January Haul

Då var det dags att visa Januari månads inköp. En rätt så lugn månad kan jag nog tycka, men lite godingar har jag ändå lyckats införskaffa.

Bland annat det där lacket som alla hade så stora förväntningar på, men många blev grymt besvikna på. Jo, jag tänker på Essies remake av Starry Starry Night.

It's time to show you my January haul. A pretty calm month, but there has been some new editions to my collection. 

Among the newest are the polish that we all had so high expectiations on and so many of us became so disappointed.

Det blev visst lite tyst några dagar här. Har ägnat mig åt att städa och adventspynta vårt hus, vara barnvakt och fikat hos bästa grannarna, men nu är jag tillbaka och jag ser fram emot December med en massa nailart.

Jag vågar inte lova att det blir läsarnas val varje lördag i December, men jag ska göra så gott jag kan i alla fall. 

Idag blir det sista inlägget med monochrome manikyr och jag har valt att göra en med två olika nyanser av grönt. Tja, det känns ju liksom inte så vintrigt därute så då kan jag ju lika gärna köra på vårfärger. Eller hur?

Jag har använt mig av Orly Green Apple och China Glaze Starboard. Mönstret har jag fått fram med hjälp av nailvinlys. Fråga mig inte vilket märke, för det vet jag faktiskt inte. Det blev lite kladdigt då jag förmodligen inte väntade länge nog för att topplacket skulle torka innan jag satte på vinylen, men jag tycker det blev en häftig effekt och snygga färger ihop.

It got a little quiet in here for a few days. I have devoted myself to clean the house and make it cosy for the 1st of Advent, been babysitting and went to our neighbors for a very nice coffe. But I'm back again and I'm looking forward to December with a lot of nail art.

I dare not promise that it will be a readers' choice every Saturday in December, but I'll do the best I can in any case.

Today will be the last post with a monochrome manicure and I have chosen to do one with two different shades of green. Well, it doesn't really feel like not winter outside, so why not use some spring colors. 

I have used Orly Green Apple and China Glaze Starboard. The pattern has been made using nailvinlys. Don't ask me which brand, because I honestly don't know. It got a bit messy because I probably didn't wait long enough for the topcoat to dry before applying the vinyl but I think it did turn out as a cool effect and the colors work very well together.

September & October Haul!

Dags att visa lite flaskbilder igen. Förra gången var i Augusti och då skrev jag att jag hade en del på väg hem.

Det jag visar idag är inte riktigt alla för en del är redan visade på bloggen och dom har nog inte kommit med här tror jag.

Däremot är det rätt lugnt på inköpsfronten just nu. Jag har ett på väg hem, men det är allt faktiskt. Om jag inte lyckas få tag på en Secret Santa Sack, men eftersom den släpps mitt i natten lär jag inte lyckas med det.

Nåväl nu till alla fina som står och väntar på att bli använda.

Time to show you my latest haul again. Last time was in August and at that point I wrote that I had a whole bunch on the way.

What I'm going to show you today is that bunch minus a few that I already shown swatches of. 

In fact I don't have much incoming though. One bottle that I know of and maybe if I get lucky I will get a Secret Santa Sack, but those will be released in the middle of the night so I guess they will be gone when I wake up.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents - Jewelry #1

Den här månaden har vi Jewelry eller smycken som tema i The Nail Challenge Collaborative. Jag använder inte så värst mycket smycken och har inte riktigt koll på vad som är inne, så jag tycker nog ämnet är lite knepigt.

Men ett smycke, för jag väljer att kalla det för det, som jag använder väldigt mycket är mitt armband som jag köpt från Ung Cancer för att stödja den organisationen. Något som jag tycker är mycket viktigt.

Så på ett sätt så blir ju det här också ett bidrag till att stödja dom genom att göra en skittle inspirerad av mitt Fuck Cancer armband.

This month the theme in The Nail Challenge Collaborative is Jewelry. I don't use that much jewelry and has no clue on what is popular right now, so I think it was a bit tricky subject. 

But there is one jewelry because I just decided that you could call it that I'm using all the time. And that is a bracelet that I bought from an organisation called Ung Cancer. It is an organisation for Young Adults with cancer. They sell these bracelets to raise both money and awarenes. 

This is a very important subject for me so it feels good to do a manicure even if it is a simple skittle to show them som support.

Orly - Ablaze

Det här var en liten rackare att försöka fånga på foto måste jag säga. För hur jag än gör så lyckas jag inte riktigt få fram hur härligt nästan självlysande Orly Ablaze faktiskt är.

Fast äkta neon vågar jag inte påstå för det torkar inte matt. Lacket är i alla fall riktigt skarpt orange med guldskimmer i.

