Untried A-Z Challenge: T = Turtle Tootsie Polishes Oh, Christmas Tree

Jag har tenta imorgon så egentligen borde jag sitta och plugga nu, men igår kväll behövde jag en paus och kände att en lugn stund med lite nagelfix var precis vad jag behövde och helt ärligt så måste det jag läst smälta in lite. Igår kväll var det dessutom säsongspremiär för Vår tid är nu på tv, helt ok första avsnitt, men vi får väl se om säsong två kan bli lika bra som första.

Det är återigen dags för Untried A-Z Challenge och jag har plockat fram ett lack till bokstaven T. Det blev Turtle Tootsie Polishes Oh, Christmas Tree i Facebook utmaningen som jag också är med på så är vi på bokstaven O så det här blev ju kanon. Lacket är mörkt olivgrönt eller vi kanske ska kalla det för julgransgrönt med en mycket vacker holoeffekt. Två lager räckte och jag har som vanligt topplack över.

Jag är helt betagen i det här lacket! Fullkomligt älskar både färgen, holot och kombinationen såklart. Det nästan skriker Helena om det faktiskt.

I've got another exam tomorrow so I really should sit and do my homework right now, but last night I needed a break and felt that a quiet moment with a little nail fixing was just what I needed and quite honestly I felt that my head needed to sort out all the information that I pumped into it last couple of days. Last night it was also season premiere for a swedish show called Vår tid är nu a family saga that follows a family that owns a restaurant in Stockholm from just before world war 2 and towards modern time. First episode of the season was okay, but we'll see if season two may be as good as the first.

It's time again for Untried A-Z Challenge and I've picked up a polish for the letter T. It became Turtle Tootsie Polishes Oh, Christmas Tree and as so happens we are at the letter O in the Facebook ABC challenge that I also participate in, so this polish was the perfect match. It's a dark olive green or maybe we should call it Christmas green with a very beautiful holo effect. Two layers were enough and as usually I have topcoat over.

I'm totally taken by this polish! So in love with both the color, the holo and the combination of course. It almost screams Helena about it.

Untried A-Z Challenge: Q = China Glaze Queen of Sequins

Idag kom köksutrustningen och det har redan börjats monteras plus att vi fått nya fönster insatta. Så kul att se allting komma på plats. Mindre kul att lämna sonen vid tåget, känns alltid jobbigt. Jag ser fram emot morgondagen så himla mycket, men nervositeten är stor och magen gör ont.

Q är bokstaven vi är framme på i Untried A-Z Challenge och C i ABC Challenge på Facebook och som av en händelse så lyckades jag kombinera dessa två utmaningar med China Glaze Queen of Sequins ett lack med en mörkt mörkt lila bas och microglitter också i lila. Det hade kanske kunnat räcka med två lager, men det var lite ojämnheter så jag la på ett tredje. Jag tyckte i alla fall att det spred ut sig fint på nageln.

Det här kanske är aningen för mörkt för att vara ett riktigt topplack. Alltså jag älskar mörka lack, men glittren drunknar lite i basen, men tolka mig rätt nu, jag tycker det är ett riktigt vackert lack. Fast det kunde varit ännu vackrare.

Today all the kitchen cabinets came and our carpenters has already started to installed them plus that we have had new windows installed. So fun to see everything get in place. Less fun to leave the eldest son by the train, it always feels a bit sad. I'm looking forward to tomorrow so much, but the nervousness is big and my stomach hurts.

Q is the letter we're on Untried A-Z Challenge and C in ABC Challenge on Facebook and I managed to combine these two challenges with todays polish China Glaze Queen of Sequins a polish with a dark dark purple jelly base and microglitter also in different purple shades. It might have been enough with two layers, but it was a bit uneven so I put on a third. In any case, I thought it was spreading out nicely on the nails.

This may be a bit too dark to be a real favorite. So I love dark polishes, but the glitter does drown a bit in the base, but interpret me right now, I think it's a really beautiful polish. Though it could have been even more beautiful.

ABC Challenge - Z = Zoya Aphrodite

Jaha, då var det faktiskt sista dagen i vårt ABC Challenge för den här gången. För eller senare kommer det säkert att återkomma tror jag.

För min del har mina otestade lack minskat rätt bra faktiskt. Det kan ju också ha att göra med att jag inte köpt så där värst många nya under den här tiden heller, men det känns bra att snart vara nere under 100 i alla fall.

Sista dagen innebär bokstaven Z och det var inga problem att hitta lack till. Jag har nämligen ett gäng otestade lack ifrån Zoya i min samling. Det jag valde att plocka fram idag är Aphrodite.

Hur ska man beskriva det här lacket då? Orange med rätt mycket röd underton och rosarött skimmer i tror jag blir rätt bra faktiskt.

