Orly - Ignite

Jag har svårt att motstå vanliga klassiska röda lack och det är precis vad Orly Ignite är. Ett härligt rött crelly. Det är ju då också förstås lacket jag hade som underkläder till China Glaze Lubu Heels.

Crelly är inte riktigt min favoritfinish att måla med, men det här var helt ok. Jag har tre lager på. Torktiden var lite seg tyckte jag, men det kan lika gärna vara att man börjar bli bortskämd av alla snabbtorkande lack man har.

Det är en helt fantastisk glans i det här lacket. På bilderna ser ni det utan topplack. Finns egentligen inte så mycket mer att säga om det här. Förutom att det är fint och att jag gillar det.

 

I find it hard to resist a classic red polish and that is exactly what Orly Ignite is. A beautiful red crelly. It' also the polish that I wore under China Glaze Lubu Heels.

Crelly is not really my favorite finish to paint with, but this was quite ok. I have three layers on. The drying time was a bit slow I thought, but it might as well be that I'm getting spoiled by all quick-drying polishes.

It is an absolutely amazing shine in this polish. In the pictures you can see it without topcoat. There really is not much more to say about this. Besides it's nice and I like it.

ABC Challenge - C = China Glaze Lubu Heels

Idag är det ABC Challenge och bokstaven som gäller är C. Lacket jag tänker visa är ännu en av mina Lemmings som fått stå och vänta alldeles för länge nämligen China Glaze Lubu Heels. Ett lack som jag vet att jag frågade efter i vår bytargrupp och finaste Cactus skänkte ett till mig eftersom hon hade dubbelt.

Det här är ett svart lack med rött glitter i. Om man lägger det på egen hand så drunknar nästan de röda fina glittren i det svarta, visst det är supersnyggt på egen hand också, men jag valde att göra som många andra och lägga det över ett rött lack istället. På det viset framträder glittret bättre.

Det här är bara ett lager över det röda och jag måste säga att jag älskar resultatet. Ljuvligt snyggt. Torktiden var helt ok och jag har ett lager med Digital Flash över också.

Det här är för mig ett klassiskt China Glaze lack som jag tycker är helt underbart. CG när dom är som allra bäst.

Today is ABC Challenge day and the letter is C. The polish I will show you today is also one that was a big lemming for me that has been standing a long time in my drawer. It's China Glaze Lubu Heels that I'm talking about. A polish that I know I asked for in of our swapgroups and Cactus was a darling and gave it to med because she had two of them.

This is a black polish with red glitter. If you use it on it's own you wont see so much of the red glitter because it does drown a bit in the black, sure it's super nice that way too, but I chose to do as many others and layer it over a red polish instead. In this way the glitter appears better.

This is just one layer of Lubu Heels over the red and I must say I love the result. Incredibly nice. The drying time was quite ok and I have a layer of Digital Flash over too.

This is for me a classic China Glaze polish which I think is absolutely wonderful. CG when they are at their very best.

3-Years Anniversary and Giveaway! CLOSED

Idag för 3 år sedan postade jag mitt första inlägg. Tänk vad mycket man har hunnit lära sig på dom här tre åren och vad mycket man varit med om. Och så många fina människor man lärt känna också.

I mitt första inlägg så skrev jag att jag hade läst någonstans att man inte var en riktig nörd förrän man hade över 100 lack. Det hade jag inte då, sen den dagen har samlingen eskalerat och nu är den uppe i över 600 så nu titulerar jag mig stolt för Nagellacksnörd.

Jag älskar fortfarande att hålla på med det här. Jag älskar att kolla statistiken på om någon varit inne och faktiskt läst vad jag skrivit eller kanske lämnat en kommentar så jag hoppas att jag ska fortsätta att blogga ett bra tag till.

I alla fall så vill jag ju givetvis fira den här dagen med er mina fina läsare. Och det gör jag genom att ge bort lite av mina favoritsaker.

Today is my 3 years anniversary! I have learned so much during these three years and been through both up and downs. And just think about all these wonderful persons that I've learnt to know by having this blog.

In my first post I wrote that I had read somewhere that you weren't a true nerd until you had over 100 polish bottles. I didn't have that many at that time but since that day,the collection has escalated and now I have over 600 so I'm proud to introduce myself as a Nailpolish Nerd.

I still love doing this. I love to check the statistics to see if anyone has reed my posts or maybe even left a comment so I hope I will continue to blog for quite a while.

In any case of course I want to celebrate this day with you my lovely readers. And the best way is of course to give away some of my favorite things.

