ABC Challenge - D = Darling Diva Polish Mach 1

Idag är det dagen D alltså som i bokstaven D i vårt ABC Challenge och ni kommer få höra det här många gånger under den här utmaningen, men varför har det här lacket stått så länge i lådan.

Jag fick hem ett gäng av Darling Diva Muscle Car kollektionen i början av Maj 2014 och Mach 1 har blivit stående ändå tills nu. Troligen för att jag hatar att plocka bort glitter lack. Det kommer att bli fler glitterlack under utmaningens gång jag lovar.

Mach 1 skulle man mycket väl kunna måla med på egen hand och få att täcka på tre lager skulle jag tro, men jag valde att lägga det över Chanel 337 Noir Ceramic istället och jag har bara ett lager av Mach 1. Och ändå så är det som en hel discokula.

Lacket består av en svart jellybas och sen massor, massor av prismatiskt glitter. Det sprider ut sig hur smidigt som helst på nageln. Torktiden är helt ok. På bilderna har jag två lager av topplack på. För det är ju trots allt ett glitter och dom har en förmåga att äta upp topplacket.

Det här är rent ut sagt skitsnyggt. En sån underbar glitterbomb och nu ska jag göra er besvikna.. Det går inte att få tag på längre förutom möjligen på någon blogsale. Synd, för det här är väl värt att ha i sin samling.

Today is the D-Day, as in the letter D in our ABC Challenge and you will hear this many times in this challenge, but why has this polish been standing soo long!

I bought a bunch from the Darling Diva Muscle Car collection in early May 2014 and Mach 1 has been standing untried until now. Probably because I hate to take off glitter polishes. And I guess that is the reason why there will be more glitters in this challenge.

Mach 1 could very well be worn on it's own and I thinkt it would cover in lets say three coats, but I chose to layer it over Chanel 337 Noir Ceramic instead and I have only one layer of Mach 1. And yet it sparkles like a disco ball.

The polish consists of a black jellybase and lots and lots of prismatic glitter. It spreads out very smoothly on the nail. The drying time is quite ok. In the pictures I have two layers of top coat on. After all this is a glitter polish and they have the ability to eat up the topcoat. 

This is just amazingly beautiful. A wonderful glitter bomb but and is the time that I have to disappoint you .. It has been discontinued so you can no longer buy it. Unless you find it on a blogsale. Too bad, for this is well worth having in the collection.

ABC Challenge - C = Chanel 337 Noir Ceramic

Idag är vi på bokstaven C och jag tänker visa er ett lack som jag inte för mitt liv kan komma ihåg när det kom med i min samling, men jag tror att jag fick det här ihop med några andra lack som jag köpte på Tradera. Och det är i alla fall några år sedan det kom hem till mig.

Lacket är Chanel 337 Noir Ceramic och det får mig att tänka på fina Maria på Marias Nail Art And Polish Blog som är en stor samlare av Chanel lack. Jag har två det här och Taboo.

Noir Ceramic fick jag hälla lite thinner i för det hade tjocknat till sig en del, men efter det så var det hur smidigt som helst att lacka med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Färgen är svart med mycket silverskimmer i det ser nästan lite grått ut, men så där mörkt så man nästan inte vet om det är svart eller grått. Riktigt tjusigt må jag säga. Och ja, det här har jag haft stående så länge. Skäms på mig!

Today we have come to the letter C and I want to show you a polish which I can't remember, no matter how hard I try, when it came into my collection. But I think I got this together with some other polishes I bought on Tradera (eBay). And it's in any case a few years ago now.

The polish is Chanel 337 Noir Ceramic and it makes me think of the sweet Maria at Marias Nail Art And Polish Blog which is a big collector of Chanel polishes. I have two this and Taboo.

Before I used Noir Ceramic I had to pour a little thinner in it because it has thickende up a great deal standing in my drawer. But after that it was very smooth to paint with and covers in two layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

The color is black with much silver shimmer in. It almost looks a little gray, but you know so dark that you almost can't tell if it's black or gray. Really fancy I must say. And yes, I know I have had this in my untested drawer for years. Shame on me!

ABC Challenge - B = By K Blue Lagoon

English version under the pictures. 

Bokstaven B representeras av By K Blue Lagoon alltså B både i märke och namn på lack. Återigen ett märke som jag inte provat tidigare. Och återigen ett lack som inte stått hur länge som helst i lådan, men sen i höstas eller så.

Blue Lagoon är ett duochrome glassfleck lack skulle jag nog säga. Dock syns skiftningarna mer i flaskan än på naglarna i mitt tycke. Det är ganska skirt så tre lager är nödvändigt. Torktiden är helt ok. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Själva färgen är en härligt djup blå färg och skiftningarna går mot lila. Gillar man sjöjungfruliknande lack så gillar man det här och jag tycker att det är riktigt fint. Den blå färgen är något djupare blå i verkligheten än på mina bilder.