Det var något skirare än vad jag trott så tre lager var nödvändigt och på bilderna syns ändå lite VNL vilket inte är så framträdande i verkligheten. Både hanteringen och torktiden var dock riktigt bra så tre lager är inget problem. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Jag gillar färgen på det här. Det ser väldigt somrigt och färgglatt ut, men jag blev inte helt överväldigad av den. Snygg, ja men det liksom stannar med det.

The day have come to say farewell to our ABC Challenge for this time. Sooner or later it will surely come back I'm sure.

For my part, my untested pile has gone down quite well actually. It could also have something to do with that I have not bought that many new polishes during this period, but it feels good to soon be down below 100 in any case.

Last day means the letter Z and there was no problem finding a polish for that. Because I have a bunch of untested from Zoya in my collection. What I chose to pick up today is Aphrodite.

How should one describe this polish then? Orange with quite a lot of red undertone with redishpink shimmer sounds pretty good actually.

This was a bit sheerer than what I expected and three layers was necessary in the pictures it looks like I Still has a bit VNL which is not as prominent in reality. Both the formula and the drying time was really good so three layers is no problem. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

I like the color of this. It looks very summery and for me it's a happy color, but I was not overwhelmed by it. Stylish, yes, but there is where my feelings ends.

ABC Challenge - Glam Polish Yeah 3X

Dags för bokstaven Y och jag hittade lack med namn till det också.

Det blev Glam Polish Yeah 3X som får representera bokstaven. Och det här är första gången jag är besviken på ett Glam lack. Det var absolut inget problem att måla med det och det täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Färgen som är guldgrön är rätt fin, lite blek kanske. Glittret är helt ljuvligt så det är det heller inget fel på, men det var supersegt att få att torka. Jag har inte tjocka lager och jag har snabbtorkande överlack ändå var det riktigt segt att få helt torrt och stötte man emot nageln det minsta tio minuter efter HK Girl Topcoat så blev det skador i lacket.

Mycket tråkigt. Har faktiskt inte hört talas om något Glam som gjort så här tidigare.

Time for the letter Y and I found a polish with a name starting on that too. 

It became Glam Polish Yeah 3X that will represent the letter. And this is the first time I am disappointed in a Glam Polish. There was absolutely no problem to paint with it and it covers in two layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

The color is golden green, pretty nice I think, maybe a little pale. The glitter is absolutely adorable so there is nothing wrong with that, but it was super tough to get to dry. I don't have thick layers and I have fast drying top coat yet it was really tough to get completely dry and if I happened to bump into something with the nail even after ten minutes with HK Girl Topcoat on it did get marks and damaged the polish.

Very boring. I don't think I have ever heard this about a Glam Polish before.

ABC Challenge - X = Depend 421

Jag har faktiskt ett lack som börjar på X som är dagens bokstav, men det är ett väldigt, väldigt skirt lack och på mina missfärgade naglar såg det faktiskt inte klokt ut, så istället tog jag ett lack med enbart en siffra istället för namn.

Det fick bli Depend 421 som funnits i mina ägor bra länge. Dock kollade jag upp lacket och det verkar till höra Depends Basic lack som alltså finns att köpa nu också.

Det här är ett ganska knalligt rosa lack med lila skimmer i. Det täcker på två lager, torkar fort och på fotona har jag topplack på också.

Jag tycker det här är rätt fint faktiskt. Ett lack som jag tycker passar bra så här på vårkanten och till sommaren. Kanske inte någon favorit, men ändå helt ok.

 

I actually have a polish that begins on X which is today's letter, but it is a very, very sheer polish and on my discolored nails it actually looked really ugly, so instead I took a polish with a number instead of a name.

It is Depend 421 that has been in my drawer a long time. However, I looked up the polish and it seems to be one of Depends Basic polishes so it's still available in stores. 

This is a fairly bright pink polish with purple shimmer. It covers in two coats, dries fast and on the photos I have topcoat on too.

I think this is pretty nice. A polish which I think works great now in the springtime and when you have got some tan in the summer. Maybe not a favorite, but still ok.

ABC Challenge - V & W = Cupcake Polish Victoria

Det är inte så värst många bokstäver kvar nu i vårt ABC Challenge, känns både bra och dåligt. Det har varit bra att ha en liten piska att använda sin otestade hög, men samtidigt har jag känt nu framåt slutet att det varit lite många dagar som varit upplåsta i veckan i och med att jag har både läsarnas val och the nail challenge collaborative också. Men min otestad hög har absolut sjunkit och jag har varit rätt återhållsam med inköp av lack så jag är nöjd.

Nu till dagens bokstav och lack. Jag valde att ha både V och W på samma dag. Lacket jag plockade fram heter Victoria och kommer från Cupcake Polish.