First Haul of 2015!

Jodå, det har dykt in en del lack redan och jag har några på väg också. Undrar om inte jag skrev att jag skulle försöka minska flödet i år också. Inte helt säker på att det kommer lyckas.

Läsarnas Val / Reader's Choice - Smitten Polish Harold's Crayon

Jag är faktiskt lite överraskad över att Smitten Polish Harold's Crayon vann förra veckans röstning för jag var ganska övertygad om att Hits Unconventional skulle göra det. Och det var jämt kan jag lova.

Men nu är det Harold's Crayon som vann och jag måste ju säga att det är ett mycket vackert lack. Lila med en fin holoeffekt, men även fint utan solen skinande på naglarna och det är ju tur för så värst mycket sol har inte jag sett till på ett tag.

Jag fick lägga tre lager för bra täckning, men det var smidigt att lacka med och torkar fort så inga problem för min del. Ett lager med Digital Flash har jag på också.

Jag gillar verkligen den här lite mörkare lila färgen. Tycker den är riktigt snygg och faktiskt ganska vilsam också. Den är inte precis en unik färg. Jag har en del liknande, men Smitten lacken är så bra att måla med tycker jag så jag är väldigt glad att jag har det här lacket i min samling.

Eftersom nästa lördag råkar vara Alla Hjärtans Dag så bad jag sonen att välja ut tre stycken röda lack som ni har att rösta på.

I'm actually a little surprised that Smitten Polish Harold's Crayon won last week's poll because I was pretty convinced that Hits Unconventional would do that. But it wasn't many votes that seperated them.

But it was Harold's Crayon that won and I have to say that it is a very beautiful polish. Purple with a nice holographic effect, but also beautiful without the sun shining on the nails and that is lucky for the sun hasn't show it self very much lately where I live.

I had to put three coats on for good coverage, but it was easy to paint with and dries quickly so no problem for me. I also have a layer of Digital Flash on top.

I really like this little darker purple color. Think it's really neat and actually quite restful too. It's not a unique color. I have some similar, but Smitten has great polishes that are really nice to work with so I'm very glad that I have this in my collection. 

Since next Saturday is Valentine's Day I asked my son to choose three red polishes for you to vote for. 

Eternal Swirls!

Ibland får man en snilleblixt och det anser jag att jag fick när jag målat med Artdeco 144. Det kändes som att det behövdes piggas upp lite grann och jag fick en bild i mitt huvud hur fint det skulle bli med någon typ av stämpling med hjälp av Color Club Eternal Beauty över.

När man får sådana där idéer är det bara att genast genomföra dom. Just den här gången var en sån där när allting bara blev precis som jag ville faktiskt. Jag plockade fram Eternal Beauty och hittade ett mönster på en platta från Mash med nummer 04 som jag kände skulle bli bra. Och det blev det också!

Jag är så grymt nöjd med den här manikyren. Den blev faktiskt precis som jag hade tänkt mig den eller kanske lite bättre faktiskt.

Sometimes an idea just pops up in your head that you need to try out at once. And that is what happened when I had painted with Artdeco 144. I felt like spicing up that manicure a bit and I got a picture in my head how nice it would be with any type of stamping using Color Club Eternal Beauty.

When you get those ideas you just immediately implement them. This time it was one of those times when everything just became just as I wanted it. I picked up Eternal Beauty and found a pattern on a plate from Mash with number 04 which I felt would be fine. And boy was I right!

I am so incredibly satisfied with this manicure. It actually turned out exactly as I had imagined it, or maybe a bit better actually.

ABC Challenge - B = Butter London The Black Knight

Vi är på bokstaven B i vår ABC Challenge och idag är det ett lack som absolut inte blivit stående för att det känns lite tråkigt. Nä, nästan tvärtom för det här var länge en av mina största lemmings. Jag pratar om Butter London The Black Knight.

Ett lack som jag önskade mig alldeles otroligt mycket. Jag fick det genom ett byte och sen gjorde jag som alltid med dom där lacken som jag trånat efter. Jag lät det stå, för tänk om man målar med det och det inte alls visar sig vara sådär fint som jag tänkt mig! Jo, för besvikelsen blir ju lättare att ta för att man väntar ett år eller två...

Blev jag besviken då? Nä, inte alls för det här är väldigt fint. Absolut min stil på lack. Och jag är väldigt glad att jag äntligen har det på naglarna för det är värt så mycket mer än att bli stående i en låda.

