Golden Oldie Challenge - Holo

Veckans tema är holo och det fanns det ju en del att välja av, men min tanke med den här utmaningen är ju att försöka använda dom där lacken som stått oanvända längst och när jag kollade under fliken holo på bloggen så letade jag upp ett av de första hololacken jag visade här.

Det var i April 2012 som Color Club Wild At Heart fick äran att visas här första gången, nu en sisådär fyra år senare är det dags igen.

Det här är ett mörkt lila lack som inte har en superstark holo precis, men en fin en ändå tycker jag. Det är bra att jobba med och två lager räcker. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Wild At heart släpptes redan 2009 av Color Club vilket får mig att känna att dom var rätt tidigt ute med holo bland mainstream märkena. Visst China Glaze hade ju släppt kollektioner, men så vanligt var det ändå inte med holo vid den här tidpunkten. Jag kan också tycka att det här har blivit lite bortglömt. Nä, om man kollar på uppsjön av holos som finns nu är det inte ett dugg unikt, men då borde det fått mer uppmärksamhet kan man tycka.

Jag tycker i alla fall att det är väl värt att bära igen, snygg färg, holo är alltid kul oavsett styrkan på det och ett lack som fortfarande går att få tag på till vettiga priser.

 

This week's theme is holo and there was a lot of polishes to choose from, but my thought with this challenge is of course to try to use those that was the longest time since I wore last and when I checked under the tab holo at the blog I found one of the first holo I showed here.

It was in April 2012 and it's Color Club Wild At Heart that was honored to appear here for the first time, now about four years later it's time again.

This is a dark purple polish that doesn't have a super strong holo, but a nice one anyway I think. It's good to work with and two layers is enough. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

Wild at Heart was released back in 2009 by Color Club, which makes me feel that they were pretty early with an holo among mainstream brands. Certainly China Glaze had released their OMG collection, but it wasn't that usual with holos at this time. I also think that this has become a bit forgotten. No, if you look at the magnitude of Holos available now, it's not at all unique, but back then I think it should have been given more attention.

I think in any case that it's well worth to wear again, great color, holo is always fun no matter the strength of it and a polish that is still possible to get at sensible prices.

Sia with stamping

Häromdagen visade jag en manikyr som jag gjort med hjälp av grejer från Depend  och då har jag för mig att jag också skrev att det fanns ytterligare en stämpelplatta i paketet jag fick därifrån. Idag tänker jag visa en manikyr gjord med hjälp av just den.

Basen är Zoya Sia som jag sen stämplat med Hit The Bottle A Bolt From The Blue och mönstret är som sagt från Depends nya stämpelplatta.

Att jag gillar ton i ton stämpligar är ju ingen större hemlighet och jag tycker att det här blev riktigt snyggt. Färgerna matchar varandra bra och mönstret är fint.

The other day I showed a manicure that I made using stuff from Depend and I also think that I mentioned that there was another stamping plate in the shipment I got from them. Today I show you a manicure done using that particular plate.

The base is Zoya Sia that I then stamped with Hit The Bottle A Bolt From The Blue and the pattern is, as stated from Depends new stamping plate.

The fact that I like tone on tone stamping is no big secret and I think this turned out really neat. The colors match eachother well and the design is nice.

Idag är det min födelsedag! Jag fyller faktiskt 45 år. Jösses vad tiden gick fort får jag nog lov att säga, tycker inte alls det är länge sedan man hade småbarn och nu är dom vuxna män. 

Jag visade Depend 488 häromdagen och på detta lacket har jag stämplat med mönster från Überchic 6-02 med hjälp av Hit the Bottle Paint The Town Violet. 

Själv tycker jag att det här blev ett alldeles lysande sätt att fira sin födelsedag på via naglarna. 

Today it's my birthday! My 45th birthday actually. I must say that time passed quickly. I don't feel like it's so long ago that I had young children and now they're grown up men.

I showed Depend 488 the other day and on this polish I then stamped with patterns from UberChic 6-02 using Hit the Bottle Paint The Town Violet.

Personally, I think this is an absolutely brilliant way to celebrate the birthday with some help of nail art. 

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: 80s # 2

Denna månaden är det 80-talet som gäller och när jag satt och funderade på vad jag skulle hitta på så kom jag och tänka på mina neonfärgade nitbälten. Smala, smala bälten som jag hade ett i rosa och ett i gult med runda nitar på. Jag ångrar att jag inte sparade dom när vi rensade ut mitt barndomshem, men man kan ju inte ta vara på allt kanske.