Vissa Indiemärken vet man redan när man plockar fram flaskan att det kommer vara smidigt att jobba med. Cupcake Polish är ett sånt märke enligt mig. Två lättmålade lager som torkade fort är vad som behövdes. På bilderna har jag topplack också.

Vad ska jag säga om den här färgen då? Jo, det är ett mörkt lila lack med en utomordentlig holo i. Faktum är att jag tyckte det krävdes topplack på för att verkligen få fram hur fint det här var. Utan blev det lite matt och inte alls så sprakande som det verkligen är.

För mig var det inte speciellt oväntat att jag skulle gilla det här lacket. Det är lila, holo och underbart!

There are not many letters left now in our ABC Challenge, feels both good and bad. It has been great to clear out some from my untested pile, but at the same time, I have felt a bit the last weeks that I have had a bit too many days locked up in the week with this, reader's choice and the nail Challenge collaborative too. But my untested pile have absolutely shrunken and I have been quite moderate with the purchase of new polishes so I'm happy.

Now to today's letter and polish. I chose to have both V and W on the same day. The polish I picked up is named Victoria and comes Cupcake Polish.

There are some Indie Brands that you know already when picking up the bottle that it will be easy to work with. Cupcake Polish is according to me one of those brands. Two easy-painted layers which dried fast is what was needed. In the pictures I have topcoat on to.

What should I say about this color then? Well, it's a dark purple polish with an excellent holo in. In fact, I thought it was necessary to have topcoat on in order to really show the real beauty of this polish. Without it was a bit dull and not nearly as dazzling as it really is.

For me it was not particularly unexpected that I would like this polish. It's purple, holo and wonderful!

ABC Challenge - U = Loreal Under My Spell

Dagarna och veckorna går alldeles galet fort och vi är framme på bokstaven U i vår utmaning. Jag har valt att visa ett glitter lack som heter Under My Spell och kommer från L'oreal.

När jag visade L'oreal Perle De Jade till bokstaven L kom jag på att dom här två lacken nog skulle funka rätt bra ihop och det hade jag rätt i.

Under My Spell består av en klar bas med glitter i turkost, guld, silver och lite prismatiskt. Det är lite varierande storlekar och former på glittren. Det spridde ut sig smidigt på nageln och man behövde inte fiska i flaskan efter de större glittren. Jag har lagt ett lager över Perle De Jade. Torktiden var bra och på bilderna ser ni det med topplack på.

Det framkommer inte riktigt bra på mina bilder hur himla glittrigt och fint det här är. Det verkar som att det finns någon typ av microglitter i basen som nästan ger en känsla av pärlemor på nageln.

Jag tyckte det här var väldigt fint och jag gillar verkligen kombinationen av basfärgen med det här glittret.

The Days and weeks goes so fast and we have already reached the letter U in our challenge. I have chosen to show a sparkly polish called Under My Spell and it comes from L'Oreal.

When I showed L'Oreal Perle de Jade on the letter L, I came to think of that these two polishes probably would work quite well together and I was right.

Under My Spell consists of a clear base with glitter in turquoise, gold, silver and some prismatic. It has different sizes and shapes of the glitters. It spread out smoothly on the nail and you didn' need to fish around in the bottle to catch the larger glitters. I have added one layer of this over Perle De Jade. The drying time was good and in the pictures you see it with topcoat on.

It doesn't appear nearly as nice on my pictures as in reality. This is very sparkly and nice. It seems that there is some type of micro glitter in the base as well that almost brings a sense of mother of pearl on the nail.

I thought this was very nice and I really like the combination of the base color with this glitter.

ABC Challenge - T = Turtle Tootsie Polishes - Smashed Pumpkins

Jösses vilket lack jag letade fram till bokstaven T! Jag vet inte riktigt vilken färg Turtle Tootsie Polishes Smashed Pumpkins har. Är det bronze eller koppar eller orange? Nä, jag vet inte och det spelar absolut noll roll för bara titta hur det ser ut.

Det var smidigt att lacka med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Det är helt klart udda färg som jag var lite tveksam till hur jag skulle gilla på naglarna, men jag hade inte behövt oroa mig för jag fullkomligt älskar det här lacket. Tyvärr har jag bara en miniflaska, får kanske ändra på det för det här blev en fullträff tycker jag.

What an amazing polish I picked for the letter T! I don't really know what color Turtle Tootsie Polishes Smashed Pumpkins have. Is it bronze or copper or orange? Nah, I don't know and it does absolutely zero matter because just look how it looks.

It was easy to paint with and covers in two layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

It's clearly an odd color I was a little hesitant about how I would like it on the nails, but I shouldn't have worried because I absolutely love this polish. Unfortunately I only have a mini bottle so maybe I should do something about that.  Because this was turned out to be a bullseye polish.

