Dollish Polish - Go Luigi!

Dom här bilderna funderade jag skarpt på att inte visa alls. Anledningen till detta är baslacket som jag valde att använda mig av. Dom gånger jag använt mig av Nordic Cap star nails innan har det funkat klockrent. Jag har två flaskor med svart lack och det kan ha varit den andra flaskan jag använt vid dom tillfällena, men den här var då inte klockren.

Det sprack. Alltså betedde sig som om det var någon typ av crackle lack. Så där kul! Men ibland kan det ju faktiskt vara bra att visa manikyrer som inte gick riktigt som man tänkt sig också. Om inte annat för att någon annan stackare som råkat ut för samma ska få veta att du inte var ensam.

I alla fall så var det ju så att anledningen till att jag la på ett svart kräm lack var att jag tyckte det var dags att visa ännu ett lack från Super Mario Bros. kollektionen från Dollish Polish.

Den här gången har turen kommit till Go Luigi! Luigi tycker jag är lite mesig, så han är inte en favorit bland karaktärerna i Super Mario spelen, men lacket är då rakt inte mesigt utan mycket fint.

Basen i lacket är genomskinlig och sen består det av glitter i blått, grönt och silvriga stjärnor. Jag la två lager över det nu inte längre omtyckta svarta Nordic Cap lacket och toppade med både Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food och ett lager Seche.

Jag gillar färgkombinationen väldigt mycket och stjärnorna är en rolig detalj i det här lacket. Det enda som jag tycker är tråkigt är att det precis som med dom andra lacken i kollektionen var lite knepigt att fiska upp glittren ur flaskan.

Jo, jag kommer att måla med det här igen, men med ett annat lack som bas. Vad tror ni skulle vara snyggt att ha för färg under?

I thought of not showing you these pictures at all. The reason for that is that the polish I used as a basecolor. I have used Nordic Cap Star Nails before and it has worked perfect. I have two bottles of black polish from this brand and it might have been the other bottle I have used the other times because this one surely didn't work perfect!

It burst, you know it behaved like one of those crackle polishes. Not very fun! But sometimes it can actually be good to show manicures that did not go quite as planned as well. Why? Well it's always someone else that has the same experience and now that person doesn't have to feeel alone anymore.

In any case, the reason why I put on a black cream polish was that I thought it was time to show another polish from Super Mario Bros. collection from Dollish Polish.

This time the turn goes to Go Luigi! Luigi, I think is a bit lame, so he is not a favorite among the characters in the Super Mario games, but the polish is far from lame instead it's really nice.

The base of the polish is translucent and then it consists of glitter in blue, green and silver stars. I put two coats over it now no longer popular Nordic Cap black lacquer and topped with both Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and a coat of Seche .

I like the color combination very much and the Stars is a fun detail in this polish. The only thing I think is sad is that, as with the other polishes in the collection it was a bit tricky to fish up the glitters from the bottle.

Well, I will paint with this again, but with a different polish as a base. What do you think would be neat to have this over?

Jag upplever att dom är väldigt enkla att använda och lossnar lätt från skyddspappret vilket jag har haft andra dekaler som inte har gjort. Jag har valt att använda Misa Grey Matters som bas till den här manikyren.

Ok, this manicure did not turn out quite as I wanted it to, but I decided to show it anyway because it's still totally ok.  

First and foremost, I want to show you how simple it is to use Waterdecals. I feel that they are very easy to use and easily comes of from the protecting paper I have had other stickers that was really hard to use because they didn't want to come off. I have chosen to use Misa Grey Matters as the base for this manicure.

Det här är vad du behöver för att applicera vattendekaler: En skål med varmt vatten, en pincett, en sax, dekalerna, bas & topplack och ett lack att använda som basfärg till manikyren. 

This is what you need to apply waterdecals: A bowl with warm water, a pincette, a scissor, the decals, base & top coat and a nailpolish with the color you will use as a base for the manicure. 

