Dollish Polish - Toad-ally Awesome

En riktigt kul helg är över och det är jobbarvecka igen.

När jag visade GOSH Wild Lilac häromdagen så konstaterade jag att det förmodligen skulle funka bra som underlag till diverse nailart och annat skoj. Givetvis så kunde jag ju inte låta bli att testa detta.

Kanske inte den kombon man räknat med, men jag tycker den blev rätt kul. Det jag gjort är att jag tog Dollish Polish Toad-ally Awesome ett glitterlack i vitt, rött, guld och blått med klar bas och la över.

Precis som med de andra lacken ur Super Mario Bros kollektionen så var det lite knepigt att få upp glittren ur flaskan, men har man bara lite tålamod så går det bra. Jag har lagt två lager över Wild Lilac för att det inte skulle bli för lite glitter. Lacket var lite segtorkat tycker jag nog. Över det här så har jag ett lager Poshé.2 lager.

Toad är ju en av figurerna från Super Mario Spelen som jag inte hade så bra koll på så jag slog upp på nätet och fick fram den här informationen:

Toads är fiktiva svampfigurer som förekommer i de flesta TV-spel och tidningar i Nintendos Mario-serie. Med sina stora prickiga mössor föreställer de någon sorts levande humanoida flugsvampar. De är invånare i Mushroom Kingdom och vissa är även tjänare åt prinsessan Peach i hennes slott. Namnet kommer från engelskans "Toadstool" som syftar på oätliga/giftiga svampar och även är prinsessans efternamn - namnet har således inget med paddor att göra.

A really fun weekend is over and it's working week again.

When I showed GOSH Wild Lilac the other day, I noted that it would probably work well as a basis for various nail art and other fun stuff. Of course I had to try it at once!

Maybe not the combo you expect, but I think it was pretty fun. What I did is I took Dollish Polish Toad-ally Awesome a glitter polish with white, red, gold and blue glitters in a clear base and layered it over the purple polish.

As with the other polishes from the Super Mario Bros collection, it was a little tricky to get the glitters up on the brush from the bottle, but if you have just a little patience, it works. I added two coats over Wild Lilac to get enought sparkle. The drying time on this was a little long, I think. Over this, I have a stock of Poshé.

Toad's one of the characters from the Super Mario games that I did not have a good handle on so I looked up online and came up with this information:

Toad, known in Japan as Kinopio (キノピオ^?), is a fictional character who primarily appears in Nintendo's Mario franchise. Created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, he is portrayed as a citizen of the Mushroom Kingdom and is one of Princess Peach's most loyal attendants; constantly working on her behalf. He is usually seen as a non-player character (NPC) who provides assistance to Mario and his friends in most games, but there are times when Toad takes center stage and appears as the protagonist, as seen in Super Mario Bros. 2 and Wario's Woods.

While Toad is an individual, there is also an entire species of him called theMushroom Retainers (much like Yoshi and Birdo). However, in Japan, the original species name was only Kinoko-zoku (キノコ族^?), which literally pronounces as "mushroom" in Japanese. In other words, Toad (Kinopio) is a member of the Toads (Kinokos). In Mario franchise, there are also some other individual toad characters (e.g., Toadette, Toadsworth, Toadbert). The common point of most toads is wearing a large mushroom cap and a vest.

Starting with Super Mario Sunshine, a newly introduced character known asToadsworth was introduced as Peach's steward, thus replacing Toad's original role as a helper in games, causing Toad's role to diminish. However, Toad later received various other roles (including that of being the captain of the Toad Brigade association in Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel) that allowed him to take a more active role within the later Mario games. Additionally, two Toads (Yellow and Blue) were featured as playable characters along with Mario and Luigiin New Super Mario Bros. Wii^[1] and New Super Mario Bros. U.^[2]

Nailart Sunday - Ljus/Light

Dagens tema på vår Nailart Sunday är ljus. Min första tanke är ju givetvis sådana ljus som man tänder, för det är något som jag älskar nästan lika mycket som nagellack. Fast sen tänkte jag att det är säkert många som gör något sånt. Vad kan man mer associera med ljus då? Jo, självklart solen!

Alltså tog jag fram Zoya Creamy och målade strålande solar på OPI Who The Shrek Are You? som redan satt på naglarna.

