

If you're hungry for polishes from Cirque you could get them from Edgy Polish. Currently this color is not available, but many other very nice colors.

GOT Polish Challenge - Yellow

Denna torsdagen så är temat för GOT Polish Challenge gult. Jag har en del gula lack, men använder dom mest som grund till nailart då jag inte tycker direkt om att bära gult eller tycker att mina händer blir speciellt fina i det.

Lacket jag visar er idag är exakt ett år sedan jag visade sist. Jag har äldre gula lack, men kände att det här absolut kunde få komma fram ur lådan. Lacket heter Melodious Utopia och är ett av lacken ur Orlys Hope and Freedom kollektion som kom förra våren. En trevlig kollektion från ett märke som tyvärr inte är helt lätt att få tag på i Sverige. Synd för det finns mycket bra Orly lack.

Just det här lacket är lite sådär att lacka med, inget ovanligt för gula lack i och för sig. Det blir ganska strimmigt dom första lagren, men efter fyra lager och Digital Flash ovanpå så ser det riktigt hyggligt ut.

Det jag tycker är kul med det här är det rosa skimret som faktiskt finns i det. Kanske inte superframträdande på mina bilder, men i verkligheten syns det ganska väl faktiskt och gör det här lacket lite roligare än många andra gula tycker jag.

This Thursday the theme in GOT Polish Challenge is yellow/peach. I have some yellow polishes, but mostly use them as the basis for nailart since I don't directly enjoy wearing yellow or think that my hands looks especially nice in it.

The polish I'm showing you today is exactly a year ago since I showed last time. I have older yellow polishes, but felt that this certainly deserved to be shown again. The polish is called Melodious Utopia and is one of the polishes from Orly's Hope and Freedom collection that came out last spring. A nice collection from a brand which unfortunately is not all that easy to come by in Sweden. Too bad because they have a lot of nice colors. 

This polish however is a bit tricky to paint with, nothing unusual for yellow polishes. It gets pretty streaky the first few layers, but after four layers and Digital Flash on top it looks decent .

What I like about this polish and also what I think makes it different from other yellow polishes are the pink shimmer that actually is in it. Maybe not super prominent in my pictures, but in reality it can be seen quite well. I think that is what really makes this stand out from an ordinary polish to a fun one.

Pretty & Polished - April Showers

Dags att testa något nytt, nämligen färgskiftande lack.

Det här är Pretty & Polished April Showers ett lack som ser ganska ljusblått ut i flaskan, med lite glitter i. Ett ganska så skirt lack faktiskt. Det tog mig fyra lager innan jag var nöjd med resultatet. Fast att lacka med det var smidigt så dom fyra lagren var väl inte någon större katastrof. Glittren följde med upp ur flaskan lätt också och det är alltid positivt när det kommer till glitterlack.

Hur är det då med det där att det ska ändra färg? I beskrivningen står det att det ska bli vitt när det är varmt. Vitt är väl kanske att ta i tycker jag, men det blir riktigt ljust, ljust blått. Dock tyckte jag att det tog ganska mycket varmvatten för att få det att skifta och det skiftade snabbt tillbaka igen.

Alltså, jag gillar idén och nu ska jag ju i ärlighetens namn säga att det var inte en speciellt varm dag när jag målade med det här vilket säkert påverkar hur fort det ändrar färg. Jo, jag är absolut villig att testa igen.

Time to try something new, namely, color changing polish.

This is Pretty & Polished April Showers a polish that looks light blue in the bottle, with a little glitter in. A pretty sheer polish actually. It took me four layers before I was satisfied with the result. But the polish was very nice to apply so the four layers was not any major disaster. The glitters was also easy to get to follow up on the brush from the bottle and it's always positive when it comes to glitter polishes.

How about changing color then? In the description it says that it will be white when it's hot. White is perhaps ot exactly how I would describe it, but it gets really bright, bright blue. However, I thought that it took quite a lot of hot water to get it to shift and it shifted quickly back again.

I really like the idea of color changing polishes. I think it's fun and I can honestly say that it was not a particularly hot day when I painted with this which certainly affects how fast it changes color. Well, I'm certainly willing to try again .

Det är inte så värst vanligt att ni får se vattendekaler här hos mig, synd för jösses vad mycket kul det finns som man kan göra med sådana och vad massa fina det finns!