Börja med att klippa ut de mönstren du vill använda från arket och klipp gärna så nära kanterna du kan.

Start with cutting out the patterns you would like to use from the sheet. Cut as close to the edges of the patterns as you possibly can. 

Lägg sen ner dekalerna i vattnet.

Put the decals in the water. 

När sedan dekalerna lossnar från skyddspappret ser de ut så här.

Och så här blev det efter jag hade placerat dekalerna på naglarna. Jag gillar färgkombinationen, men inser att jag skulle satt mer dekaler så det blivit tätare med svandunen.

Nailart Sunday - Randigt

Äntligen har jag åkt premiärtur i MG:n i och för sig bara till affären, men ändå!

Dagens tema i Nailart Sunday är randigt vilket betyder att det kan bli hur många varianter på manikyrer som helst. Kul tycker jag!

Själv har jag sett en del fjäder manikyrer som jag var it lite sugen på att prova och dom har ju liksom bestått av många ränder och det blir ju randigt.

Basen är China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint och sen har jag använt mig av Zoya Raven och Purity och lite China Glaze Pelican Grey också.

Min käre make tyckte mer det såg ut som en gren eller ett ax, så ni får toka det här fritt. Meningen är att det ska vara en fjäder i alla fall.

I've finally had my premiere ride in our MG. Only to the store but still! 

The theme this Nailart Sunday is striped and for me that means that it will probably be a lot of  variations in the manicures and for me that is the most fun kind of theme. 

I myself have seen some feather manicures that I have been a bit eager to try and they certinaly have been made out of stripes. 

The base is China Glaze Re-Fresh Mint and then I am using Zoya Raven and Purity and a little China Glaze Pelican Grey too. 

My dear husband thought it looked more like a branch or an ax, so you are free to interpreting as you wish. The idea is that it's supposed to be a feather in any case.

Flowers For Katarina!

Den här helgen är speciell och anledningen till det är att Edgy Polish firar 1 års jubileum och det gör dom med dunder och brak. 25-27/4 är det 25% på alla beställningar och handlar du för över 500 kronor så får man med en present också.

Under det här året har jag haft ganska mycket kontakt med Katarina som äger Edgy Polish och kommit att tycka väldigt mycket om henne och hennes underbara butik för den delen så jag tänkte fira henne på mitt egna lilla vis.

Det finns ett lack från Mentality som heter just Katarina ett fantastiskt vackert rödbrunt lack med lite prismatiskt skimmer i sig. Det här lacket vill jag visa idag. Jag bestämde mig dessutom för att göra en accentnagel med hjälp av Rainbow Honey Nyx och ett mönster från MoYou Pro 06 stamping platta. En enkel blomma, men ändå något som gör manikyren extra fin tycker jag.

Som vanligt så är Mentality lacket fantastiskt att måla med. Två lager har jag av det och av Nyx så är det ett lager. Blomman är givetvis gjord med hjälp av Katarina som i och för sig inte är ett stamping lack, men funkar alldeles utmärkt för ändamålet. Över det här har jag också ett lager med Digital Flash som blivit en favorit bland topplacken.

Både Mentality Katarina och Rainbow Honey Nyx finns på lager hos Edgy Polish. Just den MoYou plattan som jag använt gör det inte, men många andra och gillar du stamping och inte testat MoYou tycker jag verkligen du ska göra det. Mycket bra saker.

There is a polish from Mentality called Katarina a stunningly beautiful rusty polish with a little prismatic shimmer in it. This is the polish that I want to show you today. I decided additionally to do an accent nail with the help of Rainbow Honey Nyx and a pattern from MoYou Pro 06 stamping plate. A simple flower, but still something that makes the manicure extra fine I think.

As usual, Mentality polish is amazing to paint with. Two stocks is what I have of it and only one of Nyx. The Flower is obviously made ​​with the help of Katarina that isn't part of Mentalitys stamping polishes but works really well for it anyway. Over this I also have a stock of Digital Flash which has become a favorite topcoat for me.