Jag tycker det här blev en enkel och glad manikyr en man kan ha på mörka och tråkiga dagar.

The theme this week for our Nailart Sunday is light. In Sweden it's called ljus and is also the same word as in candle. I love candles almost as much as nailpolish so the first thought was of course to do a candle on the nails. But then I started to think that maybe that is what everybody else thinks. So what else can bring you light. Aha, the sun of course. 

That said I pulled out Zoya Creamy from the drawer and painted little suns over OPI Who The Shrek Are You? that I already had on the nails. 

I think this is a simple but happy and fun manicure that is suitable for dark and boring days.

Läsarnas Val / Readers Choice! - OPI Who The Shrek Are You?

Kan nu rapportera att Ladies Night var fantastiskt kul! Hade faktiskt inte förväntat mig det, för jag var inte helt övertygad om artisterna som var med. Men trevligt sällskap och gamla godingar till låtar gör vem som helst glad.

Idag är det Läsarnas Val igen och den här lördagen kan jag kanske inte påstå att ni valt ett vackert lack åt mig, men kul är det i alla fall och jag älskar namnet på det.

Det var ganska så jämt i röstningen den här gången. Både OPI Who The Shrek Are You?, Depend Laurel Green och Misa The Grass Is Greener On My Side hade chansen att vinna, men till slut så var det OPI som gick vinnande ur striden.

Ett träsktrollsgrönt lack helt enkelt. För jag vet inte med vilket annat ord jag skulle beskriva det här lacket. Det är inte alls vackert, men en sån där kul nyans som förmodligen ingen som inte är van vid att bära lack har på sig. För min del så är det absolut inte smickrande mot min hudton, men vad gör väl det!

Ingen tv-serie, men väl en film som lacket fått namn efter. En film eller filmer som jag tycker är helt underbara och om ni inte sett Mästerkatten i Stövlar om katten som är med i Shrek filmerna så måste ni göra det!

Lite ojämnt att lacka med och något lite skirt får jag nog säga. Fyra lager har jag för att bli helt nöjd och så en vända med Poshé över. Däremot är det en jättebra torktid på det här.

Vad tycker ni om nyansen? Något ni skulle kunna tänka er att pryda naglarna med?

Den här veckan och några veckor framöver så kommer Läsarnas val att se lite annorlunda ut. Jag tänkte ge mig ut på en ny ABC resa med hjälp av er, men för att det inte ska dra ut alltför mycket på tiden så blir det tre bokstäver varje vecka som ni har att välja mellan. Så denna veckan är det lack från märken på ABC som det går att rösta på och jag har försökt välja ut dom på de bokstäverna som stått längst i mina lådor. Hoppas ni tycker att det kan bli en kul grej.

I can now report that Ladies Night was great fun! Had not really expecting it, because I was not entirely convinced about the artists who attended. But good company and songs that I heard on the dicsos in my teens can make anyone happy.

Today is the Readers' Choice again and this Saturday, I might not say that you have chosen a beautiful polish for me, but it's fun anyway and I love the name of it.

It was pretty evenly in the poll this time. Both OPI Who The Shrek Are You?, Depend Laurel Green and Misa The Grass Is Greener On My Side had a chance to win, but in the end it was the OPI who won the battle.

An ogre green polish. Because I don't know what other word I would describe this polish with. It's not at all beautiful, but one of those fun shades that probably no one who is not used to wearing nailpolish wears. For me it is absolutely not flattering to my skin tone, but who cares !

No TV series, but a movie that the polish is named after. A movie or movies that I think is absolutely great fun and if you haven't seen Puss in Boots about the cat who is in the Shrek movies then you must do it!

It became a bit uneven when I painted with it and somewhat a bit sheer, I might say. It took four layers before I was completely satisfied and a layer of Poshe on top. However, it's a really good dry time on this .

This week and for a few weeks to come Readers' choice will look a little different. I was going to go out on a new ABC trip with the help of you my dear readers. But I didn't want to take one letter every week for it will take to long time then, so there will be three letters each week that you get to choose from. So this week  the brand of the polishes that you can choose from is in the letters ABC that it's possible to vote for and I have tried selecting the polishes in those letters that has been standning the longest in my drawers. Hope you think it might be a fun thing.

