Idag visar jag ett lack från Depends sommarkollektion Sunny Days.

Det här är nr 487 ett ljust nästan isblått lack med lite metallic känsla och nästan lite pärlemorkänsla också.

Det var smidigt att jobba med och täcker på två lager utan problem. Torktiden var bra, på bilderna har jag topplack på.

Färgen är rätt fin faktiskt, kan tänka mig att använda det här till en hel del vinter nail art, men som med andra metallic lack blir det lätt synliga penseldrag i lacket. Dock vill jag säga att dom är betydligt mindre tydliga i verkligheten än på bilderna.

Det jag inte gillar med lacket är den lilla pärlemoeffekten som ändå finns där.

Today I show you a polish from Depends summer collection Sunny Days.

This is number 487 a light almost ice blue polish with a metallic feel and almost a little pearl feeling to it as well.

It was easy to work with and covers in two layers without problems. The drying time was good and in the pictures I have a topcoat on.

The color is actually pretty nice I can imagine using this for a lot of winter nail art, but as with other metallic polishes there are visible brush strokes in it. However I would say that they are much less clear in reality than in the pictures.

What I don't like about the polishis  the little pearl effect that is in it. Not really my thing. 

OPI - Kiss Me Or Elf

Igår blev det tyst här på bloggen. Jag valde att ligga ute i solen med en bra bok som sällskap istället.

Idag tänkte jag visa er lacket som jag bar när vi var i Linköping i helgen. Eftersom jag (som vanligt) skulle bära mörka kläder på kvällens evenemang ville jag ha lite färg på naglarna och det visade sig att OPI Kiss Me Or Elf gick väldigt bra ihop med min blus, så det fick det bli.

Kiss Me Or Elf är inte lila, inte vinrött och inte rosa. Heter det Fuchsia kanske? Ärligt talat så är jag inte så bra på det där med färgnamn, men vi säger att det är fuchsia färgat och det har dessutom ett jättefint skimmer.

Jag har två lager + topplack på bilderna och jag tycker det funkade ok. Det var smidigt att lacka med och torkade fort.

Det här är faktiskt grymt snyggt på naglarna. Jag kände mig verkligen jättesnygg i det och ångrar absolut inte mitt val av lack till finsittningen vi var på.

 

It got a bit silent here on the blog yesterday. I chose to lie out in the sun with a good book as my companion instead.

Today I will show you the polish that I wore when we were in Linköping last weekend. Since I (as usual) was going to wear dark clothes on the evening events, I wanted to have a little color on the nails and it turned out that OPI Kiss Me Or Elf worked very well with my blouse so that's the polish I chosed. 

Kiss Me Or Elf is not purple, not wine red and not pink. Could the color name be Fuchsia perhaps? Honestly, I'm not very good with color names, but let's call it fuchsia colored and it also has a very nice shimmer in it. 

I have two coats + top coat in the pictures and I think it worked out well that way. It was easy to paint with and dried quickly.

This is actually so gorgeous on the nails. I felt very stylish in it and certainly doesn't  regret my choice of polish for the fine dinner we attended.

Återigen har jag hittat en klänning hos Ellos, men denna gången en InWear klänning som jag blivit inspirerad av.

Basen är Zoya Purity som jag sen gjort mönstret med hjälp av dry brush teknik. Lacken jag använt till färgerna är: China Glaze Man Hunt, A-England Camelot och OPI Cement The Deal.

Det här är inte den vackraste manikyren jag gjort, men jag tycker om den och tycker absolut att den representerar klänningen på ett bra sätt.

Again, I found a dress at Ellos, but this time an InWear dress that I was inspired by.

The base is Zoya Purity which I then made pattern on top by using the dry brush technique. The polishes I used for the colors are: China Glaze Man Hunt, A-England Camelot and OPI Cement The Deal.

This is not the most beautiful manicure I've done, but I kind of like it and definitely think it represents the dress in a good way.

Reader's Choice - Zoya Eastyn

Idag ska vi åka till Linköping för att äntligen få träffa äldste sonen igen. Mannen och jag tar en roadtrip genom vårt land medans yngste grabben tog tåget redan igår.