The Black Knight är svart med massvis av glitter i olika färger, men kanske mest blått och rosa kanske man kan säga eller är det lila. Lacket var ganska tjockt, men jag gillar ju det så för min del är det inga problem. Och tycker man det är jobbigt kan man alltid tunna ut det. Ändå kände jag att jag ville ha tre lager för att det skulle kännas riktigt bra. Torktiden var bra. Jag har ett lager med Digital Flash över, men ett lager till lär nog behövas imorgon känns det som.

We are on the letter B in our ABC Challenge and today I will show you a polish that absolutely not has been standing collecting dust because I feel it looks a bit boring. Nah, almost contrary, for this was long one of my biggest lemmings. I'm talking about Butter London The Black Knight.

A polish that I wanted real bad. I got it through a swap and then I did what I always do with those polishes that I longed for most. I waited to use it, because what if you paint with it and it does not at all prove to be so so nice as I expected! Well, actually I don't think the disappointment becomes less after letting the polish stand waiting a year or two ...

Was I disappointed then? No, not at all because this is very nice. Absolutely my style of polish. And I'm very happy that I finally have it on my nails because it is worth so much more than being stranded in a box.

The Black Knight is black with lots of glitter in different colors, but perhaps the most blue and pink, you might say or is it purple. The polish was pretty thick, but I do like it so for me it's no problem. And it's really no problem to thin it out if you want to. Yet I felt that I wanted to have three layers for me to feel that it had covered completely. The drying time was good. I have a layer of Digital Flash over, but another layer will probably be needed tomorrow because after all this is glitter and it's eating the top coat.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Animals - Zebra

Jag fick för ett tag sedan hem The Lacquerologist Nail Art bok och blev genast sugen på att testa göra Zebranaglar utan att använda stamping som jag brukar göra. Först och främst vill jag för övrigt rekommendera den boken. Mycket bra och enkel att följa för att göra lite mer Freehand Nail Art.

I alla fall så var det ju dessutom perfekt att bli sugen på Zebra naglar när månadens tema i The Nail Challenge Collaborative är djur, så här kommer månadens andra inlägg (av fyra) från mig.

Basen är Ellagee The Crazy Gypsy In My Soul och ränderna är sen målade med hjälp av en stripingpensel och Zoya Raven. Ja, och så topplack på också.

För att vara första gången så är jag nöjd. Lite kul med en rosa holo zebra dessutom tycker jag. Jag kommer absolut att göra mer zebror och ni kommer också att få se mer manikyrer inspirerade från den boken.

A couple of days ago I got The Lacquerologist Nail Art book and immediately became eager to try doing Zebra Nails without using stamping as I usually do. But first I also must say that I really can recommend the book. Very good and easy to follow to be able to do a little more Freehand Nail Art.

In any case, it was perfect for me to feel like doing Zebra nails when the month's theme of The Nail Challenge Collaborative is animals so here comes this months second posts (of four) from me.

The base is Ellagee The Crazy Gypsy In My Soul and the stripes are then painted with a stripingbrush and Zoya Raven. And topcoat on too.

For being the first time freehanding this I'm satisfied. A little fun with a pink holo zebra addition, I think. I will definitely do more zebras and you will also get to see more manicures inspired by the book.

ABC Challenge - A = Artdeco 144 Pearly Crystal Lilac

Idag är första dagen på en ny utmaning som kallas för ABC Challenge. Syftet med denna är att använda sina otestade lack i bokstavordning. Vad finns det för mening med det här då? Jo, för av någon anledning så finns det alltid lack som blir stående lite längre i lådan än vad som egentligen är ok. På det här sättet så tvingas man att kanske ta just det där lacket man låtit stå därför att det är det enda man har som har lacknamn eller märkesnamn som börjar på den bokstaven man är på i utmaningen. 

Vi börjar förstås på bokstaven A och det här lacket är faktiskt just ett sånt som blivit stående ganska länge. Jag vet att min käre make hade med sig det här hem från en resa till Holland och det borde vara i alla fall tre år sedan. Lacket är det första som jag provar från Artdeco och nu efter att fått hjälp så har jag hittat namnet på detta. Det heter Pearly Crystal Lilac. 

Mina bilder är inte helt rättvisa, men ni vet ju hur det är att försöka fota lila lack, dom blir liksom blåa. Så i verkligheten är det här bra mycket mer lila än vad som syns här. Det var smidigt att lacka med och täckte på två lager. Ett lager topplack har jag också. 

Färgen är mörkt lila, med skimmer i. Tyvärr så syns inte skimret så väldigt väl om man inte sitter med naglarna under en lampa, men det är ändå en väldigt fin färg och jag har absolut inget emot att prova mer lack från Artdeco.