Idag ska jag i alla fall visa er lite blommor som jag fått från Born Pretty Store för att recensera. Hur gör man då när man använder den här typen av dekaler? Jo, nu skulle jag ju förstås haft lite foton, men det glömde jag så det får ni vid nästa tillfälle, men i alla fall så sitter alla blommorna på ett helt ark. Man plockar bort den övre skyddsplasten, klipper ut dom dekalerna man vill ha. Gärna så mönsternära som möjligt och lägger sen den lilla dekalen i lite varmt vatten. Efter bara ca 20 sekunder så går själva blomman att ta bort från pappret. Den är då väldigt följsam och går lätt att placera på nageln och även att flytta runt lite om man gör det försiktigt. 

Jag tycker att dom här var väldigt lättarbetade. Det var lätt att få dom att släppa från pappret och även att få dom att följa nageln snyggt. Tycker att det blev lite Hawaii känsla över manikyren faktiskt. 

Jag har fler dekaler och även lite stenar att recensera vid ett senare tillfälle och det ser jag fram emot, för det här var ju riktigt kul!

It's not very common that you will see water decals in my manicures, that is to bad because it's actually great fun to use them and you can do so much fun and nice stuff with them.

How do you do when you use this type of decals? Well, I should of had some photos, but I forgot so I will take some at the next opportunity, but in all cases, the flowers sits on a paper sheet. You take off the top protective plastic, cut the decals you want out. As close to the pattern as possible and then put the little sticker in some warm water. After only about 20 seconds the actual flower is ready to be removed from the paper. It's then very flexible and can easily be placed on the nail and you can also move around it a bit if you do it gently.

My judgment of these are that they are very easy to work with. It was easy to get them to drop off the paper and also to get them to follow the nail nicely. This turned out a bit Hawaiian style actually.

I have more decals and even little stones to review at a later time and I'm looking forward to, for this was really fun!

Depend 390

Insåg att det var alldeles för länge sedan jag visade något från Depend här hos mig så det får det bli ändring på idag.

Dagens Depend lack heter 390 och kommer från årets vårkollektion. En kollektion som har en hel del fina lack tycker jag. Just det här lacket är sådär härligt nygräsgrönt. Bra ord va! Jag har en tendens att fall för den här typen av gröna och detta är absolut inget undantag.

Jag tycker väldigt mycket om färgen. Dessutom är lacket väldigt smidigt att jobba med och täcker på två lager. Jag måste ju säga att även om flaskorna är små och korken kanske är i minsta laget att hålla i så är penslen mycket bra i Depend flaskorna. Och sånt gillas alltid.

Ingen topcoat på bilderna. Glansigt, fint och ganska jämt ändå. Ytterligare ett plus i kanten.

I realised that it was way to long since I showed a polish from Depend here, so that is what I have for you today. 

The polish is called 390 and is one of the spring colors from Depend. A spring collection that I think is a really good one. This polish is in a color that reminds me of the first grass that you'll see in the spring time. I have a tendency to fall for this kind of color and this is no exeption. 

I like this color very much. And the polish is nice to paint with, covers in two layers.  Even if the bottles are small and the cork probably would have been nicer to hold on to while painting the brushes in these polishes are very very nice. That is always a big plus in my mind. 

I have no topcoat in the pictures the polish is glossy, beautiful and even as it is!

Nailart Sunday - Avalon Stars

En härligt slö söndag ligger framför mig idag. Ska försöka fota lite lack, men annars är det inte mycket som är inplanerat.

Idag är också andra dagen den här veckan när jag visar riktigt redigerade foton eller foto för er. Jag kom på en manikyr som jag så gärna ville göra och som jag var ganska så säker på skulle bli bra. Och det blev den också. Riktigt bra till och med.

Det jag gjorde var att grunda med A-England Avalon ett mycket vackert lila lack och sen tog jag fram ännu en MoYou London platta som jag valde mönster från och stämplade med silvriga A-England Excalibur.

Varför redigera då? Jo, ni får tycka att jag är tjatig, men ännu ett lila lack som absolut inte är färgkorrekt på fotona hur jag än ställer in kameran, så då får det bli lite fixning i efterhand. Och jag vill inte visa bilder där färgerna är helt åt pipsvängen. Jag tycker att det känns bäst att tala om när jag faktiskt har gjort färgkorrigeringar.

Resultatet är en kul manikyr där många trodde att jag först målat lila, stämplat silvriga ränder och sen stämplat på stjärnan, men så är det inte utan mönstret är helt enkelt ränder med utstansat så att stjärnan ska vara i basfärgen. Kul tycker jag och detta är då även mitt bidrag till Nailart Sunday.

It's Sunday and I have nothing planned at all. Maybe I will swatch some polishes and maybe I will do absolutely nothing. We'll see. 

Today is the second day this week that I show you edited photos. In my mind I came up with a manicure that I really wanted to do. And that I was sure of would be neat. And it did turn out good. Actually even great.