Men som vanligt blir det ett inlägg med veckans läsarnas val lack först. Ännu en väldigt jämn omröstning som slutade med att Zoya Eastyn som vinnare.

Eastyn är svårt att beskriva. Det tillhör Whispers kollektionen som är lack menade att ha i övergången mellan vinter och vår. Färgen är lila, men en väldigt, väldigt dammig en. Nästan grått, skitsnygg men ändå väldigt neutral.

Två lager är nog för täckning och på bilderna har jag topplack på.

Jag gillar verkligen den här färgen, så himla diskret, men ändå så annorlunda på något sätt. Väldigt klädsam på naglarna och inte alls nödvändig att bara bära mellan vinter och vår utan när man vill enligt mig.

Till nästa vecka blir det olika nyanser och finishar av grönt som ni får rösta på.

 

Today we're going to Linköping to finally meet our eldest son again. My husband and will take a roadtrip through our country while the youngest one took the train yesterday.

But as usual there will be a post with this week's Readers' Choice first. Another very close vote that ended with Zoya Eastyn as the winner.

Eastyn is hard to describe. It belongs to the Whispers collection that is meant to be a transition collection between winter and spring. The color is purple, but a very, very dusty one. Almost gray, really good looking yet extremely neutral.

Two coats are enough for coverage and in the pictures I have topcoat on.

I really like this color, so very discreet, yet so different in some way. Very nice on the nails and not at all necessary to just wear between winter and spring. You can wear it whenever you feel like it. 

For the next week there will be different shades and finishes of green that you can vote on.

Depend 480 & 486

Jag frågade min familj vilka lack jag skulle testa från Depends nya kollektioner och dom plockade ut 480 & 486 så det var bara att börja fundera på hur jag ville kombinera dom här två.

480 är ett gult krämlack. En fin gul nyans, men tyvärr inte så kul att måla med. Jag har tre lager på de gula naglarna och jag upplevde att det fortfarande var strimmigt efter dom tre lagren. Inget ovanligt för gula lack, men jag har definitivt testat bättre måste jag säga.

486 är ett lite dammigt lila krämlack. Mycket fin färg i mitt tycke och det här var desto roligare att måla med. Har man korta naglar är jag rätt säker på att ett lager räcker, men jag har två och topplack på bilderna.

Jag började med att måla varannan nagel lila och gul, men ville göra något mer så jag använde lite vinyler för att få fram ett Chevron mönster. Jag satte dom på de helt torkade gula naglarna och la på ett lager med lila. Tog bort vinylerna, la på ett nytt lager topplack och så var manikyren färdig.

Det blev visst lite påskkänsla över den här manikyren, men den blev bra tycker jag!

I asked my family what polishes I should try first from Depends new collections and they picked out 480 & 486 so I just had to start thinking about how I wanted to combine those two.

480 is a yellow cream polish. A nice shade of yellow, but unfortunately not so fun to paint with. I have three layers on the yellow nails and I felt that it was still streaky after the three layers. Nothing unusual for a yellow polish, but I definitely tried better once I must say.

486 is a little dusty purple creme. Very nice color in my opinion and this was more fun to paint with. If you have short nails, I'm pretty sure that one coat could be enough but I have two and a topcoat on the images.

I started to paint every other nail purple and yellow, but wanted to do something more so I used some vinyls to produce a chevron pattern. I put them on the completely dried yellow nails and did one layer of purple. Removed the vinyls added a new layer of topcoat and the manicure was done.

I kind of got a little Easter feeling over this manicure, but I think it turned out very nice!

OPI Retro Summer - Bottle Shots

Häromdagen dök det ner ett trevligt paket med delar av OPIs Retro Summer kollektion till mig.

Kollektionen släpps i slutet på Maj här i Sverige, men jag vet tyvärr inte om eller när den släpps i övriga länder.

Den består av 6 stycken krämlack i ganska mjuka sommarfärger. Kanske inte den mest spännande kollektionen, men jag tycker ändå om den eftersom jag oftast gillar krämlack från OPI.