Nåväl, det har jag har gjort är att måla med Eyko Punk Punk Polish som hade behövt tunnas ut lite, för det hade stått och blivit rejält tjockt. På det har jag satt runda nitar som fanns i min nail art låda.

This month we have th 80s as our theme and when I sat down and thought about what I would do I remembered my neon colored studded belts that I had. Narrow, narrow belts that I had one in pink and one in yellow with round rivets. I regret that I didn't save them when we cleaned out my childhood home, but you can't take care of everything, perhaps.

Well, what I have done is to paint with Eyko Punk Polish who had needed to be thinned out a bit, for it had become really thick. On that I have sat round rivets that I found in my nail art kit.

Reader's Choice - OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air

Ännu en vecka har passerat och det betyder att jag snart bara har två semesterveckor kvar!

Idag är det som ni vet lördag och läsarnas val här hos mig. Lacket ni rösta fram förra veckan är ett från OPIs Muppet Collection från 2011 och jag konstaterade att det är bara ett glitter jag saknar från den kollektionen och det är det blåa Gone Gonzo.

Men idag är det Fresh Frog of Bel Air vi ska koncentrera oss på. Det här är ett glitterlack med klar bas, mindre glitter i grodgrönt och något större hexagoner i silver. Man kan kanske få det opakt på egen hand om man tar många lager eller svampar på det, men jag har som vanligt valt att lägga det över ett svart krämlack.

Två lager över det svarta är vad jag har på bilderna. Glittret sprider ut sig riktigt smidigt och torkar i en helt ok takt. Det är inte precis en topplacksätare. Ett lager med topplack räcker och när jag skriver det här har det suttit på i alla fall i tolv timmar och ingen tendens till att jag behöver lägga på ett till.

Jag tycker det är ett ganska kul glitter, kanske inte det vackraste som finns, men lekfullt och väldigt snyggt över svart. Kan tänka mig att det här skulle vara perfekt till St.Patriks day.

Vi kör väl lite mer glitter va? Till nästa vecka är det nämligen glitterlack som ni har att rösta på.

Another week has passed and that means that I soon only have two weeks of vaccation left!

Today it's as you know Saturday and readers' choice here at Lacky Corner. The polish you voted for last week is from OPIs Muppet Collection from 2011 and I realised that it's just one of the glitter polishes from this collection that I don't have and that is the blue Gone Gonzo.

But today we should concentrate on Fresh Frog of Bel Air. This is a glitter polish with clear base, small frog green glitters and slightly larger hexagons in silver. One can perhaps get it opaque on it's own if you take many layers or sponge it on, but I have as usually chosen to put it over a black cream polish.

Two coats of Fresh Frog over the black base is what I have in the pictures. The glitter spreads out really smoothly and dries in an ok pace. It's not a glitter that eats the topcoat.  One layer of topcoat is enough and as I write this I have been wearing this for a good twelve hours and it doesn't look at all as if I should need more topcoat. 

I think it's a pretty fun glitter, maybe not the prettiest there is, but playful and very nicely over black. I can imagine that this would be perfect for St.Patriks day.

Let's have some more glitter shall we? For next week you will have three different glitter polishes to vote on.

Depend - 488

Återigen har jag blivit väldigt positivt överraskad av ett Depend lack. För nummer 488 är också ett sånt där lack som ser nästan tråkigt ut i flaskan, men jag måste säga att det här var väldigt fint när jag fått det på naglarna.

488 är ett riktigt ljust rosa krämlack nästan så att jag vill säga vitt med rosa nyans, men det är nog att ta i förstås. I alla fall är det ett sånt där lack som ser väldigt fräscht ut på naglarna och inte alls tantigt som jag befarade att det skulle göra.

Det var bra att lacka med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Jag blev faktiskt lite kär i det här lacket. Gillar det skarpt, men det satt inte länge på naglarna förrän det fanns lite nail art på, men den får ni se på måndag.

Kanske ska säga också att 488 är en del av Depends sommarkollektion som du kan hitta ute i butikerna just nu.

Again, I have been very pleasantly surprised by a Depend polish. Because number 488 is also one of those polishes that looks almost dull in the bottle, but I must say that this was very nice when I got it on the nails.

488 is a really light pink cream polish almost as I want to say white with pink in it, but that might be a bit excessive I guess. In all cases, it's one of those polishes that looks very fresh on the nails and not like something and old lady would wear as I feared it would look at all. 

It was good to paint with and covers in two layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

I actually fell a little in love with this polish. I like it a lot, but it didn't sit long on my nails before it had some nail art on it, but you'll see that on Monday.

