China Glaze - Stella

Idag blir det en gammal klassiker här på bloggen. China Glaze Stella kom ut med Retro Diva kollektionen hösten 2009 en av China Glaze bästa kollektioner faktiskt. I alla fall enligt mig.

Stella är ett magenta/lila lack med helt fantastiskt skimmer. Det är lätt att måla med och täcker på två lager. på bilderna har jag topplack också.

Det var länge sedan jag plockade fram det här ur lådan och det är synd för det är väldigt vackert, men idag när det är dags att åka på studentfirande hittade jag denna gömda juvel och den passar utmärkt till klädseln jag ska ha på mig.

Jag tycker det här är så himla fint, China Glaze när det är som allra bäst. En klassisk färg som är snygg i så många sammanhang. Och en som man känner sig uppklädd i på något sätt.

 

Today I have a classic polish for you. China Glaze Stella came out with the Retro Diva collection in the fall 2009 one of China Glazes best collections actually. At least according to me.

Stella is a magenta / purple polish with a fantastic shimmer. It's easy to paint with and covers in two layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

It was a long time since I picked this one up from the drawer and it's a shame because it is very beautiful polish. Today I will go to a graduation celebration and suitably I found this hidden jewel and it works perfect with my outfit. 

I think this is so very nicely, China Glaze when it's at it's best. A classic color that is attractive in so many contexts. And makes you feel dressed in some way.

Hit The Bottle - I'm Thinking Of Blue

Hoppas ni allihopa får en riktigt fin Nationaldag, vädret verkar i alla fall vara på vår sida idag.

Själv är jag så sjukt trött så det blir nog solstolshäng i trädgården det mesta av dagen.

Kommer ni ihåg Depend O2 484 som jag visade förra veckan, jag var inte särskilt förtjust i lacket och skrev att jag skulle fixa till lite nail art på det.

Det gjorde jag också med ett mönster från BP L015 och ett av mina nya Hit The Bottle lack. I'm Thinking Of Blue är duochrome, men gör sig nog egentligen bäst över mörkare lack. Jag ville i alla fall testa och resultatet blev sockersött. Klart bättre än utan mönster, men kanske lite för gulligt för mig.

Stämpel lacket var i alla fall suveränt att jobba med.

Today Sweden celebrates it's National Day so I hope all my fellow Swedes get a really great day. The weather certinaly seems to be on our side. 

I'm so totally tired after not listening to my body and maybe have made a little to many things the last couple of days so I think my day will be spent in the shadow under a tree in the garden. 

Remember Depend O2 484 that I showed last week, I was not particularly fond of the polish and wrote that I would fix some nail art on it.

I did with some help from a pattern from BP L015 and one of my new Hit The Bottle stamping polishes. I'm Thinking Of Blue is duochrome and is probably better over darker polishes but I felt like trying to use it over this pink anyway. And the result is sugar sweet. Clearly better than without pattern, but perhaps a little too cute for me.

The stamping polish was certainly great to work with anyway.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Video Games # 1

Blev inget läsarnas val igår. Just nu är vädret så himla fint så jag prioriterar att njuta av det istället för att måla naglarna. Alltså kan det bli lite luckor här på bloggen ett litet tag.

Men det är ny månad och nytt tema i The Nail Challenge Collaborative och denna gången är det TV-Spel vi ger oss på.

Vad jag skulle göra som första manikyr var inte svårt att klura ut. För ett av dom allra första spelen jag spelade på dator var nämligen Pacman. En klasskompis hade med sig en diskett och installerade det på våra skoldatorer. Vår lärare som var livrädd för dom nya tekniska konstigheterna blev vansinnig och helt övertygad om att han förstört varenda dator på hela skolan!

Så var ju definitivt inte fallet, men jag var fast och tyckte det var löjligt kul att spela.

Det här blev en enkel nail art, men för oss som känner till Pacman är den nog rätt uppenbar. Jag har använt mig av OPI My Twin Mimmy, Zoya Purity och A-England Camelot.

I didn't post any readers' choice yesterday. Right now the weather is so beautiful that my first priority is to enjoy it while it lasts instead of painting nails. And because of that there might be some gaps here on the blog for a while.

But it's a new month and a new theme in The Nail Challenge Collaborative and this time it's Video Games that we attack.

It was not hard for me to figure out what my first manicure would be. One of the very first games I played on a computer or actually the very first game I played was Pacman. A classmate had brought a floppy disk and installed it on our school computers. Our teacher were terrified of those new technical odd things and became insanly angry and totally convinced that he destroyed every computer in the entire school!

That was of course not the case, but I got hooked and thought it was ridiculous fun to play.

This is a simple nail art, but to us who know Pacman is probably pretty obvious what it is. I have used OPI My Twin Mimmy, Zoya Purity and A-England Camelot.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Purple #2

Det blir ytterligare ett lila Golden Oldie lack den här veckan och dessutom i kombination med Sminkans inofficiella holofredag.