ABC Challenge - S = Sephora Deep In Her Eyes

Välkommen till en ny vecka med nya fina lack att titta på. Vi börjar med bokstaven S i vårt ABC Challenge och till detta har jag valt att visa er ett lack från Sephora som heter Deep In Her Eyes.

Det här är ett blå/lila metallic lack, som man fick vara rätt noga med hur man målade med för att undvika alltför tråkiga synliga penseldrag. Dock täcker det bra och två lager är nog. Torktiden normal, men inte snabb. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Alltså det är absolut inget fel varken på färgen eller finishen på det här lacket, men återigen är det ett snyggt lack som inte riktigt går hem hos mig. Det är ett helt ok lack, men inget som jag troligen kommer sträcka mig efter igen.

Welcome to a new week with hopefully nice polishes to watch. We begin with the letter S in our ABC Challenge and for this I have chosen to show you a polish from Sephora called Deep In Her Eyes.

This is a blue / purple metallic polish, which you had to be quite careful with when you painted in order to avoid boring visible brushstrokes. However, it covers well and two coats are enough. The drying time is normal, but not fast. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

There's absolutely nothing wrong neither with color or finish of this polish, but again it's a nice polish that not quite hit the mark with me. It's a quite ok polish, but nothing that I probably will reach for again.

ABC Challenge - R = Smitten Polish Radiant Orchid

Idag är jag lite elak mot er läsare för lacket som jag visar till bokstaven R går inte att få tag på längre och märket Smitten Polish har bytt namn till Dreamland Lacquer. Lacket heter i alla fall Radiant Orchid.

För det första så är Orkidéer mina favoritblommor och för det andra så älskar jag lila nagellack. Jamen, då kan det ju inte bli så mycket bättre än så här eller?

Nä, faktiskt inte för lacket är en dröm att måla med. Jag har tre lager på bilderna för jag tyckte färgen djupnade något på det tredje, men för täcknings skull räcker två. Torktiden var jättebra. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Och färgen och holot, ni ser ju hur det ser ut! Behöver jag säga mer än att jag älskar det här lacket? Tror inte det va? Jo, jag kanske ska förklara vad det är för färg på det också. Det här är ett lila lack med mycket dragning åt magenta, men fortfarande lila. Och en riktigt starkt holoeffekt har det också.

För att visa detta tänker jag faktiskt visa en liten filmsnutt också som jag tog när jag var ute och gick i skogen.

Today I am a bit mean to you readers because the polish that I show for the letter R is no longer available and the brand is no longer Smitten Polish but Dreamland Lacquer instead. The polish is called Radiant Orchid.

First of all I have to tell you that my favorite flowers are Orchids and secondly, I love purple nail polish. Well could then be much better than this?

Nah, not really for the polish is a dream to paint with. I have three layers in the pictures I thought the color deepened slightly on the third, but for coverage it's enough with two. The drying time was great. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

This color and that holot, just look at how it looks! Need I say more than that I love this polish? Don't think so huh? Well, perhaps I should explain what kind of color it is too. This is a purple polish with very much hint of magenta, but still purple. And a really strong holo too.

ABC Challenge - Q = A-England Queen Of Scotts

Jag vet inte riktigt hur jag tänkte när jag först valde lack till alla bokstäverna i vårt ABC Challenge och av någon anledning valde ett lack med enbart en siffra till bokstaven Q när jag faktiskt hade tre olika lack med namn som började på just Q.

Gör om gör rätt. Det hela slutade med att jag nu sitter med Queen Of Scotts från A-England på naglarna och således valde att använda detta lack för dagens utmaning.

Jag är svag för A-England lack och Queen Of Scotts är väldigt lätt att tycka om. Ett riktigt mörkt blått lack med ett fint skimmer. Det är precis på gränsen att det här täcker på ett lager, man kan nog få det att göra det, men jag valde ändå att lägga på ett andra. Torktiden är bra och överlag så är det väldigt smidigt att jobba med. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Återigen ett lack som det säkert går att hitta liknande, men med samma fina egenskaper att måla med som A-England kan jag inte lova er. Färgen är helt underbar och jag tycker så mycket om det här lacket.

 

I don't really know how I thought when I first chose polishes to all the letters of our ABC Challenge and for some reason chose a polish with a number to the letter Q when I actually had three different polishes with names that began with Q.

So I had to rethink a bit. It all ended with me now sitting with Queen of Scotts from A-England on the nails and that is my choice for today's challenge.

I'm a sucker for A-England polishes and Queen of Scott's very easy to like. A royal blue polish with a fine shimmer. It's right on the border of being a one coater, you can probably get it to work like that if you take a bit thicker layer, but I chose to put on a second. The drying time is good and overall it's very easy to work with. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

Again, a polish that is certainly possible to find similar once, but with the same fine qualities to paint with as A-England I'm not sure you will find. The color is absolutely wonderful and I like this polish very much.