Jag har tre lager utan topplack på bilderna och även om det inte syns hur illande orange det här faktiskt är så tycker jag ändå att det syns att det är snyggt. Det torkade fort och var trevligt att måla med.

Jag blir glad av sådana här färger och det lilla fina guldskimret i Ablaze gör faktiskt ganska mycket för att lacket ska bli lite mer unikt än ett vanligt neon lack.

 

This was really tricky to capture on photos I must say. For what ever I tried I couldn't really get it to show how wonderfully almost luminous Orly Ablaze actually is.

I'm not sure you could call it a genuine neon because it doesn't dry completly matte. The polish is in any case quite bright orange with gold shimmer.

I have three layers without top coat on in the pictures and although it does not show how amazing orange this is indeed I still feel that it is visible that it is really neat. It dried quickly and was nice to paint with.

I feel happy when I'm wearing this kind of color and the beautifull golden shimmer in Ablaze actually do quite a lot to make this polish stand out from other neons. 

Orly - Ignite

Jag har svårt att motstå vanliga klassiska röda lack och det är precis vad Orly Ignite är. Ett härligt rött crelly. Det är ju då också förstås lacket jag hade som underkläder till China Glaze Lubu Heels.

Crelly är inte riktigt min favoritfinish att måla med, men det här var helt ok. Jag har tre lager på. Torktiden var lite seg tyckte jag, men det kan lika gärna vara att man börjar bli bortskämd av alla snabbtorkande lack man har.

Det är en helt fantastisk glans i det här lacket. På bilderna ser ni det utan topplack. Finns egentligen inte så mycket mer att säga om det här. Förutom att det är fint och att jag gillar det.

 

I find it hard to resist a classic red polish and that is exactly what Orly Ignite is. A beautiful red crelly. It' also the polish that I wore under China Glaze Lubu Heels.

Crelly is not really my favorite finish to paint with, but this was quite ok. I have three layers on. The drying time was a bit slow I thought, but it might as well be that I'm getting spoiled by all quick-drying polishes.

It is an absolutely amazing shine in this polish. In the pictures you can see it without topcoat. There really is not much more to say about this. Besides it's nice and I like it.

Green on Green!

Japp, vi kör en favorit i repris.. Eller nästan i alla fall. Lite mer ton i ton stämpling är väl inte fel. Igår vad det Orly Enchanted Forest som visades och idag har jag prytt detta med stämpling.

Mönstret kommer från MoYou London Back To The 80s 02 och jag har stämplat det med hjälp av Mentality Green Opaque. Ett lager topplack också.

Finns inte så mycket att säga egentligen om manikyren, mer än att jag är löjligt nöjd med den.

Yes, I have another tone on tone manicure for you today. Yesterday I showed you Orly Enchanted Forest and today i have decorated that with som stamping.

The pattern comes from MoYou London Back To The 80s 02 and the color I have used is Mentality Green Opaque. I have a layer of topcoat on as well.

There is really not that much to say about this manicure, more than I really love how this turned out.

Grön Onsdag - Orly Enchanted Forest

Längesedan jag lyckades vara med på Karins gröna onsdag, men den här veckan gick det liksom ihop sig. Det roliga är att jag har visat det här lacket en gång tidigare för ungefär två år sedan och då också i samband med grön onsdag.

I alla fall så är det Orly Enchanted Forest som pryder naglarna. Ett härligt skogsgrönt krämlack. Orly har ju helt underbara korkar att hålla i när man målar, så det är verkligen synd att dom inte längre har någon agentur i Sverige. Det här lacket flöt på smidigt och täckte på två lager. Jag har ett lager med Digital Flash över också.

Jag tycker den här färgen är så skön på något sätt. Lugn och trevlig eller är det för att jag nästan bor mitt i skogen som jag gillar den.

 

It's been a while since I participated in Karin's Green Wednesday, but here I am again. The funny thing is that I have shown this polish once before about two years ago and that time it was also in the context of Green Wednesday.

In any case, what I have to show you is Orly Enchanted Forest. A beautiful forest green creme polish. Orly has in my opinion the best corks of all the polishbrands. Love how they feel when you paint so it's really a shame that they no longer have any agency in Sweden. This polish flowed smoothly and covered in two layers. I have a stock of Digital Flash over too.

I think this color is so beautiful for some reason. Calm and pleasant or is it because I almost live in the middle of the forest that I like it.

NailArt Sunday - Rutor (Squares)

Söndag och dagens tema i NailArt Sunday är Rutor. Jaha, det här kan bli intressant för det här temat går att tolka hur som helst. I alla fall tycker jag det.

