Parrot Polish - 25th In the Carolinas

Äntligen är tentan i hälso- och sjukvårdsrätt gjord. Jag hoppas verkligen att den gick bra och att jag blir godkänd så jag kan lägga denna kursen också bakom mig. Nu är det "bara" 2 tentor kvar innan vi slutar. Fast det ska ju skrivas lite uppsats däremellan också. Firade tentan med att fika med bästa grannen.

Jag är normalt sett inte så imponerad av thermolack därför tänkte jag faktiskt när jag plockade fram Parrot Polish 25th In the Carolinas att ja, ja jag använder väl det nu så är det gjort. Det här är ett skimmerlack som då ska ändra sig från en blurple när man är kall till ljust lila när man är varm plus en annan blålila där emellan. Formulan kändes som en jelly och jag var inte riktigt nöjd förrän efter tredje lagret. Inte för att det blev direkt ojämt, utan för täckningen.

Först hände absolut ingenting och jag kände att jaha, vad var det jag trodde. Sen gick jag och höll händerna under varmt vatten och det var precis som att det aktiverade hela lacket. Plötsligt hände det grejer och effekten håller i sig riktigt bra. Det väldigt klara skiftningar och man ser direkt när händerna blivit lite varma igen. Jag gillar det här, riktigt mycket. Det är ändå lite häftigt att ha en livs levande gradient på naglarna.

Finally, the exam in healthcare law is done. I really hope it went well and that I get approved so I can put this course behind me as well. Now there are "only" 2 exams left before we are done. Although it should be written a little essay in between as well. Celebrated the exam with coffee with the best neighbour.

I am normally not that impressed with thermo polishes so I actually thought when I picked up Parrot Polish 25th In the Carolinas that yes, lets use this now so that I've tried it. This is a shimmer that should then change from a blurple when you are cold to light purple when you are warm plus another bluish/purple in between. The formula felt like a jelly and I wasn't really satisfied until after the third layer. Not because it became directly uneven, but for the coverage.

At first, absolutely nothing happened and I felt like, well, it's happening again. Then I went and held my hands under warm water and it was just like it activated the entire polish. Suddenly, things happened and the effect lasts really well. It is very clear shifts and you can see immediately when the hands get a little warm again. I like this, really much. Can't help but feeling that it's a bit cool to have a live gradient on the nails.

Reader's Choice - Parrot Polish Lotus

Har spenderat förmiddagen med min engelska bok och nu inväntar jag att det ska bli dags att skjutsa maken och mina två bröder till ölprovning, rätt nöjd med arrangemanget då jag i alla fall får god mat på köpet.

Det är några veckor sedan jag sist postade läsarnas val och sist valde ni ett lack åt mig som jag så här i efterhand insett nog inte skulle varit med. Lotus är egentligen ett thermolack, men under tiden det stått i min låda har det förlorat sin originalfärg totalt. Det här ska växla mellan ljusblått och lila. Min flaska är grön, jag lyckades få det att ändra sig till blått, men det går inte att se växlingen ordentligt på nageln utan det är antingen grönt eller blått som gäller. Tro mig, jag har försökt. Nu är ju inte detta något som är okänt vad det gäller just thermolack och också anledningen till att jag inte längre köper den här typen av lack. Det är sällan effekten finns kvar speciellt länge. Det här är dessutom ett jelly, så det stackars lacket har rätt mycket emot sig. Dock var det en bra jellyformula och jag har tre lager på bilderna. 

Alltså det är inget fel alls på den här färgen, den är helt ok, men inte alls vad den borde vara. Dessutom lyckades jag bara fånga den "kalla" färgen på bild. Plus att jag råkade dra i en av naglarna i någonting så manikyren sabbades lite grann. Så förlåt för mindre snygg manikyr och för ett gnälligt inlägg.

Have spent the morning with my English book and now I wait for it to be time to drive my husband and my two brothers to a beer tasting, quite happy with the arrangement since I at least get good food for the job. 