The letter B is represented by By K Blue Lagoon that has B in both  the brand name and polishname. Again, a brand that I have not tried before. And again a polish that has not stood forever in the drawer, but since last autumn or so.

Blue Lagoon is a duochrome glass fleck polish, I would probably say. However the shiftings are more visible in the bottle than on the nails in my opinion. It's pretty sheer and three layers are necessary. The drying time is quite ok. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

The color on this is a beautiful deep blue color and the shifts is towards purple. If you like polishes that are mermaid-like you would definitly like this one and I think it's really nice. The color is a bit deeper blue in reality than in my pictures.

ABC Challenge - A = Arcane Lacquer Tonks

Då var det återigen dags att gör något åt högen med otestade lack! Och detta med hjälp av ett ABC Challenge. Utmaningen går ut på att använda sina otestade lack i bokstavsordning. Det kan vara märket på lacket eller namnet på lacket som börjar på aktuell bokstav. Och har man inte något av det så är det rätt troligt att man kanske har ett lack som bara är betecknat med en siffra och då tar man det.

Vi börjar förstås på bokstaven A och jag har plockat fram ett lack som nog inte är äldst av dom på A som står i lådan, men ändå har stått i ett antal månader.

Det här är Arcane Lacquer Tonks ett lack som var med i en Harry Potter inspirerad box jag köpte någon gång förra året. Tonks är även namnet på en av mina Undulater så jag kände att det här måste ju jag ha. Det är mitt första lack från det här märket och mitt första intryck är mycket positivt.

Både formula och pensel var riktigt bra. Två lager täcker och på bilderna har jag topplack på.

Färgen är en ganska rödtonad lila, med en hel del prismatiskt glitter i. Inte holo, men det glittrar alldeles ljuvligt om det. När jag tittar på bilderna så tror jag dessutom det finns lite lila och rött glitter också i.

Jag tycker det här är riktigt fint och är väldigt glad att jag har det i min samling speciellt med tanke på att det är ett LE lack som inte går att få tag på längre.

Nu ser jag fram emot att se vad det blir för mer lack på A som övriga deltagare kommer visa.

So it's time to do something about the pile with untested polishes again! And this with the help of an ABC Challenge. The challenge is to use your untested polishes in alphabetical order. It may be the brand on the polish or the name of the polish that begin on the letter of the day. And if you have none of these you probably have one or two makred only with a number on them. That is also ok to use. 

We begin of course with the letter A and I have picked a polish that probably is not the oldest untested of the once I have on the letter A, but has been among them for a number of months.

This is Arcane Lacquer Tonks a polish that was in a Harry Potter-inspired box I bought sometime last year. Tonks is also the name of one of my Budgies so I felt that this was a must have for me. It's my first polish from this brand and my first impression is very positive.

Both the formula and brush were really good. Two coats is enough and in the pictures I have a topcoat on.

The color is a rather reddish purple, with a lot of prismatic glitter. Not holo, but it's rather sparkly anyway. And looking at the pictures makes me think that there is some red and purple glitter in it as well. 

I think this is really nice and is very glad that I have it in my collection especially considering that it's an LE polish that you can't get anymore. 

I'm looking forward to see what the other participants will show on this letter.

ABC Challenge - Z = HM Zoo

Så kom det då till slut. Sista inlägget i den här omgången med ABC Challenge. Jag tror att det inte blev mer än två bokstäver jag missade i slutändan och det på grund av sjukdom. Hur ska jag nu välja lack då?

Sista inlägget blir med ett svenskt märke nämligen HM och eftersom bokstaven är Z så blev det Zoo som får pryda naglarna. Eller i alla fall delvis. För jag valde att göra en glittergradient av det här lite gammelrosa microglittret över Zoya Raven.

Det känns väldigt bra att få avsluta med en manikyr som jag verkligen tycker om. Just den här typen av rosa som Zoo består av är väl inte någon favoritfärg, men använt på det här sättet så blir det magiskt fint tycker jag.

And now the time has come for the last post in this round of the ABC Challenge. I think that I only missed out on two or possible three letters and that was because of illness. How should I do know when I should chose polish?

Last post is represented by a Swedish brand namely HM and since the letter is Z it became Zoo that will finish of this challenge. Or at least partly. Because I chose to do a glittergradient of this little dusty pink micro glitter over Zoya Raven.

It feels very good to finish with a manicure that I really like. This particular type of pink that Zoo is are not a favorite, but used in this way, it becomes magically beautiful I think.