Själv så bestämde jag mig för att göra en ganska klassisk rutmanikyr, men en färgglad sådan. Jag har använt mig av Nubar Lemon Sherbert som bas. La på Nail Vinyls och målade de fyra rutorna med Orly Fresh, China Glaze Tart-y For The Party, Essence Snow White Grumpy och Powder Perfect With My High Heels On.

Kanterna blev inte helt raka, men jag gillar faktiskt att det blev nästan en lite suddig effekt. Glad manikyr blev det i alla fall.

Sunday and today's theme of NailArt Sunday is Square. Well, this could be interesting for this theme can be interpreted in so many ways. At least I think so.

I decided to make a fairly classic square manicure, but a colorful one. I am using Nubar Lemon Sherbert as the base. Put on Nail Vinyls and painted the four boxes with Orly Fresh, China Glaze Tart-y For The Party, Essence Snow White Grumpy and Powder Perfect With My High Heels On.

The edges were not completely straight, but I like the fact that it almost became a little blurred effect. It's a Happy manicure anyway.

Orly - Flicker

När vi skulle åka iväg till Berlin ville jag pryda naglarna med ett lack som jag visste jag skulle trivas i, som håller bra och som passar till kläderna jag skulle bära på bokeventet vi var på.

Efter mycket velande hit och dit blev det Orly Flicker som jag målade med. Ett val som jag absolut inte ångrar. Ett mycket vackert lite bränt orange lack med ett underbart skimmer i.

Jag tycker ju mycket om Orly som märke och är lite ledsen att det är lite knepigt att få tag på. Jo, givetvis kan man ju köpa från USA, men det hade ju varit trevligt att faktiskt hitta det i affärer här också.

Just Flicker är något lite skirt, jag tror att jag har tre lager på här och så The Shining toplack på också.

Höll det då? Jag målade med det på lördagskvällen och när vi kom hem sent på onsdagskvällen så fanns det någon liten chippning, men inte mycket så jag anser att det höll helt ok. Och jag trivdes kanon i det också.

When it was time for our trip to Berlin I wanted to paint my nails with a polish that I knew I would enjoy, that would look good for several days and that would fit to the clothes I was planning to wear at the bokeventet we were going to. 

I had a hard time deciding on what orange polish I would use but finally decided on Orly Flicker. A choice that I absolutely do not regret. A very beautiful somewhat burnt orange polish with a wonderful shimmer. 

I do like Orly as a brand very much and is a bit sad that it's a little tricky to find here in Sweden. Well, of course one can buy from the US, but it would have been nice to actually see it in stores here too. 

Flicker is a bit sheer, I think I have three coats on here and also The Shining on top. 

Did it last? I painted with it on Saturday night and when we came home late on Wednesday night, there were some chipping, but not much so I think it was quite ok and I enjoyd wearing it a lot. 

Skittle!

Igår var temat på jobbet Cirkus, jag gillar inte clowner. Faktum är att Cirkus är inget som lockar mig i huvud taget, men något måste jag ju ändå hitta på. Och när jag tänker på Cirkus så tänker jag på färgglatt.

Alltså fick det bli en Skittle på naglarna. En manikyr som alltid är lika kul att fundera ihop tycker jag. Den här gången ville jag göra en med krämlack för av någon anledning tycker jag nästan det är finast till den här typen av manikyr.

Lacken jag har använt mig är från tumme: Essence Doc, Essence Snow White, Orly Fresh, Color Club Almost Famous och Essence Grumpy.

Jag fick en del glada kommentarer om den här manikyren och man kan ju faktiskt inte annat än att bli glad när man ser den.

Yesterday the theme at my work was Circus. I don't like clowns acutally I don't like the Circus at all. It's nothing that I have ever felt any passion about. But I had to do something and when I think of Circus I think colorful.

So it had to be a Skittle. A manicure that I always find fun to plan. This time I wanted to do one with only creme polishes. Don't ask me why, but i do think that skittles looks best with cremes. 

I have used from the thumb: Essence Doc, Essence Snow White, Orly Fresh, Color Club Almost Famous and Essence Grumpy.

I got some happy comments about this manicure and you can't help but smile when you see this kind of nails.

Läsarnas Val / Reader's Choice - Orly Space Cadet

Idag blir det en klassiker. Ni valde Orly Space Cadet som veckans läsarnas val. Ett duokromt lack som kom innan det fanns en hel uppsjö av denna typen av lack på marknaden. Och dessutom ett lack som håller än. Jag tycker det här har åldrats med stil. Det tillhör Cosmic FX kollektionen från 2010.

Space Cadet skiftar mellan guld och lila. Relativt tydliga skiftningar. Man kan ju inte annat än tycka att det är vackert. Ett superfint lack, det enda jag inte gillar är att det är aningen skirt. Jag har fyra lager på för att få full täckning på det. Torktiden var helt normal och över det hela har jag ett lager av Insta-Dri.