What I did was that I painted my nails with A-England Avalon a stunning purple shimmer and took out a MoYou London plate that had a pattern I wanted to use. Then I stamped the pattern with A-England Exaclibur a silver polish. 

Why are the edited then? Well, you might think that I'm wining, but this is another purple polish that is totally impossible to get to show correctly on photos. Belive me, I've tried with every kind of setting on the camera I could think of. And I don't want to show pictures that isn't accurate. I also think it feels best to tell when I've done something except cutting the pictures. 

So this is the result of a manicure that people thought that I had first painted purple then stamped silver lines and then stamped the purple star, but that is not the case. The pattern on the plate leaves a star of the basecolor to show. This is also my contribution to this weeks Nailart Sunday. 

Läsarnas Val / Readers Choice - Treasures By Tan After Shock

Idag blir det ordentligt rosa i Läsarnas Val. Lacket som ni valde utan större konkurrens av dom andra är Treasures By Tan After Shock.

Det här är ett helt nytt märke för mig och jag tycker det är lika roligt varje gång man ska testa nytt. Formulan på det här var jättebra, det var lättmålat och täcker på tre lager. Däremot var det seg torktid på det, men det går ju alltid att åtgärda med snabbtorkande överlack. Dock har jag inget överlack på bilderna.

Lacket är riktigt knalligt rosa, kanske inte riktigt min färg, men ändå lite kul tycker jag nog. Jag hade dessutom lite tur när jag swatchade det här för solen tittade fram så ni får se dom fina regnbågarna som finns i lacket. För det är en väldigt fin holoeffekt i det.

Mitt omdöme är att lacket är fint, inte något som jag väljer att bära så ofta, men absolut ett märke som jag kan tänka mig att testa fler lack av.

Today you get a very pink polish in Readers' Choice. The polish that you chose without much competition from the others is Treasures By Tan After Shock.

This is an entirely new brand for me and I think it's as just as fun every time I get to try a new brand. The formula on this was great, it was easy to apply and covered in three layers. However, it was a tough drying time on it, but that can always be fixed with quick dry top coat. However, I have no top coat in the pictures.

The polish is really bright pink, maybe not really my color, but still a little fun I think. I also had some luck when I swatched it because the sun came out so you get to see the nice rainbows in the polish. For it is a very nice holo in it.

My opinion is that the polish is nice, not something I choose to wear so often, but certainly a brand that I would like to try polishes from again.

Holofredag - A-England Briarwood

Fredag igen och jag är med på Skimmerskuggans Holofredag med ett lack från A-England som fick mig att tappa hakan lite grann faktiskt.

A-England Briarwood är bara otroligt vackert! Ett hm, hur ska jag förklara vinrött/brunt holo som är vampigt och stilfullt på samma gång. Jag är sjukt imponerad kan jag ju säga.

Jag upplevde det här som aningen rinnigt, vilket jag tycker är lite märkligt för det brukar aldrig A-England lacken vara i mitt tycke. Eller var det så att jag inte torkade av naglarna tillräckligt mycket efter att ha tagit bort föregående lack. Dom var liksom lite blöta i kanterna. Dumt av mig.

I alla fall så är det inga problem med att få det här att täcka på två lager och torktiden, ja den är bra. Jag har ett lager av Digital Flash över också. Och som ni ser så tittade solen fram så jag kunde få lite härliga bilder också.

It's Friday again and I'm participating in Skimmerskuggans holofriday. A nice Swedish blog tradition. The polish I show you today made my jaws drop actually.

A-England Briarwood is so amazingly beautiful! A burgundy/brownish polish that is both vampy and classy at the same time in my opinion. I'm soo impressed by this.

I felt that it was a bit runny, which surprised me a bit because I haven't experiensed that with other A-England polishes. Or it could be that my nails was still a bit wet out in the cuticles due to the reason that I removed another polish and didn't dry my hands properly. Stupid of me!

Anyway this covers without any problems in two layers and dries quickly as well. I have a layer of Digital Flash over too. And as you can see the sun came out so I could get really nice pictures of it. 

GOT Polish Challenge - Ruffle

Jag visste inte vad en Ruffle manikyr var för något. För just Ruffle är temat för dagens GOT Polish Challenge, så jag fick googla lite grann. 

När jag väl insåg vad det är för något insåg jag ju också att det här är perfekt för just det här temat, för här kan man ju få med ett helt gäng lite äldre lack i en och samma manikyr. Det går helt enkelt ut på att du tar en radda med lack, ett dottingtool och så börjar du med att göra en hel rad av sammanhängade prickar och upprepar sen det här med nästa färg så att dom olika färgerna hänger ihop, men blir lite vågiga liksom.