Both Mentality Katarina and Rainbow Honey Nyx are in stock at Edgy Polish. The MoYou plate that I used is not, but many others and if  you likestamping and haven't tested MoYou I really think you should do it. Very good stuff .

So I say a big CONGRATULATIONS to Edgy Polish and may the coming year be as fun as this has been.

OPI DS Luxurious Vs. China Glaze Riveting

Varför vänta med något som man kan göra nu? I förra inlägget skrev jag att jag skulle göra en jämförelse mellan OPI DS Luxurious och China Glaze Riveting för att se hur pass lika dom här lacken verkligen är.

Sagt och gjort. Det är en otroligt vacker dag idag, som gjord för att fota lack.

Vi börjar väl med en flaskbild på dom här två lacken.

Why wait with something you could do right away? In my last post I wrote that I would do a comparision between OPI DS Luxurious and China Glaze Riveting to see how close those to polishes really are to each other.

Well, this is a beautiful day here in Sweden perfect for swatching actually. 

So let's start with a bottle shot of the two polishes. 

Jo, visst ser dom väldigt lika ut, men jag tycker mig redan här se en viss skillnad i nyansen. 

Well, they do look very much a like but I do sense a bit different in the nuance.

Låt oss då ta en lite närmare titt på det här. Jag har två lager av bägge lacken. Båda två har en väldigt trevlig formula och torkar fort. Inget topplack på den här gången. I solskenet blev det ganska tydligt att det är en viss skillnad på dom. I skuggan däremot är det inte riktigt lika synligt. 

För visst är det så att OPI DS Luxurious har en lite mörkare orange ton. Lite mer åt det brända hållet tycker jag när China Glaze Riveting håller sig till lite mer klarorange. Jag kan nog även tycka att det finns något mer guldskimmer i Luxurious än i Riveting. 

Helt klart är ju att dom absolut inte är dupes. Bägge är väldigt vackra och jag kan nog faktiskt inte säga vilket jag föredrar. Jag tycker mycket om dom bägge två.

So let's take a closer look at these two polishes. I have two layers of them both. Both of them has a great formula and also good drying time. I have no topcoat on. In the sun it becomes pretty clear that there are differences between them. While in the shadow it's not so obvious. 

To me it's clear that OPI DS Luxurious has a bit darker orange tone than China Glaze Riveting. A bit more burnt orange while Riveting is a bright orange. I also think there might be a bit more goldshimmer in Luxurios than in Riveting. 

What's totally clear is that they are no dupes. Both are very very beautiful and I can't say that I have a favorite of them. I like them both very much. 

The Neverending Pile Challenge - Had to have it still haven't worn it - OPI DS Luxurious

Till dagens tema som är Had to have it still haven't worn it hade jag en uppsjö med lack som skulle kunna passat in. Det är liksom typiskt mig att få syn på ett lack på någon annan blogg och känna att det där bara måste jag ha. 

OPI DS Luxurious såg jag hos Anne på Nailtastic och det var kärlek vid första ögonblicket. Jag kan inte riktigt komma ihåg när det var jag köpte det här eller om jag möjligen bytt till mig det, men jag vet att det stått i lådan bra länge. 

Och jag kan ju direkt säga att jag förstår vad det var som gjorde att jag ville ha det och jag ångrar absolut inte att jag köpte det. DS Luxurious är ett fantastiskt orange lack med guldskimmer i. Om man dessutom som jag gillar OPI:s pensel och lacket täcker på två lager med bra torktid är lyckan fullkomlig. Ett av mina favoritlack är China Glaze Riveting och det här är ganska likt det vilket givetvis bidrar till att jag tycker mycket om Luxurious.

Jag ska försöka göra en jämförelse vid något tillfälle för att se hur lika dom faktiskt är. 