Gillar jag det här då? Absolut gör jag det även om jag hade för mig att det var mer lila än vad det är. Det är ett vackert lack som jag är glad att jag har i min samling. Skulle gärna ha mer från den kollektionen måste jag säga.

Den här gången har min något febrige son valt ut tre lack i färgen grönt för er att rösta på.

Today you will get swatches of  a classic polish. You chose Orly Space Cadet for this week's readers' choice. A duochrome polish that came out before there was a whole bunch of this type of polishes on the market. And also a polish that still stands up to the competition. I think this has aged with style. It belongs to the Cosmic FX collection from 2010. 

Space Cadet shifts between gold and purple. Relatively clear shades. One can not but think that it is beautiful. A super nice polish the only thing I don't like is that it is slightly sheer. I have four layers on four full coverage. The drying time was completely normal and above it all, I have a coat of Insta-Dri. 

Do I like it then? Absolutely! Even if I rememberd it as morme purple than it is. It is a beautiful polish that I'm glad that I have in my collection. Would love to have more from the Cosmic FX collection, I must say. 

This time my slightly feverish son has chosen three green polishes for you to vote on.

GOT Polish Challenge - Yellow

Denna torsdagen så är temat för GOT Polish Challenge gult. Jag har en del gula lack, men använder dom mest som grund till nailart då jag inte tycker direkt om att bära gult eller tycker att mina händer blir speciellt fina i det.

Lacket jag visar er idag är exakt ett år sedan jag visade sist. Jag har äldre gula lack, men kände att det här absolut kunde få komma fram ur lådan. Lacket heter Melodious Utopia och är ett av lacken ur Orlys Hope and Freedom kollektion som kom förra våren. En trevlig kollektion från ett märke som tyvärr inte är helt lätt att få tag på i Sverige. Synd för det finns mycket bra Orly lack.

Just det här lacket är lite sådär att lacka med, inget ovanligt för gula lack i och för sig. Det blir ganska strimmigt dom första lagren, men efter fyra lager och Digital Flash ovanpå så ser det riktigt hyggligt ut.

Det jag tycker är kul med det här är det rosa skimret som faktiskt finns i det. Kanske inte superframträdande på mina bilder, men i verkligheten syns det ganska väl faktiskt och gör det här lacket lite roligare än många andra gula tycker jag.

This Thursday the theme in GOT Polish Challenge is yellow/peach. I have some yellow polishes, but mostly use them as the basis for nailart since I don't directly enjoy wearing yellow or think that my hands looks especially nice in it.

The polish I'm showing you today is exactly a year ago since I showed last time. I have older yellow polishes, but felt that this certainly deserved to be shown again. The polish is called Melodious Utopia and is one of the polishes from Orly's Hope and Freedom collection that came out last spring. A nice collection from a brand which unfortunately is not all that easy to come by in Sweden. Too bad because they have a lot of nice colors. 

This polish however is a bit tricky to paint with, nothing unusual for yellow polishes. It gets pretty streaky the first few layers, but after four layers and Digital Flash on top it looks decent .

What I like about this polish and also what I think makes it different from other yellow polishes are the pink shimmer that actually is in it. Maybe not super prominent in my pictures, but in reality it can be seen quite well. I think that is what really makes this stand out from an ordinary polish to a fun one.

Red Tuesday - Orly Torrid

Idag visar jag er ett inlägg från arkivet och även ett lack som platsar in i Nerd Colours Röda tisdag.

Det här är Orly Torrid ett otroligt vackert rött lack som jag tror är mer eller mindre dupe till både A-England Perceval och Isadora Orient Express, men jag är inte helt säker. Strunt samma för det här är så fint och jag tycker faktiskt inte alls att det gör något att jag äger allihopa dom där tre lacken.

Alla är ju bra på sitt sätt liksom. Det jag tycker Orly vinner på framför A-England är borsten. Mycket bra. Isadora å sin sida vinner över Orly för att det har något bättre täckning. Inte för att Torrid har dålig, nej tvärtom det här är två lager och det funkar utmärkt.

Jag har ett lager med Seche över också. Kan man annat än älska en sån här färg?

Today I show you a post from the archive and also a polish that qualifies into Nerd Colours Red Tuesday. 

This is Orly Torrid an incredibly beautiful red polish that I think is more or less dupe for both A-England Perceval and Isadora Orient Express, but I'm not entirely sure. Never mind, because this is so nice and I actually I don't mind at all that I own all three of them.  

Each one is good in it's own way. What I like more about Orly over A-England is the brush. Very good. Isadora on that hand wins over Orly because it has slightly better coverage. Not that Torrid is bad, no the other way around this is two coats and it works great. 

I have a layer of Seche over too. I can't help but love this color!