Själv hade jag mest sett fram emot det blåa, gula och korallfärgade lacken, men jag har inte dom själv utan i mitt paket låg de tre andra lacken. På ett sett är det kul för just dom här hade jag inte köpt själv tror jag, men det ska bli väldigt kul att prova dom.

Vilka ser ut att bli era favoriter från kollektionen?

The other day I got a parcel with parts of OPIs Retro Summer collection. 

The collection will be released in the end of May here in Sweden but unfortunaly I have no idea when it will be available in other countries. 

It consist of 6 creme polishes in soft summer shades. Maybe not the most exiting collection, but I still like it since I usually really like OPI creme polishes. 

I was mostly looking forward of the blue, yellow and coral polises, but in my package was the other three. In one way I like that because these are the once I probably wouldn't buy on my own and this way I will still get to try them.

Depend Summer Collections Bottle Shots

Igår fick jag ett paket med Depends båda sommarkollektioner. Det man kanske inte tänker på när det gäller Depend är att dom har två olika kollektioner eller tre om man räknar med 7 Days också, men dom jag tänkte på är "vanliga" Depend som säljs bl.a på ICA, Cubus, HM & Lindex. Sen finns det ju även Depend O2 som man hittar hos Kicks, Åhlens och vissa apotek.

Depend O2 kollektionen heter Colour POP och består av 12 lack i olika finishar och blandat med både skarpa färger, pasteller och neutrala.

Den andra kollektionen heter Sunny Days och är också 12 lack som också fått en bra blandning mellan färgtoner och finishar.

Bägge ska finnas i butik någon gång under v 18.

Yesterday I got a delivery with Depends two summer collections. You might not think of the fact that Depend actually have two different collection with minibottles or actually three if you count 7 Days as well. But I was thinking about the "regular" ones that you find in various of stores here in Sweden and other countries. It's Depend and Depend O2 and in Sweden there are different stores that sells the collections. So you rarely find both of them in the same place. 

The Depend O2 collection is calld Colour POP and has 12 polishes in different finishes mixed with both sharp colors, pastels and neutrals. 

The other collection is called Sunny Days and is also 12 different polishes that also has got a good mixture between color range and finishes. 

These two will be available in stores during week 18.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Pink

Denna veckan börjar en ny utmaning som jag valt att kalla Golden Oldie Challenge. Man kan ju kanske tycka att använda sina gamla godingar inte borde vara en utmaning, men det blir faktiskt det när man hela tiden fyller på med nya juveler i sin samling och lackmängden bara ökar och ökar.

Därför tyckte jag att det var dags att visa sina äldre redan använda lack lite kärlek. Varje vecka är tilldelad en färg, man väljer själv vilken dag eller vilka dagar man vill publicera sitt inlägg.

Första veckan är färgen rosa och jag bestämde mig för att jag ville visa lack som faktiskt går att få tag på fortfarande i alla fall är min intention denna, sen kan det förstås ändra sig om jag inte har en gammal goding stående som fortfarande finns.

Så idag valde jag att visa Zoya Rory som mitt rosa lack. Rory kommer från Surf kollektionen som vår sommarkollektion 2012. En av de första kollektionerna som jag köpte i sin helhet.

Jag har faktiskt använt det här lacket en hel del. Inte så mycket på egen hand kanske, men till nail art och kanske främst då till våra rosa veckor i Oktober.

Det här är ett Zoya lack som visar varför märket tillhör mina favoriter. Underbart att måla med och nästan täckande på ett lager, men jag har två på bilderna och topplack.

Rory är ett rosa lack med fantastiskt silver skimmer i sig. Jag gillar verkligen det här lacket och det var ett av de första rosa som jag började uppskatta.

 

This week is the start of a new challenge that I decided to call the Golden Oldie Challenge. You might think that using your golden oldies should not be a challenge, but it actually becomes one when you constantly is getting new jewels to your collection and the amount of polishes only increases and increases.