ABC Challenge - Y = Reverie Nail Lacquer Yuletide

Det här är faktiskt det näst sista inlägget i vårt ABC Challenge och bokstaven idag är Y. Det här är det första lacket jag provar från Reverie Nail Lacquer och det heter Yuletide. Kanske lite fel årstid att visa just det här lacket, men det är ju på rätt bokstav!

Yuletide är ett helt galet glitter lack, faktiskt lite för galet för mig. Basen är en skogsgrön jelly som sen är helt packad med glitter i både olika storlekar och färger och lite prismatiskt också för den delen. Det är helt klart ett kul lack, men som sagt kanske inte något direkt för mig.

Däremot var det trevligt att lacka med. Jag har tre lager på bilderna och det var både lätt att få med glittren upp ur flaskan och att få dom att sprida sig på naglarna. Torktiden var också riktigt bra.

Man kan ju inte tycka om allt och meningen med den här utmaningen är ju att använda dom där som har blivit stående länge i lådan. Och jag vet precis varför det här har blivit det. Dels faktiskt för att spara det till den här utmaningen, men även också för att jag hade på känn att jag inte riktigt skulle trivas i det. Och jag fick rätt.

This is actually the penultimate post in our ABC Challenge and the letter today is Y. This is the first polish I try from Reverie Nail Lacquer and it's Yuletide. Maybe a little wrong season to show this polish judging by it's name but it's name is with the right letter!

Yuletide is a crazy glitter polish, actually a little too crazy for me. The base is a forest green jelly which then is completely packed with glitter in both different sizes and colors and some prismatic for that matter. There is clearly a fun polish but as I said maybe not something for me.

However, it was nice to paint with. I have three layers in the pictures and it was both easy to get the glitters up from the bottle and getting them to spread on the nails. The drying time was also really good.

One can not like all polishes you try and the meaning of this challenge was of course to use those that has for some reasone been standing a long time in the box. And I know why this has been standing. Partly actually to save it to this challenge, but also because I had a feeling that I wouldn't really enjoy it. And I was right.

ABC Challenge - X or a number = Perfect 69

Något lack vars märke eller namn började på X hade jag inte så jag fick köra på en siffra istället. Idag visar jag mitt sista Perfect lack som har nummer 69 (tror jag).

Märket är från Ungern och jag har fått dom genom ett byte för länge sedan. Det här lacket ser ut att vara skiftande mellan grått och lila i flaskan och det är det nog också, men väldigt blygsamt får jag lov att säga. Visst skiftar det, men man får stå där det är bra ljus för att se det.

I vilket fall som helst så var det smidigt att måla med. Täcker på tre lager. Däremot var torktiden lite seg tyckte jag.

Lacket är fint, men inte något som man blir hänförd av direkt. Ett mellanlack helt enkelt.

 

I didn't have any polishes with a brand or name that started on the letter X so I had to take one with only a number instead today. This is the last polish that I have from Perfect and it's called  69 (I think).

The brand is from Hungary and I have got them through a swap long ago. This polish looks as it should be shifting between gray and purple in the bottle and it probably is too, but with a very shy shift. Sure it changes, but one must stand where there is good light to see it.

In any case, it was easy to paint with. Covers in three layers. The drying time is a bit slow though.

The polish is nice but not something that one gets mesmerized by. One of those polishes that you like but maybe wont be using again.

ABC Challenge - V or W = Sephora Will You Jump?

Jelly, lite knepig borste. Fyra lager med vita prickar emellan. Topplack.

Vi börjar närma oss slutet av vårt ABC Challenge och idag kör vi med lack på antingen V eller W. Jag tycker det har varit väldigt skönt att få lite hjälp på vägen med att välja vilka lack jag ska visa och kommer på ett sätt att sakna det när utmaningen är över, men samtidigt blir det skönt att inte ha två uppbokade dagar varje vecka. 

Idag har jag använt mig av Sephora Will You Jump? ett väldigt fint royalblått lack. Men nu kommer haken. Det är ett jellylack och ni vet ju vid det här laget att jag inte är en stor fan av VNL så jag bestämde mig på en gång att göra en pondmanikyr av det hela. 

Det betyder att innan jag la första lagret med Will You Jump? fixade dit vita prickar på nageln. Målade sen ett lager med lacket, lät det torka och la dit nya prickar. Allt som allt är det fyra lager med Will You Jump? och fem lager prickar. 

På det här sättet så syns det inte igenom lacket och man får en rolig manikyr på köpet. 

We are approaching the end of our ABC Challenge and today we have polishes on either V or W. I think it's been really helpful to have a specific letter that I need to use a polish on to make me go and get those nearly forgotten polishes and I might even miss that when it's over, but it will be nice to have more "open" days in the week instead of two always booked for the challenge. 

Today I am using Sephora Will You Jump? a very nice royal blue polish. But here comes the catch. It is a jelly coat and you know by now that I'm not a big fan of VNL so I decided at once to make a pondmanicure of it.