It is a few weeks since I last posted the readers' choice and last time you chose a polish for me which I in retrospect realized I shouldn't have included. Lotus is actually a thermo, but while it was in my box it has lost its original color overall. This should switch between light blue and purple. My bottle is green, I managed to make it change to blue, but it is not possible to see the change properly on the nails without pouring cold water on them, so it is either green or blue that applies. Believe me, I have tried. Now this is not something that is unknown in terms of thermos' and also why I no longer buy this type of polish. It is seldom the effect remains when storing them. This is also a jelly, so the poor polish has a lot against it according to my standards. However, it was a good jelly formula and I have three layers in the pictures.

So there is nothing wrong at all with this color, it is quite ok, but not at all what it should be. In addition, I only managed to capture the "cold" color on photos. Plus I managed to damage one of the nails so this not the most pretty manicure. So forgive for less stylish manicure and for a whimsical post.

Reader's Choice - El Corazón 423/815 Thermo

Idag är både en dag som ska bli väldigt kul och en dag för eftertanke. Ställa ut lite foton på Kulturnatten och sen blir det också trekamp mot makens syskon med bowling, shuffleboard och skyttesimulator. Idag är också Förintelsens minnesdag. En dag jag tycker alla ska uppmärksamma och faktiskt tänka efter lite vad det är som händer i världen nu igen. Jag är själv en av alla dessa som förlorat stora delar av min familj på grund av detta. Jag fick aldrig lära känna min morfar eller mina mostrar som enbart blev 11 och 12 år gamla. En sorg som vi alltid bär med oss.

Här på bloggen blir det dessutom en besvikelse. Eller för min son blir det positivt för det lack han förutspådde skulle vinna gjorde just det. Och det jag sa kom sist...

Lacket ni röstade fram som vinnare är El Corazón 423/815 Thermo. Och det är just det där med Thermo som gör att det är en besvikelse, för här finns inte en tendens till färgskiftning! Jag har blåst med hårtork, hållit fingrarna under iskallt vatten, under varmt vatten, men nej det händer absolut ingenting.

Färgen är en fin skogsgrön som då egentligen ska vara ljusare när man är lite kall om händerna. Ok att lacka med, men det blir lite ojämnt så jag har tre lager och topplack på bilderna.

Ja, jag älskar skogsgröna lack, så jag tycker det här är himla snyggt, men det blev ju verkligen inte som jag tänkt mig.

Eftersom det gick så bra att gissa vinnaren till denna veckan har Viktor återigen plockat fram tre otestade lack. Han är säker på att han vet vilket som vinner och återigen säger jag annorlunda!

Today is both a day that will be very fun and a day of reflection. I will have some photos on a local exhibition and we will also have a fun evening with my husbands siblings going bowling, trying shuffleboard and at last a shooting simulator. Today is also the Internationional Holocaust Remembrance Day. One day i think everyone should pay attention to and actually think about what's happening in the world now again. I am one of those who lost a big part of my family because of this. I never got to know my grandfather or my aunts who only became 11 and 12 years old. A sadness we always carry with us.

Here on the blog, there is also disappointment. Or for my son it will be positive for the polish he predicted would win did win. And the one I said came last ...

The polish you voted as winner is El Corazón 423/815 Thermo. And the thermo is exactly what makes it a disappointment, because there's no tendency for color change! I have blown with a hair dryer, kept my fingers under ice cold water, under hot water, but no, nothing happens.

The color is a nice forest green which should actually be brighter when you are a little cold to your hands. Ok to paint it, but it did look a bit uneven after two layers so I have three layers in the pictures.

Yes, I love forest green polishes, so I think this is very very nice, but it certinaly didn't turn out the way it was supposed to. 

Because it went so well predicting the winner for this week, Viktor once again picked up three untested polishes. He is sure he knows what will win and again I say differently!

Superficially Colorful Lacquer - Giggly

Blev ett sent inlägg idag. Försöker städa huset, men det går sakta när man har värsta förkylningen i kroppen.