Therefore, I thought it was time to show the older already used polishes a little love. Each week has an assigned color and you choose which day or days you want to publish your posts.

Pink is the first weeks color and I decided that I wanted to show polishes that actually is possible to still buy, well that is at least my intention it might change of course if I dont have an oldie in the color needed that is still available. 

So today I decided to show Zoya Rory as my pink polish. Rory comes from the Surf collection that was released the summer of 2012. One of the first collections I bought in its entirety.

I've actually used this polish a lot. Not so much on it's own, but in ceveral nail arts and perhaps primarily during our pink weeks in October.

This is an Zoya polish that shows why the brand is one of my favorites. Wonderful to paint with and almost opaque in one coat,  but I have two in the images and topcoat.

Rory is a pink polish with stunning silver shimmer in it. I really like this polish and it was one of the first pink that I began to appreciate.

Review Clear Jelly Stamper from Born Pretty Store

Idag har jag en test av både en Clear Jelly Stamper och stampinglack från Born Pretty Store som skickats till mig för recension.

Först av allt vill jag dock säga att det här blir den tredje Clear Jelly stampern som jag testar från ett billigare märke än vad originalet är och jag har i och för sig inte testat den dyrare förstautgåvan, men jag ser ingen anledning att lägga mycket pengar på en sån här när de här nästan löjligt billiga faktiskt funkar helt suveränt.

Ja, där fick ni svaret på om jag tycker att stämpeln funkar. Det gör den alltså. Utan några som helst problem. Det enda jag gjorde innan jag använde den var att rulla den lätt över en klädvårdsrulle, sen körde jag. Den plockade upp mönstret utan några som helst problem. Visst det är lite teknik, man får liksom rulla och trycka något hårdare än med t.ex Creative stämpeln, men är man inte van vid att stämpla är det bara lite övning som krävs för att lyckas.

Jag är alltså mycket nöjd med den här.

Stämpellacket blev jag lite fundersam på när jag fick för det står nämligen på flaskan att det är Liquid Peel Off i den vilket det helt klart inte är. Jag visste ju att dom skulle skicka lack och färgen på innehållet i flaskan stämmer då rakt inte överens med något annat än stämpellack.

Det var helt ok lukt på det här lacket, men jag har inte någon innehållsförteckning så jag misstänker att det kanske inte är 3 Free, men jag ska låta det vara osagt. Konsistensen var något tjockare än på ett vanligt lack precis som det ska vara på ett stämpellack. Färgen är riktigt härlig och den var smidig att jobba med och följde lätt med upp på stämpeln. Jag har dock inte testat den över mörkare färger, men misstänker att den borde funka bra även där.

Allt som allt så är jag dels helt nöjd med hur den här manikyren blev och jag är mycket nöjd med materialet som användes. Mönstret kommer förresten från BP L020.

Sent out for review

Today I have a test of both a Clear Jelly Stamper and stamping polish from Born Pretty Store that was sent to me for review.

First of all I want to say that this will be the third Clear Jelly stamper that I try from a cheaper brand than the original is I have not tested the more expensive original, but I see no need to spend much money on one of the more expensive once when this ridiculously cheap actually works quite superb.

Well, there you got the answer if I think the stamp works. It certinaly does. Without any problems. The only thing I did before I used it was to roll gently over a lint roller and then I was good to go. It picked up the pattern without any problems. Sure it's a little different technique you need to use if you compare to for example the Creative one. This you need to roll and push a little bit harder than the squishy once. You will soon get a hang of it. Just practice.

I am therefore very pleased with this.

The stamping polish got me a bit confused when I got it. Because on the bottle it says that it is Liquid Peel Off in it which it clearly isn't. I knew that they would send polish and the color makes me convinced that it is stamping polish and no peel off.

It was an ok smell of this polish, but I don't have a table of contents so I suspect that it  may not be 3 Free, but I'll leave it unsaid. The texture was slightly thicker than a normal polish just as it should be on a stamping one. The color is really lovely and it was easy to work with and easily followed up on the stamp. However, I have not tested it over any darker colors, but suspect that it should work well there too.