Holofredag - Darling Diva Polish Slutty Pumpkin

Då var det dags för Skimmerskuggans holofredag igen och även en efterlängtat klippning står på schemat. Och Ladies Night. Låter väl som en rätt bra fredag va?

I mitt försök att använda lack som jag har haft stående länge har nu turen kommit Darling Diva Polish Slutty Pumpkin. Det här har stått länge i hyllan, men ändå inte ett av dom som stått där längst. Det här har mog "bara" stått sen i Januari i år eller så.

Jag tror, men är inte helt säker på att det kommit en ny version av det här lacket, men nu är det en äldre variant som jag tänker visa. Ett eldigt orange lack med svart glitter i. En färg som jag absolut älskar och först tyckte jag att dom svarta glittren var helt onödiga. Jag la på det här igår kväll och nu på morgonen har jag insett att jag faktiskt gillar dom där små svarta prickarna. För helt ärligt oranga holos har jag som är superfina och utan prickar. Med prickar så blir ju det här lite mer unikt.

För övrigt så är det här det andra lacket i denna veckan som jag visar som namnet syftar på händelser i en TV-serie. Den här gången How I Met Your Mother som jag tycker är en helt underbar serie.

Formulan är jättebra, smidigt att lacka med. Torktiden var också ok. Tre lager har jag på bilderna och ett lager Poshé också.

In my attempt to use polishes that I've bought a long time ago the turn has now come to  Darling Diva Polish Slutty Pumpkin. This has been standing a long time in my drawer, but still not one of those who had been there the longest. I only had this since January this year I think. 

I think, but am not entirely sure that there's a new version of this polish out, but the one I have is an older version. A fiery orange polish with black glitter in. A color that I absolutely love and at first I thought that the black glitters was completely unnecessary. I painted with this last night and this morning I realized that I actually like them where tiny black dots. In all honesty I have other orange holos that is amazing and without glitter. With the dots this becomes a bit more unique I think.

This is also the second polish this week that has connections with a TV-series. This time How I Met Your Mother that i totally love.

The formula is great, easy to paint with. The drying time was ok too. I have three layers of Slutty Pumpkin and one layer of Poshé over.

GOSH - Wild Lilac

Jag har bestämt mig för att försöka visa i alla fall ett lack i veckan av dom som står och är äldst bland mina oprövade. Jag lovar inte att jag kommer hålla det här, men försöka duger väl?

Dagens lack är från GOSH och heter Wild Lilac. Det här inhandlades när jag var i Tyskland April 2012. Japp, 1½ år har det stått i min låda. Inte klokt egentligen.

Varför har det blivit stående då? Alltså det är ju absolut inget fel på färgen. Den är faktiskt väldigt fin och trevlig, men när man tittar på flaskan så ser den kanske lite tråkig ut i jämförelse med alla andra glittrande, skimmrande, holografiska lacken man har så därför väljs det liksom bort.

GOSH har väldigt bra lack. När jag la första lagret på det här så tänkte jag att det här kommer kräva mååånga lager, men oj så fel jag hade, för på bilderna har jag bara två lager och det funkade alldeles utmärkt. Jag gillar det här och kommer förmodligen att använda det fler gånger främst som underlag till nailart och glitterlack.

På bilderna är det alltså två lager och inget topplack.

I have decided to try to show at least one polish a week of those who have been standing the longest untested in my drawer.  I don't promise that I will keep this intention but I will try as much as I can.

Today's polish is from GOSH and is called Wild Lilac. This was purchased when I was in Germany in April 2012. Yep, 1 ½ years it has been in my drawer. That is so wrong. Poor little bootle.

Why has it been standing then? Well,there's absolutely nothing wrong with the color. It's actually very nice and pleasant, but when you look at the bottle it looks a bit boring in comparison to all other glittery, shimmery, holographic polishes that also stands in my drawer that I tend to choose over this kind of colors.

GOSH has great polishes. When I put the first layer on of this, my thought was that this will require lots of layers, but oh so wrong I was, for in the pictures, I have only two layers and it worked just fine. I like this color and the polish is very nice to work with and will probably use it more times mainly as a basis for nail art and glitter polishes .

In the pictures I have two coats and no top coat.