Perhaps I should say that 488 is part of Depends summer collection that you can find in stores right now.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Gold or Silver

Denna veckan är det guld och silver som gäller i vårat Golden Oldie Challenge och jag har plockat fram mitt absoluta favoritlack när det kommer till guldlack.

Zoya Ziv är nog det första guldlacket som jag verkligen trivdes i och fortfarande trivs lika bra i. Kanske för att det inte är så där rödguldsaktigt utan mer åt det bruna lite lugna hållet.

Ännu ett Zoya lack som är hur smidigt som helst att lacka med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Jag tycker väldigt mycket om det här lacket både att bära på egen hand och som bas till nail arts eller som accentnagel till något annat. Gillar man guldlack så är det här nästan ett måste i samlingen.

This week the theme in our Golden Oldie Challenge is gold or silver and I have picked up my absolute favorite nail polish when it comes to gold.

Zoya Ziv is probably the first gold polish that I really liked wearing and still thrives equally well in. Maybe because it's not like that really shine redgoldish, but more brownish calmer gold color. 

This is another Zoya polish that is really easy to apply and covers in two coats. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

I really like this polish both wear on it's own and as a base to nail arts or as accent nail with another polish. If you like gold polishes this is almost a must in your collection.

Depend Stamping

I förra veckan dök det ner en låda proppfull med nail art saker från Depend och bland dom grejerna bl.a stamping kit och stampinglack. Givetvis var det de grejerna som jag var mest nyfiken på och ville testa först.

Kittet består av stämpel, skrapa, två stämpellack och två mönsterplattor och lackförpackningen jag fick har svart, vitt och silverlack.

Det jag har använt mig av är plattan från kittet och den vita stämpelfärgen. Stämpeln som följer med är väl helt ok, men jag gillar mina marshmallow stämplar så mycket bättre så jag har använt mig av en sådan istället.

Lacket som jag stämplat över är Depend 486. Mönstren på plattan var bra etsade och plockades lätt upp av stämpeln och jag gillade lacket riktigt mycket också. Jag har inte testat det över mörkare färger än, men tror att det borde vara tillräckligt täckande även för att användas så.

Allt som allt så är jag riktigt nöjd med produkterna. I lådan fanns även en annan platta som säljs för sig själv som ser ut att ha många fina mönster.

De här varorna finns hos Åhlens och vissa parfymerier. Kittet kostar 139:- och stämpellacken 69:- vilket jag tycker är rätt överkomliga priser.

Last week I got a big box crammed with nail art stuff from Depend and among the things in it was a stamping kit and stamping polishes. Naturally, it was those things  that I was most curious about and wanted to test first.

The kit consists of stamper, scraper, two stamping polishes and two stampingplates and the package with stamping polishes that I received has a black, white and silver polish.

What I have been using for this manicure is one of the plates from the kit and the white stamping polish. The stamp that comes in the kit is a ok, but I like my marshmallow stamps so much better so I am using such instead.

The polish that I stamped over is Depend 486. The patterns on the plate was well etched and picked up easily by the stamp and I liked the polish very much. I have not tested it over darker colors yet, but believe that it should be opaque enough to use of such too..

All in all, I'm really happy with the products. There was another stamping plate in the box that is sold by itself that looks to have many nice designs as well.

These products are available at Åhlens. The kit costs 139 SEK and the set with stamping polish 69SEk which I think is pretty affordable.

Zoya - Sia

Det blir en del blått på bloggen denna veckan, det var inte riktigt tanken, men slumpade sig så. Idag visar jag er det royalblåa Sia från Zoya som jag fått från Katarina på Edgy Polish. 

Zoyas krämlack sviker en sällan och inte det här heller. Smidigt att jobba med och täcker på två lager. Torktiden var bra och på bilderna har jag topplack på.

Jag älskar verkligen den här blåa färgen på krämlack. Så himla snyggt. Alltså är det här i mina ögon ett riktigt höjdarlack.

Vill man köpa detta eller andra lack från Zoya som är ett av mina favoritmärken så finns dom hos Edgy Polish.

There will be lots of blue polishes on the blog this week, it was not intentional, but just turned out that way. Today I will show you the royal blue Sia from Zoya that I received from Katarina at Edgy Polish.

Zoyas cream polishes rarley disapoints me and not this either. Easy to work with and covers in two layers. The drying time was good and in the pictures I have topcoat on.

I really love this blue color on cream polishes. Gorgeous in my opinion. So as you might understood this is a winner in my eyes.