This means that before I put the first layer of Will You Jump? on I did some white dots on the nail. Then painted a layer of polish, let it dry and put dots on again. All in all, there are four layers of Will You Jump? and five layers of dots.

In this way you have no VNL and you get a fun manicure as well.

ABC Challenge - U = Hits Unconventional

Förra veckans bokstäver blev inte några favoritlack precis, men idag när vi är på bokstaven U så slår jag till med en riktig juvel. 

Något lack som har ett märke som börjar på U hade jag inte otestat, men Hits Marimoon Unconventional hade jag stående i min låda och oj vilket vackert lack det är. Ett duochrome lack som har väldigt tydliga växlingar från rött, vinrött, lila och blått. Jag har inte fått med alls hur fint det är på bilderna. 

Problemet med det här var att det var lite knepigt att applicera. Det blev väldigt strimmigt, så tre lager var nödvändigt. På bilderna har jag inget topplack. 

Det här är väl ett av dom tidigaste duochroma lacken och jag vet att dom var hett eftertraktade. Jag är väldigt glad att jag har en flaska för det är verkligen fint. 

Last week's polishes for the ABC Challenge didn't become any favorites but today when we are on the letter U I have a real jewel for you.

I didn't have a untried polish from a brand that starts with a U but Hits Marimoon Unconventional was in my untested drawer. And oh what a beautiful polish it is. A duochrome polish that has very clear shifts from red, burgundy, purple and blue. I haven't capture half of it's beauty in the pictures. 

The problem with this was that it was a bit tricky to apply. It became very streaky, so three layers was necessary. In the pictures I have no topcoat.

I think this might be one of the earliest duochrome that came out and I know that they were coveted. I'm very happy that I have a bottle of it is because it's really nice.

ABC Challenge - T = Treasures By Tan Kinky

Jag skrev när jag dissade lacket till bokstaven S att jag hoppades på något bättre till bokstaven T och jo det här är absolut bättre, men fortfarande inte riktigt något som jag blev sådär över förtjust i.

Treasures By Tan Kinky är ett lite mörkare rosa holo. Jo, det är en fin färg, men inte tillräckligt skarp för att jag ska bli riktigt nöjd. Eller har jag gått och blivit kräsen. Det kan mycket väl vara så också.

Det är som sagt absolut inget fel på färgen, däremot var lacket lite väl skirt så fyra lager behövdes för att få det acceptabelt täckande. Torktiden var helt ok. Och över det här har jag ett lager med Digital Flash.

Det är som sagt inte så att jag inte tycker om det här alls för det gör jag, men det är inte ett lack som blev någon favorit. Tyvärr.

I wrote when I dissed the polish of the letter S that I was hoping for something better to the letter T, and yes this is definitely better, but still not really something that I was that fond of.

Treasures By Tan Kinky is a little darker pink holo. Well, it's a nice color, but not sharp enough for making me really happy. Or have I gone and become picky. It may well be that too.

Again, it is absolutely nothing wrong with the color, but the polish was sheer it took four layers to get it acceptable opaque. The drying time was quite ok. And over this I have a stock of Digital Flash.

Again, it's not that I don't like this at all because I do, but it's not a polish that became a favorite. Sorry.

ABC Challenge - S = Sinful Colors Bali Mist

Turen har kommit till bokstaven S och jag kan lugnt säga att lacket jag visar idag inte är en höjdare. Nä, det här är inte alls min typ av lack.

Det här är Sinful Colors Bali Mist. Ett lack som i flaskan ser ut att vara multichrome och det är det säkert, men det syns då rakt inte på naglarna. Jag tror att tanken är att det ska växla mellan rosa, lila och guld. Jag hittade lite guldiga skiftingar men inte mer än så. Och dom var inte starka.

Dessutom var det skirt. Jag har fyra lager och det är på gränsen till att vara tillräckligt faktiskt. Jag tror att det här hade vunnit på att läggas över svart för på det här viset blev det bara tråkigt. Fult faktiskt. Synliga penseldrag och bubblor blev det också. Nä, jag hoppas att lacket på bokstaven T blir bättre.

The time has come to the letter S and I can safely say that the polish I am showing today is not a great one. Nah, this is not my type of polish.

This is Sinful Colors Bali Mist. A polish that in the bottle looks to be multi chrome and I guess it is, but it's not visible when you have it on the nails. I think the idea is that it will toggle between pink, purple and gold. I found a little golden shifts, but no more than that. And they were not strong.

Furthermore it's sheer. I have four layers and it is on the verge of being enough actually. I think this had been better layered over black for in this way, it's just boring. I would even say ugly. It also has visible brushstrokes and bubbles. Nah, I hope the polish for the letter T is better than this.