Jag har plockat fram Color Club Eternal Beauty som är ett ganska blekt lila med helt galna regnbågar. Det är dessutom underbart att måla med och täcker på ett lager om man tar lite tjockare vilket jag gjorde. På bilderna har jag topplack också.

Dels så gillar jag verkligen färgen på dom här, jag gillar att det är ett mainstream märke som gett ut underbara holos, formulan är perfekt och som grädden på moset funkar hela den här kollektionen alldeles utmärkt att stämpla med.

Faktum är att jag inte kan hitta någonting som jag inte gillar med det här lacket.

 

This week you will get one more purple Golden Oldie polish and also in combination with Sminkans unofficial holofriday.

I have picked up Color Club Eternal Beauty that is a rather pale purple with crazy rainbows. Moreover, it is wonderful to paint with and covers in one coat if you take a little thicker which I did. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

I really like the color of this polish, I like that it's a mainstream brand that has a collection with wonderful Holos, the formula is perfect and as icing on the cake the whole collection works perfect for stamping.

In fact I can't find anything that I don't like about this polish.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Purple

Jag både älskar och hatar lacket som jag ska visa er idag. Temat denna veckan i Golden Oldie Challenge är lila och jag har plockat fram ett av mina favoriter nämligen A-England Avalon.

Jag har många lila favoriter, men det här var ett av mina första A-England lack och jag blev kär på en gång. Avalon är ett ganska skarpt lila lack med fantastiskt skimmer i röd/blått. Formulan är jättebra, men kanske inte så tjock som på många andra A-England lack. Jag har faktiskt tre lager på bilderna och så topplack på också.

Varför jag älskar lacket är väl kanske inte så svårt att förstå. Det är helt enkelt underbart vackert, men anledningen till att jag hatar det är att det är fullkomligt hopplöst att fånga på bild. För att få det någotsånär i närheten av hur det ser ut IRL så har jag sprungit runt hus och trädgård. Mixtrat med inställningar i kameran och ljussättning. För jag ville verkligen att ni skulle få se det här som den skönhet det verkligen är utan att fuska med färgen i Photoshop och därmed slippa illröda fingrar på bilderna. Det blev absolut inga mästerliga bilder, men ändå bilder som jag tycker visar färgen relativt ok och detta utan att jag har behövt busa till det med redigering.

I both love and hate the polish I'll show you today. The theme this week in Golden Oldie Challenge is purple and I have picked up one of my favorites A-England Avalon.

I have many purple favorites, but this was one of my first A-England polishes and I fell in love at first sight. Avalon is a pretty bright purple with amazing shimmer in red / blue. The formula is great, but maybe not as thick as in many other A-Englands. I actually have three layers in the images and topcoat on too.

Why I love the polish is perhaps not so difficult to understand. It is simply gorgeous and beautiful, but the reason I hate it is that it is utterly hopeless to capture on photo. To get it somewhat close to how it looks IRL I ran around the house and garden. Tinkered with the settings in the camera and lighting. Because I really wanted to be able to see the true beuaty in this as it looks in reality without cheating with the color in Photoshop and in that way also avoid bright red fingers in the pictures. The once i managed to get in the end is absolutly no masterpieces but I do think the shows the color relatively ok and without color editing.

Depend O2 - 484

Idag blir lite mesrosa här på bloggen. 484 är ett av lacken ur Depend O2s Colour POP kollektion som finns i butiker nu.

Lacket är ljust beigerosa med lite pärlemorfinish. Det var riktigt bra att måla med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack på också. 

Nä, det här tänker jag inte ens försöka lära mig att gilla. För mig är det här lite för mycket tantvarning. Själva färgen i sig är kanske inte så tokig, men jag gillar inte finishen ihop med färgen. Däremot tänker jag försöka piffa till det här med nailart, blir det lyckat så lär ni få se det här.

Today I will give you a softy pink polish. 484 is one of the polishes from the Depend O2 Colour POP collection that is available in stores now.

The polish is light beige pink with little pearly finish. It was really great to paint with and covers in two layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

No, I wont even try to learn to like this. For me this is a bit too much of a granny polish. The color itself is perhaps not so bad, but I don't like this color with this finish. However I intend to try to spice it up with nail art and if it will be a success you will get to see it later.

Stamping with Hit The Bottle Midninght Pumpkin

Jag fick hem ett paket för ett tag sen med Hit The Bottle stamping lack i. Jag har varit sugen på att testa dom här rätt länge. Har sett fantastiskt fina resultat med dom här lacken. Nu kunde jag inte hålla mig längre utan köpte ett par stycken. 