I alla fall så är jag mycket nöjd med att ha det här i min samling och borde skärpa mig med att låta dom där lacken som jag helst ville ha stå otestade för länge.

For today's theme that is Had to have it still haven't worn it I had a plethora of polishes to choose from. It's typical me to catch sight of a polish on some other blog and feel that I just have to have it.

OPI DS Luxurious is a polish that I first sighted at Nailtastic and it was love at first sight. I can't really remember when it was that I bought it or if I possibly got in a swap, but I know it's been in the drawer a long time.

And I can say that I understand what it was that made ​​me want to have it and I have no regrets whatsoever that I bought it. DS Luxurious is a fantastic orange polish with gold shimmer in. If you also like me like OPI 's brush and the fact that the polish covers in two layers with good drying time makes you a very happy girl. One of my favorite polishes is China Glaze Riveting and this is quite similar to that which naturally helps that I like Luxurious so much.

I'll try to do a comparison at some point to see how similar they actually are.

In any case, I am very pleased to have this in my collection and should get better on using those polishes I want the most right away instead of hiding them in my untested drawer. 

The Neverending Pile Challenge - Boutique - Deborah Lippman Private Dancer

Boutique var dagens tema. Något som jag kände innebar Dior, Chanel, YSL och liknande märken, men sen visade det sig att det inte behövde vara riktigt så exklusivt och då kom jag genast att tänka på ett lack som jag har haft stående länge.

Nämligen Deborah Lippman Private Dancer ett sånt där lack som jag väldigt gärna ville ha, men inte använt sen. Och tyvärr visade det sig att jag nog skulle använt det på en gång för då tror jag att jag hade älskat lacket, men på något sätt så klickar inte dom här lila/guldiga lacken med mig så värst mycket längre.

Formulan var bra, lite tunn kanske för man behöver tre lager. Torktiden var utomordentligt trevlig i alla fall. Och flaskan är ju bra snygg den också.

Färgen då? Lacket är duokromt. Det skiftar mellan guld och lila och skiftningarna är ganska tydliga och fina. På bilderna ser det ut att vara en hel del penseldrag, men dom syns inte så väldigt tydligt i verkligheten. Det är en ganska ljus lila som det skiftar till och visst är den fin, men jag tror faktiskt att jag gillat lacket bättre som bara lila. Jo, jag vet jag är lite konstig ibland.

Todays theme is: Boutique.  Something that I knew meant Dior, Chanel , YSL and other high brands, but then it turned out that it didn't need to be quite so exclusive and then I immediately came to think of a polish I've had standing for a long time. 

Namely Deborah Lippman Private Dancer one of those polish that I very much wanted, but have not used since I got the bottle. And unfortunately, it turned out that I probably should have used it right when I got it, because then I think I would have loved the polish, but somehow these purple / golden polishes isn't so interesting in my eyes anymore.

The formula was good, a little thin maybe you need three layers for it to cover. The drying time was exceptionally pleasant anyway. And the bottle 's good -looking also.

The color then? The polish is duochrome. It shifts between gold and purple and the shifts are quite clear and nice. In the pictures it looks to be a lot of brush strokes, but they are not very visible in real life. It's a pretty light purple that it shifts into and it's a very nice color, but I actually think I would like the polish better as just purple. Yes, I know I'm a little weird sometimes.

Essence Snow White - Sleepy

Hur slö har inte jag varit med att få ut inlägg om alla lacken från Essence Snow White kollektionen? Det här är inte ens det sista. Helt otroligt.

Dagens lack från denna mycket trevliga kollektion heter Sleepy och det behöver väl inte någon närmare översättning för att ni ska förstå vilken av dvärgarna det fått sitt namn ifrån. Sleepy är inte min favorit av dom här lacken. Det är ett isblått skimmer lack med mörkare blått skimmer i sig.