Depend O2 - 486

Idag tänkte jag minsann medverka i Emelies blå måndag. Första gången på länge känner jag.

Ett av sommarens lack från Depend O2 heter 486 och är ett ljusblått krämlack som täcker på två lager och torkar fort. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Jag blev glatt överraskad av det här lacket. I flaskan ser det ok ut, men inte speciellt spännande, men jag tycker verkligen att det blev riktigt fint på naglarna. En fräsch och fin sommarfärg som dessutom kan bli underlag till nail art.

Today I will participate in Emilie's blue Monday. First time in a really long time.

One of the polishes from Depends summer collection is called 486 and is a light blue cream polish that covers in two coats and dries quickly. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

I was pleasantly surprised by this polish. In the bottle it looks ok, but not particularly exciting, but I really think this looks very nice on the nails. A fresh and beautiful summer color that can also be the base for nail art.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: 80s # 1

Ny månad och nytt tema i The Nail Challenge Collaborative. Denna gången är det 80-tal som gäller och med tanke på att jag var tonåring på 80-talet borde jag kunna hitta inspiration tycker jag.

För mig känns det som att det var mycket färger och mycket djurmönster så varför inte kombinera dessa? Jag har China Glaze Purple Panic i botten och har sen stämplat med mönster från  MoYou London Back To the 80s 02.

För mig känns det här väldigt mycket 80-tal, men även något som funkar rätt bra nu också.

New month and new theme in The Nail Challenge Collaborative. This time it's the 80s that is the inspiration and considering that I was a teenager in the 80s, I should be able to find inspiration pretty easy.

For me it feels like it was a lot of colors and animal prints back then so why not combine them? I have China Glaze Purple Panic as the base and have stamped with a pattern from MoYou London Back to the 80s 02.

For me, this feels very much 80s, but also something that works pretty well now.

Reader's Choice - A-England Gloriana

Lördag igen och utflykt till stan för att köpa resväskor.

Har precis lackat om till veckans läsarnas val lack. Ni valde A-England Gloriana av de tre röda som fanns att välja på. Och vilket vackert lack det här är!

Gloriana är ett rött foil lack med guldflakes i. Fast inte knallrött utan mer åt koppar hållet troligen på grund av alla guld flakesen. Det var fantastiskt att måla med och täcker på två lager. Torktiden är bra. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Alltså finishen i det här lacket är bara så fin. Och färgen är också riktigt snygg. Vad mer kan man säga? Som ni förstår så gillar jag lacket skarpt.

Till nästa vecka blir det gröna lack att rösta på.

Saturday again and I think we will take a trip to the town to buy suitcases.

I have just repainted my nails with this week's Readers' Choice polish. You chose A-England Gloriana from the three red last week. And what a beautiful polish this is!

Gloriana is a red foil with golden flakies in. Though not bright red but more copper probably because all the gold flakes. It was great to paint with and covers in two layers. The drying time is good. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

The finish of this polish makes it so incredible nice. And of course the color is also awesome. What more can you say? As you probably have guessed I like this polish a lot.

For the next week there will be green polishes to vote for.

Nine Zero Lacquer - Spectrum

Hade hoppats på lite fint väder idag, men det får tydligen bli städning istället för att ligga ute och slöa.

Men jag glädjer mig i alla fall åt att det är inofficiell holofredag hos Sminkan och att jag har ett riktigt snyggt grönt lack att visa er.

Idag är det Nine Zero Lacquer Spectrum som jag bjuder på ett härligt ljust grönt lack med snygga regnbågar. Smidigt att jobba med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Det är ganska gultonat det här lacket vilket kanske inte är det mest smickrande mot min hudton, men det struntar jag fullständigt i för färgen är så härlig och man blir så glad av lacket. Jag gillar det här riktigt, riktigt mycket och känner mig smått ledsen över att jag nu bara har ett till lack att prova från Nine Zero.

 

I had hoped for some nice weather today, but it looks like cleaning the house will be todays event instead of being lazy in the sun. 

But I am happy anyway because it's the unofficial holofriday at Sminkan and because I have a really neat green polish to show you.

Today I show you Nine Zero Lacquer Spectrum a beautiful bright green polish with nice rainbows. Easy to work with and covers in two layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

It has a yellow tone to it which may not be the most flattering to my skin tone, but I don't care cause the color is so lovely and it's one of those polishes that makes you happy. I like this very, very much and I feel somewhat sad that I now just have one more polish from Nine Zero in my untried box.