Jag har ingen aning om hur länge det här lacket har stått i min låda, men det är ett bra tag är jag rädd. Jag var faktiskt lite orolig att det skulle ha påverkat thermoeffekten i lacket, men se det hade det inte alls.

Lacket är Giggly från Superficially Colorful Lacquer och det är som sagt ett thermolack. Skiftningarna går mellan rosa och lila och det har dessutom ett väldigt vackert skimmer i sig. Jag har målat med två lager och på bilderna har jag topplack också. Det var riktigt trevligt att jobba med och torktiden var bra.

Det är klara och tydliga skiftningar i lacket. När det är varmt är det rosa och kallt lila. Nu har jag inte så värst långa fria tippar, misstänker att det skulle vara ännu tydligare mellan varmt och kallt då. Jag måste säga att jag gillar det här skarpt. Det är kul med thermolack, speciellt nu på höst och vinterkanten när dom verkligen kommer till sin rätt i och med temperaturskillnaderna både ute och inne i kroppen.

Late post today. I'm trying to clean the house, but it goes very slowly because of my cold from hell that has invaded my body.

I have no idea how long this polish has been in standing in my drawer, but it's quite a while, I'm afraid. I was actually a bit worried that it would have affected the thermoeffect in the polish, but luckily I was wrong about that. 

The polish is Giggly from Superficially Colorful Lacquer and it's as I said a thermo polish. The shifts are between pink and purple and it also has a very beautiful shimmer in it. I have painted with two coats and in the pictures I have topcoat on. It was really nice to work with and the drying time was good.

It's clear shifts in this polish. When it is hot, it is pink and when it's cold it's purple. I don't have that very long free tips so I suspect it would be even clearer between hot and cold if you do. I must say that I like this a lot. It's fun with thermo polishes, especially now in the autumn / winter this is when they really come into their best because of the temperature differences both outside and inside the body.

 

Reader's Choice - Superficially Colorful Lacquer - Unbe-leaf-able

Jag har mycket på gång idag. Först frisören och sen 17-års uppvaktning, men självklart blir det också läsarnas val.

Lacket ni valde åt mig är Superficially Colorful Lacquer Unbe-leaf-able ett thermolack som skiftar från att vara mörkt vinrött när naglarna är kalla till en varm rosa ton när man är varm om naglarna. I lacket finns även en del skimmer och glitter. Ett riktigt intressant lack tycker jag.

Tre lager har jag på bilderna och topplack. Torktiden var bra och det är mycket smidigt att jobba med.

Jag gillar ju verkligen att gå omkring med ett lack som ger en gradients hela tiden. Även om den här rosa kanske inte tillhör favorit nyanserna så gillar jag ändå det här lacket en hel del. Och att det är så tydliga skiftningar man behöver inte fundera på om det är ett thermolack eller ej.

I have a lot going on today. First it's time to go to the hairdresser and then we will celebrate my nephew that has turned 17. But I can't let you miss out on this weeks reader's choice. 

The polish you chose for me is Superficially Colorful Lacquer Unbe-leaf-able a thermo polish that shifts from being dark burgundy when the nails are cold to a warm pink tone when they are warm. The polish also has some shimmer and glitter in it. A really interesting polish.

In the pictures I have three layers and topcoat. The drying time was good and it is very easy to work with.

I do really love to walk around with a polish that gives you a gradient all the time. Even though this pink may not belong to my favorite shades I still like this polish a lot. And one of the reasons is that the shifts between warm and cold color is so visable you don't have to wonder if it's a thermo or not.

Superficially Colorful Lacquer - A Summer's Wave Goodbye

Jaha, vi fortsätter på lack som jag inte riktigt gillade. Fast när det gäller Superficially Colorful Lacquer A Summer's Wave Goodbye är det en sanning med modifikation.