All in all, I am one completely happy with how this manicure turned out and I am very satisfied with the material used. The pattern comes from BP L020.

April Haul

April var en väldigt lugn månad när det kommer till lackinköp och Maj kommer att bli det också är det tänkt, men några snyggingar dök det i alla fall in och dom kan ni ju får se.

Det kom lite andra lack också, men det var inte sådana som jag köpt själv och därför tar jag inte med dom här.

April was a very calm month when it came to polishbuying and I will keep May calm too. Well at least that is my intention. But some pretty bottles turned up in my mailbox and I want to show you them.

Well it did turn up some more polishes, but in this post I decided to show you only the once I have purchased on my own.

Depend 7 Days - TLC Tender Loving Care with waterdecals

Det var mycket neutrala färger i Depend 7 Days sommarkollektion och jag tycker väl i och för sig att det är snyggt, men kanske inte så kul, så jag bestämde mig för att pigga upp TLC Tender Loving Care med vattendekaler från Lady Queen.

Om vi börjar med lacket så har jag två lager av det plus topplack. Första lagret blev något strimmigt, men jag tycker det rättade till sig bra på andra. Eftersom jag sällan har mina lack mer än två dagar kan jag tyvärr inte uttala mig om hållbarheten, men färgen är fin tycker jag då jag mer och mer har börjat uppskatta den här typen av lack.

Dom var smidiga att jobba med och släppte lätt från skyddspappret. Jag tycker att det här som helhet blev en bra manikyr. Ett neutralt lack som blev lite rockigare på en gång.

It was a lot of very neutral colors in Depend 7 Days summer collection and even if I like the colors it's maybe not that fun for a summer collection so I decided to brighten up  TLC Tender Loving Care with water decals from Lady Queen.

If we start with the polish, I have two layers plus topcoat. The first layer was somewhat streaky, but I think it corrected it self well in the second. Since I rarely have my polish on more than two days I really can't say anything about the sustainability, but the color is nice, I think that I more and more have started to appreciate this kind of colors.

They were easy to with and came of easily from the protecting paper. I think that this turned out as a really good manicure. A neutral polish that turned into rock n' roll.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Spring Fashion # 1

Ny månad och nytt tema i The Nail Challenge Collaborative. Denna gången blev det Spring Fashion eller som vi svenskar skulle säga Vår Mode.

Jag är inte direkt någon modemänniska, men att hitta inspiration på nätet var ju inte så värst svårt.

Första inspirationsbilden hittade jag på Ellos i form av en Dry Lake klänning med fjädermönster. Mycket passande hade jag fått ett ark med vattendekaler med just fjädrar på bland grejerna som Maria på Purrfect Pawlish skickade ut till mig för att prova.

Jag la OPI It's In The Cloud som bas och la sedan dit fjäderdekalerna. Avslutade med topplack.

De här dekalerna var mycket enkla att jobba med, enda problemet var att jag la ner allihopa i vattnet samtidigt och hade inte riktigt tänkt på att dom skulle lossna så lätt från pappret dom sitter på. Så mitt tips är lägg inte ner alla på en gång utan ett par i taget.

Jag gillar hur den här manikyren blev. Söt, men ändå lite häftig på något sätt. Jag gillar klänningen också.

New month and a new theme in The Nail Challenge Collaborative. This time it's Spring Fashion that I will do four manicures inspired of. 

I'm not exactly a fashion person, but to find inspiration online was not very difficult at all. 

The first inspiration picture I found on a Swedish site called Ellos in the form of a Dry Lake dress with feather patterns. In the package that I recieved from Purrfect Pawlish full of nail art stuff was a sheet of waterdecals with feathers. Perfect for this occasion. 

I put OPI It's In The Cloud as the base and added the decals. Finished with a topcoat.

These decals were very easy to work with, the only problem was that I put down all of them in the water at the same time and had not really thought that they would come off so easily from the paper they are sitting on as they did. So my advice is don't put down all at once, but a few at a time.

I like how this manicure look. Sweet, yet a little cool in some way. I like the dress too.