Today is the first day on a new challenge called the ABC Challenge. The purpose of this is to use your untested polishes in alphabetical order. What's the point of that you might think? Well, for some reason, there are always some polishes that remains standing a little longer in the drawer than really is ok. In this way you are forced to use your polishes in alpabethic order and maybe that polish that has been standing there a long time is the only one you have in a certain letter and then you just have to use that one.

We start of course with the letter A and this polish is actually just one of those who have been ignored by me for quite some time. I know that my dear husband bought this for me on a trip to Holland and I think that must be two or three years ago. The polish is the first I try from Artdeco and after a tips I have found the name of it. It's called Pearly Crystal Lilac.

My pictures are not entirely fair, but you know how it is to try to shoot purple polishes, they become way to blue. So in reality this is far more purple than can be seen here. It was easy to paint with and covered in two layers. I also have a layer of topcoat on.

The color is dark purple with shimmer. Unfortunately the shimmer aint that visible if you don't sit with your fingernails under a lamp, but it's still a very nice color and I have absolutely nothing against to try more polishes from Artdeco.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Animals - Howling Wolf

Idag är mitt första inlägg i The Nail Challenge Collaborative och månadens tema är Animals eller Djur.

Jag fick för ett tag sen hem en Born Pretty Store stämpelplatta för att recensera och den här manikyren var något som dök upp i mitt huvud redan då, men jag har inte kommit mig för att göra den förrän nu.

Basen är L.A Girl Color Addict Idol som jag sen målade med hjälp av dottingtools en stor gul fullmåne på. Sen stämplade jag på vargen från BPS platta nr 16 med hjälp av Zoya Raven. Jag tycker att motivet följde med helt ok, men kanske att man förlorade lite av de finare detaljerna. Däremot var det stört omöjligt att använda mitt svarta Mundo De Unas lack till det här. Helt omöjligt att få upp motivet på stämpeln med det.

Allt som allt är jag ganska nöjd med den här manikyren, kanske skulle haft en något ljusare bakgrund, men det får jag testa nästa gång istället.

Today is my first post in The Nail Challenge Collaborative and the month's theme is Animals.

I while ago I got a Born Pretty Store stamping plate to review and this manicure was something that popped into my head first time I saw that plate but I have not got around to do it until now.

The base is LA Girl Color Addict Idol, which I then using a dottingtool painted a big yellow full moon on. I then stamped on the wolf from the BPS plate no 16 with Zoya Raven. I think that the motive came out quite ok, but perhaps lost some of the finer details. One thing is that my Mundo De Unas black color was impossible to use. It didn't work at all. I could't get the motive on to the stamper with that.

All in all I am quite happy with this manicure, might have had a slightly lighter background, but I will try that the next time instead.

Läsarnas Val / Reader's Choice - L.A Girl Color Addict Idol

Nu har vi fått vinter här i Småland och jag tror att jag och kameran ska ta en promenad senare idag, men först lite städning.

Idag visar jag L.A Girl Color Addict Idol för det var ju det lacket som vann förra veckans omröstning. Ett jeansblått lack med ett mycket fint guldskimmer i. Utan skimret hade det här lacket varit ett ganska mediokert lack, men nu är det inte alls det.

Det täcker fint på två lager och som med de flesta L.A Girl lacken så var det smidigt att lacka med och torkar utmärkt.

Det här är ännu ett lack som jag trivs väldigt bra i. Jag är i och för sig inne i en period när jag är sugen på lite mörkare lack, men det här sitter fint när som helst. Och varje gång jag målar med just L.A Girl så blir jag sugen på att köpa mer från märket för det är verkligen bra lack.

Hoppas ni vill hjälpa mig att rösta fram ett lack till nästa vecka också.

Och så lite kul fakta från Januari månad också. En månad då jag visat swatcher av lack från 17 märken, Inget märke har visats för sig själv mer än en gång vilket jag tycker är lite kul faktiskt. Sammanlagt har jag dock publicerat 31 inlägg, så denna månaden har det varit mycket nailart på bloggen vilket jag är glad över och hoppas kunna fortsätta med.

 

The Winter has finally arrived here in Småland and I think I will take the camera out for a walk later today but first a little house cleaning.

Today I show you LA Girl Color Addict Idol that was the polish that won last week's vote. A denim blue polish with a very fine gold shimmer. Without the shimmer this polish would have been a rather mediocre one, but now it's not mediocre at all.