Låter det svårt? Det är det inte. Roligare än vad jag förväntat mig faktiskt. Vad använde jag mig av för lack då? Jo, dom här blev det från det som är längst ned ut till nagelkanten: China Glaze Aquadeliq, China Glaze Sweet Hook, China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint, Zoya Evvie, Zoya Natty, China Glaze Pelican Grey och sist Zoya Robyn. 

Alla dom här är absolut äldre än 1 år och alla är använda 1 eller fler gånger. Jag är inte riktigt nöjd med färgen på dom två Zoya lacken i mitten skulle nog hållit mig till mer pastelliga lack genom hela, men så här fick det bli i alla fall. 

I didn't know what a Ruffle manicure was. Ruffle is the theme for today's GOT Polish Challenge, so I had to google a bit.

Once I realized what it was I realized of course, that this is perfect nailart for this particular theme,  because you get to use a whole bunch of your older polishes in one manicure. It's as simple as this. You take some bottles of polish, a dottingtool and then you start by making a series of coherent dots and then repeat this with the next color so that the different colors connected, but becomes a bit wavy as well.

Does that sound difficult? It's not. More fun than I expected actually. What polishes did I use then? Well, they are, from the bottom of the nail till the nails edge: China Glaze Aquadeliq, China Glaze Sweet Hook, China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint, Zoya Evvie, Zoya Natty, China Glaze Pelican Grey and finally Zoya Robyn.

All those are definitely older than 1 year and everyone has been used one or several times before. I'm not really happy with the color of the two Zoya polishes in the middle. I should probably kept the pastel theme throughout, but this is how it turned out.

Review of OMG Nailstrips

Idag så har jag Nailstrips från OMG att visa er. Det här är faktiskt första gången som jag testar dekaler som täcker hela nageln.

Vad tyckte jag om det här då?

Nageln ska vara rengjord och torr när man börjar applicera dom här. Det är bra om man tagit loss 10 passande innan man börjar och eventuellt klippt till dom lite grann också då jag tyckte att dom var alldeles för stora i storleken och då har jag ändå inte speciellt smala naglar. Men visst, det går ju ganska lätt att åtgärda med en sax. För att försöka fixa till i efterhand var inte att rekommendera.

Man får vara ganska lätt på handen, för själva dekalen är ganska tunn och blir lite fladdrig när man tagit bort skyddsplasten. Däremot så var det lätt att få dom på plats och visst någon blev lite skrynklig, men det hade absolut inget med dekalen i sig att göra utan jag skyller nog mer på handhavande fel.

I instruktionen står att man ska fila bort den delen som sticker ut utanför nageln när man fäst dom, men det går också bra att liksom smälta bort dom med en tops doppad i aceton. Själv föredra jag aceton metoden då jag tycker det blev en snyggare kant då.

Dom sitter bra och då hårdtestade jag ändå rätt bra, med badrumsstädning och matlagning med en hel del grönsakssköljning. Däremot så upplevde jag att dom hade krympt en aning dag två.

Vad tycker jag om det här då? För min egen del kommer det kanske inte användas så mycket liknande produkter, men om du inte är van vid att måla naglarna eller vill ha en kul nailart utan att känna att man kan fixa en själv så är dom här perfekta till en festkväll. Det finns många roliga mönster och som sagt appliceringen var smidig.

Today I have Nailstips from OMG Nailstrips to show you. This is actually the first time I tested decals that cover the entire nail.

So how was it use them then?

The nails should be clean and dry when you begin to apply these. It's good if you have removed the 10 strips you are going to use from the package before starting and possibly trimed  them a little bit too because I thought they were way too big in size and I still don't have particularly narrow nails. But yes, it's of course quite easy to fix with a pair of scissors. To try and fix afterwards was not recommended.

You need to be easy on the hand, for the actual decal is pretty thin and become a little flaccid when you removed the protective plastic. However, it was easy to get them in place and sure someone got a little wrinkled, but that had absolutely nothing to do with the decal itself it probably had more to do with the one who applied it.

The instruction is that you should use your nailfile to take off the part that sticks out beyond the nail when you attached them, but it is also possible to melt them away with a q-tip dipped in acetone. I prefer the acetone method, because I think it became a neater edge then.

They lasted pretty long on the nail and I did put them through both bathroom cleaning without gloves, cooking with a lot of vegetable rinse. However, I experienced that they had shrunk slightly on day two.

What do I think about this then? For my own part, I probably wont use this kind of product that much, but if you are not accustomed to paint your nails or want a fun nail art without feeling that you can fix one yourself this is the perfect choice for a party evening. There are many fun patterns and as I said the application was smooth.
