Winter Nail Art Challenge: Winter Characters

Idag blir det lite plock här hemma. Måste impregnera de nya soffkuddarna och tror minsann det är dags att slå in julklappar också.

Ute är det faktiskt fortfarande snö så jag tyckte det passade bra att göra en snögubbe på naglarna när temat är vinterkaraktärer. Jag har OPI Coalmates som bas och den lille snögubben är gjord med hjälp av layering stamping med mönster från Über Chic Holiday Jingle och lite olika stämpellack. Sen svampade jag på lite snö på marken och gjorde lite fallande snö med hjälp av dottingtools.

Det här med att stämpla i lager är väldigt kul och jag är nöjd med hur den här manikyren ser ut. Den får också representera Nail Challenge Collaboratives Winter/Christmas tema.

Today I will fix some stuff at home but mostly important is to impregnate the new sofa pillows and I think it's time to wrapp the Christmas gifts as well.

Outside, it's still snowy so I thought it was a good idea to make a snowman on the nails when the theme is winter characters. I have OPI Coalmates as a base and the little snowman is made using layering stamping with patterns from Über Chic Holiday Jingle and some different stampingpolishes. Then I sponged on some snow on the ground and did some falling snow using dotting tools.

I really enjoy doing layering stamping. It's really fun and I'm pleased with how this manicure turned out. And it will also represent the winter/christmas theme in Nail Challenge Collaborative.

OPI - Coalmates

Vilken söndag det blev för oss! Jag plockade fram julsakerna och testade ljusslingan till granen, sönder.. Eller några av ljusen var det så vi åkte för att köpa reservljus. Visade sig att det skulle bli dyrare än en ny slinga, så när granen ska kläs i år blir det med nya ljus. Efter det åkte vi hem och skulle fixa lite när tvättmaskinen börjar låta mycket skumt. När min man skulle tömma den var tvätten dyblöt och när vi försökte köra lite centrifugering så hade vår fina gamla vän gett upp. Det var bara att åka till stan och köpa tvättmaskin.

Jag hade tänkt att blogga och fixa rätt mycket idag, men då strulade det med julklapparna till min mans företag så det blev att ordna med det istället och umgås med sonen som äntligen börjar bli bra efter sin halsfluss. Men nu har jag då äntligen fixat till mina naglar med en riktigt snygging.

OPI Coalmates är ett svartgrått lack med både skimmer och lite prismatiskt glitter i. Underbart att jobba med. Täcker på två lager. Jag har topplack över, vilket rekommenderas för hållbarhetens skull, men för glansigheten funkar det utan.

Ännu ett lack ur OPI:s julkollektion som inte är så värst julaktigt om man inte tänker på att i vissa sagor så får stygga barn kolbitar i sin julstrumpa förstås. Juligt eller ej så tycker jag det här är supersnyggt och jag funderar faktiskt på att bära det här på julafton till min klänning som är vinröd med en massa mönster.

What a Sunday we had! I dug up our Christmas ornaments from the wardrobe where we keep them and tested the lights for the Christmas tree, broken. Or some of the lights were so we went to buy some extra. Turned out that it would be more expensive to do so than a new loop, so our Christmas tree will ha brand new lights in it this year. After that we went home and started to do all the stuff that needs to be taking care of when suddenly our washing machine started to sound really weird. When my husband was to empty it, the laundry was soaking wet and when we tried to do an extra centrifugation, our nice old friend had given up. Back in the car and a trip to town to buy a new machine.

My plan was to do a lot of blogging today, but then it turned out that the gifts my husband and his companion was going to give their employees had not turned up as the should, so I had to help out a bit with that instead and I was hanging out with my son who finally starts getting well after his tonsillitis. But now I've finally fixed my nails with a really nice look.

OPI Coalmates is a black-gray polish with both shimmer and a little prismatic glitter in. Great to work with. It covers in two layers. I have topcoat over, which is recommended for sustainability, but for the shine it works without.

Another polish from this years OPI Christmas collection, which doesn't excatly scream Christmas season if you don't think of the fact that in some fairy tales, naughty kids get a piece of coal in their Christmas stockings. Christmas like or not, I think this is super nice and I'm actually thinking of wearing this on Christmas Eve, I think it would look great to my dress, which is wine red with a lot of patterns.