It covers nicely in two layers and as with most LA Girl polishes it was easy to paint with and dries excellent.

This is yet another polish that I feel very comfortable wearing. Actually I'm in a period of wanting to wear a little darker colors, but this is fine anytime. And every time I paint with LA Girl, I get tempted to buy more from the brand because they have really good polishes.

Ellagee - The Crazy Gypsy In My Soul

Det är fredag och jag ser fram emot att jobbet ska ta slut och att jag får slänga mig i soffan och bara slappa.

Idag visar jag ett lack från Ellagee som har det något långa namnet The Crazy Gypsy In My Heart. Jag trodde att det här var ett mörkt magenta färgat holo och det är det ju på sätt och vis också, men det är så pass mörkt att det lutar över rejält mot lila faktiskt. Och det är riktigt fint. Ännu ett sånt där holo där det funkar lika bra i alla ljus och dom typerna älskar jag. För det finns inget tråkigare än holografiska lack som bara blir dassiga när man inte har direkt ljus på dom.

Penseln i den här flaskan var lite spretig, vilket alltid är lite jobbigt. Formulan är tjock, typ A-England vilket jag inte har några som helst problem med. Jag tror att man kanske skulle kunna få det här att täcka på ett enda lager, men jag har två för säkerhets skull. Ett lager med topplack på också.

Jag har som ni säkert redan misstänkt börjat gilla den här typen av färg på lack mer och mer och det här är absolut inget undantag. Nä, det är snyggt så enkelt är det.

It's Friday and I'm looking forward to going home from work and just throw myself on the couch and just lounging.

Today I show a polish from Ellagee that it has the rather long name The Crazy Gypsy In My Heart. I thought this was a dark magenta holo and I guess you could say that it is but it is so dark that it actually leans towards purple. And it's really nice. Yet one of those holos that is equally nice in all lights and also the type of holographic polishes I like the best. For there is nothing more boring than holographic polish that just gets boring when you don't have direct light on them.

The Brush in this bottle was a bit straggly, which is always a little dicey. The formula is thick, Much like A-England which I don't have any problem with. I think you might be able to get this to cover in a single layer, but I have two just in case. A layer of top coat on too.

I have as you probably already suspected started to like this kind of color of polish more and more and this is no exception. Nah, it's really neat.

Green on Green!

Japp, vi kör en favorit i repris.. Eller nästan i alla fall. Lite mer ton i ton stämpling är väl inte fel. Igår vad det Orly Enchanted Forest som visades och idag har jag prytt detta med stämpling.

Mönstret kommer från MoYou London Back To The 80s 02 och jag har stämplat det med hjälp av Mentality Green Opaque. Ett lager topplack också.

Finns inte så mycket att säga egentligen om manikyren, mer än att jag är löjligt nöjd med den.

Yes, I have another tone on tone manicure for you today. Yesterday I showed you Orly Enchanted Forest and today i have decorated that with som stamping.

The pattern comes from MoYou London Back To The 80s 02 and the color I have used is Mentality Green Opaque. I have a layer of topcoat on as well.

There is really not that much to say about this manicure, more than I really love how this turned out.

Grön Onsdag - Orly Enchanted Forest

Längesedan jag lyckades vara med på Karins gröna onsdag, men den här veckan gick det liksom ihop sig. Det roliga är att jag har visat det här lacket en gång tidigare för ungefär två år sedan och då också i samband med grön onsdag.

I alla fall så är det Orly Enchanted Forest som pryder naglarna. Ett härligt skogsgrönt krämlack. Orly har ju helt underbara korkar att hålla i när man målar, så det är verkligen synd att dom inte längre har någon agentur i Sverige. Det här lacket flöt på smidigt och täckte på två lager. Jag har ett lager med Digital Flash över också.

Jag tycker den här färgen är så skön på något sätt. Lugn och trevlig eller är det för att jag nästan bor mitt i skogen som jag gillar den.

 

It's been a while since I participated in Karin's Green Wednesday, but here I am again. The funny thing is that I have shown this polish once before about two years ago and that time it was also in the context of Green Wednesday.

In any case, what I have to show you is Orly Enchanted Forest. A beautiful forest green creme polish. Orly has in my opinion the best corks of all the polishbrands. Love how they feel when you paint so it's really a shame that they no longer have any agency in Sweden. This polish flowed smoothly and covered in two layers. I have a stock of Digital Flash over too.

I think this color is so beautiful for some reason. Calm and pleasant or is it because I almost live in the middle of the forest that I like it.