För så här ligger det till. Det här lacket kom ut i en höstkollektion förra året och är ett thermolack som skiftar mellan att vara helt gult när det är varmt och sen blir mer orange när det är kallt. Skitsnygg kombo. Men jag tyckte ju att den färgkombon skulle vara jättefin en sommardag. En varm sommardag. Fel av mig, för när naglarna är helt varma även ute i topparna så är det helgult och en ganska tråkig gul färg. Så var det ju hela tiden när jag bar det istället för att vara gult med en underbar solnedgångs gradient som jag tänkt mig.

Så, nej jag tyckte inte alls om det när jag bar det, men hade förmodligen tyckt helt annorlunda om jag hade använt det en vacker höstdag istället.

Det är ganska skirt. Jag hade tre lager på, men ett fjärde hade inte skadat. Effekten är jättetydlig när man inte är supervarm och det var bra att måla med. På bilderna är det topplack på också.

Well, let's continue with polishes that I don't really liked. Though when it comes Superficially Colorful Lacquer A Summer's Wave Goodbye it is a truth with modifications.

Because this is how it is. This polish came out in a fall collection last year and is a thermo that shifts between being completely yellow when it is warm and then becomes more orange when it is cold. A really Stylish combo. But I thought the that the color combo would be really nice on a summer day. On a hot summer day. That was wrong, because when the nails are quite warm even out on the peaks it is completly yellow and a rather dull yellow color. And since I wore this a really warm day that is how it stayed all the time. So instead of being yellow with a lovely sunset gradient as I imagined it I had a boring yellow manicure.

So, no I did not like it when I wore it, but had probably thought quite differently if I had used it a beautiful autumn day instead.

It is quite sheer. I had three layers, but a fourth could have been good. The effect is very clear when you are not super hot and it was good to paint with. In the pictures I have topcoat on as well.

Läsarnas Val / Reader's Choice - Liquid Sky Lacquer Margaritaville

Jag har testat ett lack innan som var thermolack, men det var ganska svårt att få att ändra färg, så är inte fallet med lacket som ni valde åt mig till denna veckan.

Liquid Sky Lacquer Margaritaville är ett grönt thermolack som dessutom är lite holo i. Det skiftar från ljusgrönt när det är varmt och mörkare grönt när nageln är kallare.

Faktum är att jag blev löjligt förtjust i det här lacket just på grund av skiftningarna. För det är ju så att mest ser det här ut som man har gjort en snygg gradient hela tiden. Och vem gillar inte det!

Det var dessutom smidigt att lacka med. Jag har två lager på och visst ett tredje kanske inte hade skadat, men är inte absolut nödvändigt. Torkade fort gjorde det också.

På bilderna har jag inget topplack, för jag visste inte riktigt om det skulle påverka effekten av lacket. Jag har lagt på Insta-Dri efteråt och kan glatt konstatera att det spelar ingen roll. Effekten kvarstår.

Alltså kan jag bara säga så här. Vill man testa thermo så verkar Liquid Sky Lacquer vara ett väldigt bra märke för detta. Jag är supernöjd och gillar dessutom färgerna väldigt mycket.

Återigen har sonen fått rota bland mina otestade lack så rösta på ni så får vi se vad som visas nästa vecka.

 

I have tested a thermal polish before, but it was quite difficult to get to change the color, that is not the case with the polish that you chose for me this week. 

Liquid Sky Lacquer Margaritaville is a green thermo polish that is also a little holo. It varies from light green when it's hot and dark green when the nail is colder. 

In fact, I was ridiculously fond of this polish just because of the shifts. For the fact is that mostly this looks like a nice gradient. And who does not like that! 

Furthermore, it was easy to paint with. I have two coats on and yes, maybe a third would have been a good idea, but not absolutely necessary. It also dried quickly. 

In the pictures, I have no topcoat, because I did not really know if it would affect the efficacy of the polish. I have put on the Insta-Dri afterwards and can happily say that it does not matter. The effect persists. 

So I can only say this. If you want to test a thermo Liquid Sky Lacquer seem to be a very good brand for it. I am super happy with the polish and really like the colors as well.

Again, the son got to poke around my untested to choose the polishe you get to vote on this week.