En av anledningarna till att jag varit så sugen på att prova är dels att dom verkar otroligt täckande och det finns färger som skulle kunna ersätta mina Mentality stamping lack som jag älskade, men slängde hela bunten av efter nagellossnings skandalen. Ett annat skäl är att dom är 5 free och luktar typ ingenting. 

Och jag kan direkt säga efter att dels ha testat på papper och dels med den här manikyren att det här verkar vara riktigt bra grejer. Så bra att jag faktiskt (fastän jag inte skulle..) har beställt ett gäng till. 

Nå i alla fall den här manikyren som jag har gjort är med China Glaze Riveting som bas, mönstret kommer från MoYou London Pro 03 och jag har stämplat med Midnight Pumpkin från Hit The Bottle. 

Midnight Pumpkin var riktigt bra att jobba med och ni ser ju hur bra det täcker på bilderna.

I received a package with some Hit The Bottle stamping polishes in a while ago. I have been eager to try this brand for a time. Have seen some amazing results with them in manicures. Well I could not keep myself from trying any longer and bought a few bottles.

One of the reasons that I have been so eager to try these are that they seem to cover incredibly well and there are colors that could replace my Mentality stamping polish that I loved, but threw the whole bundle of out after the scandal. Another reason is that they are 5 free and smells kind of nothing.

And I can directly say after having tested both on paper and partly with this manicure that this seems to be really good stuff. So good that I actually (although I shouldn't have ..) have ordered some more.

Well anyway this manicure that I have made is with China Glaze Riveting as a base, the pattern comes from MoYou London Pro 03 and I have stamped with Midnight Pumpkin from Hit The Bottle.

Midnight Pumpkin was really great to work with and you can see how good it covers in the pictures.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Spring Fashion # 4

Sista inlägget med vårmode inspirerade naglar. Det jag är speciellt nöjd med denna månaden är att jag använt mig av fyra olika typer av nail art till mina manikyrer. Började med vattendekaler, sen dry brush, ränder med nail vinyls och nu till slut stämpling.

Faktum är att jag hade målat med Superficially Colorful Lacquers I'm Just A Little Batty och kände att det nästan krävde att jag stämplade med silver på det. Så jag fick helt enkelt leta reda på ett klädesplagg som stämde överens med detta. På Zalando hittade jag en klänning från Vero Moda som passade ypperligt till detta.

Klänningen är svart i botten och har sen gråa/silvriga trollsländor tryckt på tyget. Tänka sig att jag råkade ha ett mönster med trollsländor på Uberchic 4-01 som jag stämplade över I'm Just A Little Batty med MoYou London Silver Dust.

Satt och log stort när jag gjorde den här manikyren för att jag blev så himla nöjd. Svart och silver är så himla fint ihop. Och tolkningen av klänningen är ju rätt spot-on.

Last post with spring fashion inspired nails. What I am particularly pleased with this month is that I have used four different types of nail art techniques for my manicures. I began with water decals, then dry brush after that striped nails with the help of vinyls and now finally stamping.

In fact, I had painted with Superficially Colorful Lacquers I'm Just A Little Batty and felt that it almost demanded that I did some stamping with silver on it. So I simply had to look for a piece of clothing that was consistent with that. On Zalando, I found a dress from Vero Moda that suited excellent for this purpose.

The dress is black and has gray / silver dragonflies printed on the fabric. And can you imagine that I happened to have a stamping plate with dragonflie pattern on laying around. Uberchic 4-01 and I have stamped over I'm Just A Little Batty with MoYou London Silver Dust.

I sat and had a big smile on my face when I did this manicure because I was so very pleased with it. Black and silver works so amazingly well together. And the interpretation of the dress's pretty spot-on.

Reader's Choice - Picture Polish Holiday

Lördag och dags för veckans läsarnas val inlägg. Dagen i övrigt är som en oskriven bok. Inget planerat och det känns väldigt skönt.

Förra veckan röstade ni fram Picture Polish Holiday som vinnare i omröstningen. Jag funderade på vad jag skulle använda för basfärg till det här lacket, för Holiday i sig själv kan man kanske få att täcka på egen hand, men det ser bra mycket bättre ut över något annat och helst något mörkare.

Min tanke var att jag skulle lägga det över något mörkgrönt, men i sista sekund ändrade jag mig och målade på svart.

Picture Polish Holiday är ett Limited Editon lack som faktiskt har numrerade flaskor vilket jag tycker är lite roligt. Min flaska har #1078 och allt som allt så finns det 1592 flaskor. På naglarna får det här lacket som ser beigeaktigt ut i flaskan en fantastiskt fin holoeffekt och sen finns där även prismatiska flakies i det.

Jag har låtit min flaska stå ett tag för att jag ärligt talat inte trodde jag skulle vara så imponerad av det här, men jag hade väldigt fel. Holiday är verkligen superfint och det perfekta lacket att piffa till vilket lack som helst som man tycker blev lite trist på naglarna.