Reader's Choice - Delush Polish Glam Squad

Idag har vi varit på lampjakt. Gick sådär eftersom varenda lampa vi hittade som vi ville ha var slut i lager. Nåja, att vänta tills på onsdag kan väl gå an.

Känner förkylningen krypa på mig, inte något jag hade precis önskat mig i julklapp, men lär inte ha någon bytesrätt.

Idag blir det ett fantastiskt rött lack som ni får se. Delush Polish Glam Squad är ett julrött metalliclack med ett ljuvligt djup i. Två lager är allt man behöver och så lite topplack så är man färdig för julfesten.

Alltså det här är verkligen helt otroligt snyggt. Jag har inte så mycket mer att säga, ni ser ju hur det ser ut!

Tre otestade röda har jag plockat fram denna gång.

Today we have been hunting for a lamp to have beside our new sofa. I didn't go very well because every lamp we found that we liked was out of stock. Well, at least some of them came back in stock in the middle of the week. 

I feel like I have a cold coming, not something I wished for Christmas, but I guess there is very little to do about it. 

Today, I have a fantastic red polish for you. Delush Polish Glam Squad is a Christmas red metallic with an amazing depth in. Two layers are all you need and a little top coat and then you're ready for the Christmas party.

This is truly amazing. I don't have much more to say, just look at it!

Winter Nail Art Challenge - Wrapping Paper or Bows

Dagens tema är omslagspapper eller rosetter. Eftersom min Lucia manikyr innehöll rosetter så satsade jag istället på omslagspapper. I min låda med julpapper finns en ganska nyinköpt rulle (säg inget till min man, jag lovade att inte köpa mer...) med brun botten och svarta renar med lite Merry Christmas text som fick bli min inspiration idag.

Basen jag har använt är China Glaze What's She Dune? jag har hittat mönstren på Über Chic Holiday 02 och BP 192 plattorna. Den svarta färgen är Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.

Jag tycker det blev en rätt perfekt tolkning och jag hoppas att göra fina paket med det här pappret.

Today's theme is wrapping paper or bows. Since my Lucia manicure contained bows, I decided to go for a wrapping paper inspired manicure. In my box of Christmas paper there is a fairly newly purchased roll (don't say anything to my husband, I promised not to buy more ...) with brown base and black reindeers with some Merry Christmas text that became my inspiration today.

The base I've used is China Glaze What's She Dune? I've found the patterns on the Über Chic Holiday 02 and BP 192 plates. The black color is Hit The Bottle As Black As Night.

I think I made a perfect interpretation and I hope to make nice Christmas gifts with this paper.

Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Winter/Christmas #2

I utskicket från Born Pretty Store fanns det ett ark med stenciler för nail art. Jag vill inte säga vinyls för det är inte sånt material i de här, men funktionen är ju samma. Bland dessa fanns fina snöflingor som jag kände skulle bli vackra i silverholo över gårdagens OPI Holidazes Over You.

De här stencilerna är helt ok att jobba med, men fastnar gärna lite för bra på nageln vilket gör att det kan bli lite smetigt när man tar bort den. De är av ganska tunt material som blir lite sladdrigt. Jag tyckte nog också att mönstret var i största laget. Ni hittar dom här.

Jag valde att fylla i mönstret med Hit The Bottle Holo Beautiful. Det var inte meningen att det skulle bli en accentnagel, men jag misslyckades med mönstret och stencilen fastnade lite väl bra på nageln så det fick bli en lite lösning på det hela. Men allt som allt måste jag säga att jag verkligen gillar den här manikyren. Så fint med silverholo på det extremt mörkblåa lacket.

In the package I got from Born Pretty Store there was a sheet of stencils for nail art. I don't want to say vinyls because it's not such material in these, but the function is the same. Among these were nice snowflakes that I felt would be beautiful in silverholo over yesterday's OPI Holidazes Over You.

These stencils are quite ok to work with, but they tend to stick a little to much to the nail, which could make the pattern a bit sticky when you remove the stencil. They are of fairly thin material, that hasn't got that much stability. I also thought that the pattern could have been a bit smaller. You can find them here.

I chose to fill in the pattern with Hit The Bottle Holo Beautiful. It was not supposed to be an accent nail, but I failed with the pattern and the stencil got stuck on the nail so this is my solution to that. But all in all, I have to say I really like this manicure. The silverholo looks beautiful over the extremely dark blue polish.

This is also my second manicure for the Nail Challenge Collaboratives Winter / Christmas theme.