Som dom andra lacken är även det här ganska lättmålat, men skirt. Det tog tre lager för att få det tillräckligt täckande. Över det här har jag Poshé.

I have been soo lazy with posting the polishes from Essence Snow White collection. And you know what! This is not the last polish of them! I should be ashamed of myself. 

Today's polish from this very nice collection is named Sleepy. One of the cutes dwarves I think.  Sleepy's not my favorite of this collection.

It is an ice blue polish with darker blue shimmer in it. 

As the other polishes from the collection this was easy to paint with, but sheer. It took three coats to get it opaque enough. Over this, I have a layer of  Poshe.

The Neverending Pile Challenge - Drugstore

Dagens tema är Drugstore eller vad ska vi översätta det till? Lack som går att köpa i nästan vilken butik som helst kanske?

Jag har tolkat det så i alla fall och i min hjärna dök då märken som Isadora, Depend, HM, Mavala upp. Jag valde att kombinera två lack ett från Depend och ett från HM.

Bägge har stått ett tag hos mig. Depend lacket tror jag att jag bytt till mig eftersom jag sett swatcher och gillat det riktigt mycket. Mad Confetti från HM fick jag av min svärdotter och det har ju också blivit stående.

Synd för nu när jag kikade lite så insåg jag att Depend 353 och HM Mad Confetti skulle bli en ganska bra kombo. Depend 353 är ett blurple alltså blålila lack. Ett riktigt snyggt och bra krämlack. Två lager räcker för täckning och torktiden är bra.

Jag hade tänkt att göra en omvänd gradient med glitterlacket, men jag fick ändra mig rätt snabbt för glittret var alldeles för glest för att lyckas med det. Istället blev det ett lager över 353. Tycker inte det blev så himla tokigt faktiskt.

Today's theme is Drugstore. For me as a Swede the brands that popped up in my head is: Depend, HM, Isadora and Mavala among others that I have forgotten. 

I decided to go for Swedish brands and two polishes that has been standing a while in my drawer. The Depend polish I think I got in a swap. I know that I wanted it because I've seen swatches and liked it a lot. Mad Confetti from HM is a polish I got from my daughter in law.

It's really sad that those two have been standing there untested because when I took a closer look I realisead that they would look good together. So what I have been using is Depend 353 and HM Mad Confetti. Depend 353 is a blurple thus purple-blue lacquer. A really neat and good creme polish. Two layers is enough for coverage and drying time is good.

I had intended to do a reverse gradient with the glitter polish, but I did change my mind quite quickly for the glitter was too sparse to succeed with that. Instead I layered it over 353 with only one layer. I think this turned out really nice actually .

Nailart Sunday - Summer Flowers!

Jag misstänker att det kommer bli en del påskinspirerat denna Nailart Sunday, men jag kör på mer sommarinspiration jag. Och förresten så passar det ju bättre eftersom sommarbilen hämtas hem idag.

Förra helgen fick jag syn på ett foto på Instagram. Tyvärr var jag inte så smart att jag skrev ner vem som lagt ut det, men i alla fall så hade personen gjort en blommanikyr som jag tyckte var så fin och som jag kände att det där tror jag att jag skulle kunna göra också.

Jag hade precis målat på Rainbow Honey Charaxes vilket skulle bli en ypperlig bas till det här lilla projektet. Fram med nailart penslar, Zoya Dreamy, Zoya Purity och American Apparel Neon Yellow.

Det här var kul och faktiskt inte så svårt. Jag började med att göra en halvcirkel med gult som jag sen drog smala vita streck ifrån för att få det att se ut som en prästkrage. Tydligen har jag en liten förkärlek för den här typen av blommanikyrer! För att piffa till det lite extra har jag sen lagt lite mörkare gula prickar i den gula mitten.

En sak är säker. Jag kommer att göra om den här manikyren igen. Man kan ju givetvis göra vilka färger man vill på blomman, men det här är ju ytterligare en perfekt midsommar manikyr.