Så himla glad att jag har den här flaskan.

Till nästa vecka blir det blåa alternativ att rösta på.

Saturday and time for this week's Readers' Choice post. The rest of the day is like an open book for me. Nothing planned, and it feels very good.

Last week you voted for Picture Polish Holiday as the winner in the poll. I thought about what I would use as the base color for this polish becuase Holiday in itself can maybe cover on its own, but it looks much better layered over something else and preferably something darker.

My thought was that I would put it over something dark green, but in the last minute I changed my mind and painted in black.

Picture Polish Holiday is a Limited Editon polish that actually has numbered bottles, which I think is great. My bottle is # 1078 and all in all there are 1592 bottles. On the nails this polish, that looks beige in the bottle, has a fantastic holoeffect and then there are also prismatic flakies in it.

I have let my bottle stand for a while because I honestly thought I wouldn't be that impressed by this, but I was very wrong. Holiday is really super nice and the perfect polish to spice up a polish that didn't looks as fun as you expected.

So very glad I have this bottle.

For the next week you will get blue polishes to vote for. 

Depend O2 - 489

Att Depend har två olika kollektioner ute samtidigt är inget konstigt, men att dom har samma siffror på lacken i dom olika kollektionerna fastän det är helt olika lack tycker jag är lite jobbigt faktiskt. Kunde dom inte i alla fall haft en bokstav innan eller något på lacken i O2 kollektionen.

I alla fall så är det Depend O2 489 som jag visar för er idag. Hann inte riktigt med att fixa något holo till denna fredagen.

O2 489 är ett jättefint mintgrönt krämlack. Täcker på två lager och torkar fort. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Alltså det här finns egentligen inte så mycket att säga om. Det är ett mintgrönt krämlack och som vanligt så gillar jag det skarpt precis som jag gör med de flesta andra mintgröna lacken jag har. En trevlig färg på ett lack som var trevligt att jobba med.

That Depend has two different collections at the same time is nothing strange, but that they have the same numbers of the polishes in the different collections, although it is completely different polishes is a bit awkward actually. Could they at least put some kind of letter before the number or something like that in the O2 collection.

In any case, this is Depend O2 489 that I show you today. Didn't really have time to paint with a holo this Friday. 

O2 489 is a very nice mint green cream polish. It covers in two coats and dries quickly. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

So there is really not that much to say about this. It's a mint green cream polish and as usual, I like it a lot just like I do with most other mint-green polishes I have. A nice color on a polish  that was nice to work with.

Summary of Superficially Colorful Lacquers Halloween collection 2015

Kan kanske tyckas lite konstigt att göra en sammanställning av en Halloweenkollektion i Maj, men jag är inte alltid så snabb på att använda alla lacken i en kollektion och ärligt talat så är det inte ofta jag köper hela kollektioner.

Men den här köpte jag i sin helhet. Dock är det enbart fyra lack i den vilket jag tycker är lite lagom faktiskt.

Den finns fortfarande att köpa hos Superficially Colorful Lacquer och jag tycker verkligen det är vackra lack så jag ville gärna summera lacken i den ordningen som jag tyckte bäst om dom.

You might think it's a bit strange to do a summary of a Halloween collection i May, but I'm not that fast when it comes to using all of the polishes from a collection and to be honest it's not that often that I buy all of the polishes from collections. 

But this one I did. Well it's only four polishes in it and I really like small collections. 

All of these polishes is still available at Superficially Colorful Lacquer and I really enjoyed all of the polishes so therefore I wanted to give you a summery of them and I will list them with polish I liked best first and so on. 

 

May Haul

Maj har varit en rätt lugn månad när det gäller lackinköp, jag vet att jag skrev att den skulle bli lugnare än April, men sen kom det ju en blogsale och förstörde det lite grann.

Precis som i April så visar jag enbart lack i detta inlägg som jag själv har köpt. Det blev lite från Rainbow Connection, från en blogsale och så några från Dreamland Lacquer där vissa är exklusiva för en Facebook grupp jag är med i.

Ni kanske undrar varför jag lägger upp det här inlägget innan Maj är slut, men jag vet att jag inte har ett endaste lack på ingång, så jag kan lika gärna posta det här nu.

May has been a fairly calm month when it comes to buying polishes. I know that I wrote that May should be calmer than April, but I found a blogsale that kind of ruined that. 

Just like the April haul post I will only show polishes that I bought for my own money in here. I have bought some stuff from Rainbow Connection, the blog sale I mentioned and some from Dreamland Lacquer were some are exklusives for a Facebook group I'm a member of. 

You might wonder why I post this before May is even over, but the fact is that I know that I don't have a single polish on it's way to me so I figured that I could post this now.