My guess is that it will be a lot of Easter inspired manis this Nailart Sunday so I go for a summer inspired one instead. And that is very fitting since today is the day we are getting our summer car home.

Last weekend I saw a photo on Instagram. Unfortunately I was not so smart that I wrote down who published it, but in all cases the person had made ​​a floral manicure which I thought was so nice and I felt I might be able to do it as well..

I had just put on Rainbow Honey Charaxes which would be an excellent base for this little project. Took out nail art brushes, Zoya Dreamy , Zoya Purity and American Apparel Neon Yellow .

This was fun and actually not that difficult. I started by making a semicircle of yellow that I then pulled the narrow white lines from to get it to look like a daisy. Apparently I have a slight preference for this type of floral manicures! To spice it up a little extra, I then added a bit darker yellow dots in the yellow middle.

One thing is certain. I will redo this manicure again. One can of course do what colors you want on the flower, but here 's another perfect midsummer manicure.

Läsarnas Val / Readers Choice! - Dollish Polish 1-UP

Att just det här lacket vann veckans omröstning skyller jag faktiskt på mina barn! Jo, för att av någon anledning har dom bestämt sig för att jag enbart borde visa lack med partajpapper i på bloggen. Och om ni inte vet vad partajpapper är så kan jag förklara att det är strängglitter något som jag inte för mitt liv kan tycka är snyggt.

Så när jag frågade dom vilket av dom tre lacken ni hade att rösta på förra veckan som skulle vinna så blev det självklara svaret Dollish Polish 1-UP. Dom var till och med inne och röstade ett antal gånger för säkerhets skull...

1-UP kommer självklart från Super Mario Bros kollektionen och det är också enda anledningen till att jag har det här lacket. För vem kan motstå en kollektion med Mario namn? Inte jag i alla fall.

Jag funderade på vad jag skulle lägga det här över, för det är inte ett lack att använda på egen hand. Det består av en klar bas med grönt microglitter, lite större grönt glitter, stora vita hexagoner, mindre vita hexagoner och så vitt strängglitter. Första tanken var över svart, men sen funderade jag på om det inte vore bättre med någon typ av neutral bakgrund som inte framhäver dom där strängarna så mycket.

Så det jag gjorde var att jag plockade fram Misa Grey Matters som för övrigt är grymt fint och la det silvergrå lacket i botten. Över det så har jag två lager av 1-UP. Precis som med dom andra ur serien var det lite knepigt att fiska upp de större glittren och torktiden var något seg.

Nå, vad tycker jag då om resultatet. Nej, det har inte ändrat min inställning till strängglitter, men jag tycker ändå att kombinationen av grönt, vitt och grått blev bra. Tack mina söta barn för hjälpen med omröstningen!!

The fact that this polish won this week's poll is something that I blame partly my children for! Well, because for some reason they have decided that I should show any polish that is consisting with partyconfetti (well they say partajpapper in Swedish) on the blog and only those kind of polishes. And if you do not know what confetti paper is I will explain it for you. That is stringglitter something I can't learn to like.

So when I asked them which of the three polishes you were able to vote for in last weeks poll their obvious answer was Dollish Polish 1-UP. They event went to my blog and voted a couple of times for safety's sake... 

1-UP is obviously from the Super Mario Bros. collection and it that is also the only reason I have this polish. Who can resist a collection of polishes with a Mario theme? Not me, anyway.

I thought about what I would put this over, because it's not a polish to use on it's own. It consists of a clear base with green micro glitter, slightly larger green glitter, large white hexagons, smaller white hexagons and white string glitter. My first thought was over black, but then I thought about if it would not be better with some kind of neutral background that does not emphasize those strings so much.

So what I did was I took out Misa Grey Matters which is a very nice silvergrey polish and used that as the base. Over that I have two layers of 1-UP. As with the others in this collection it was a little tricky to fish up the larger glitter and drying time was slightly chewy.
