China Glaze - OMG

Idag är det sista jobbardagen för gubben min, så skönt att få lite sällskap här hemma och förhoppningsvis så blir det lite små utflykter i vårt avlånga land. Annars har dagen varit lugn, tränat knät och lunchat vid dammen. Inväntar kvällen och något svalare luft så jag kan plantera några blommor jag köpt.

Det är fredag och vid det här laget så vet ni att det betyder holofredag hos Sminkan. Idag visar jag första lacket ut från China Glaze OMG Flashback kollektionen och jag började med det som lockade minst. Lacket som kollektionen är döpt efter. OMG är ett klassiskt silverholo. Formulan var lite knepig. Man behöver ta rätt tjocka lager för att slippa holosjuka på detta faktiskt. Kan vara mitt baslack som inte är helt kompatibelt med lacket också, men jag tror faktiskt inte det. Det ser jätteskirt ut om man som jag tar lite för tunt första lager, men jag räddade upp situationen och två räckte. Jag har topplack över på bilderna. Ett topplack som jag för övrigt inte är så förtjust i. Det kommer från Superchic Lacquer och jag tycker att det ofta bildas bubblor i det här.

Tillbaka till OMG. Klassiskt skrev jag och det menar jag verkligen för lacket är en klassiker i sig och China Glaze har verkligen återskapat originalet vilket jag tycker är riktigt roligt. Vi har ju sett en del jubilemskollektioner där man verkligen blivit snuvad på upplevelsen. Det är silver och det är fantastiskt fina linjära regnbågar i det här. När det här släpptes var det ett suveränt och lite unikt lack, det är det inte längre. Det finns bättre silverholos, men fint det är det då fortfarande.

Today is the last job day for my hubby before his summer vaccation. It will be nice to have some company here at home and hopefully we will get to go on one or two smaller trips in our long country. Otherwise, the day has been calm, exercised my knee and had lunch at the pond. Now I'm waiting for the evening to come with some cooler air so I can plant some flowers I bought.

It is Friday and by now you know that it means holofriday ​​at Sminkan. Today, I show you the first polish from theChina Glaze OMG Flashback collection and I started with the one I was least drawn to. The polish that has the same name as the collection. OMG is a classic silver holo. The formula was a little tricky. You need to take a pretty thick first layer to avoid holosickness. I think it might be my basecoat that isn't that good combo with this , but probably not. It looks really sheer if you take a very thin first layer as I did, but I rescued the situation and two were enough. I have a top coat on in the pictures. A topcoat that I'm not so fond of. It comes from Superchic Lacquer and I have problems with getting bubbles in my manicure from this. 

Back to OMG. Classical I wrote and I to be honest both the polish itself and the color is classic and China Glaze has really recreated the original which I think is really great. We have seen some jubilee collections where you have really been disapointed in the past. It's silver and there are amazing nice linear rainbows in this. When this was released, it was an awesome and almost unique polish, it isn't any more. There are better silverholos out there, but this is still very very nice.

Igår fick jag ett ryck och städade huset när det var som allra varmast ute. Faktum är att det var svalare inomhus, men rätt svettig blev man. Värmen verkar inte ge med sig alls och regnet är långt borta. Härligt, men nu börjar man bli riktigt orolig för hur det ska bli. Djurägare har redan fått nödslakta djur och brunnar sinar. Inte utan att man funderar lite på hur resten av sommaren och hösten ska bli.

Idag ska jag visa er ett lack som inte alls var överens med min kamera, så om ni tycker att färgen på mina fingrar ser lite konstig ut är det för att jag för en gång skull trixat lite med lackfärgen i efterhand och ändå är den inte alls så neongrön på bilderna som den är i verkligheten. Det här är Palm Tree Shake från Depend 7 Days Life of Venice kollektion. Lite trixigt att jobba med, men det går att komma undan med två lager. Eller tre tunna. Jag har topplack på bilderna.

Som sagt det här är neongrönt och det är helt ljuvligt. Jag fullkomligt älskar det här lacket. Det kanske ser mer gulaktigt ut på bilderna, men det är ett klassiskt grönt, dock inte äkta neon för det torkar inte matt. Jag är inte alls nöjd med hur jag framställer lacket, men jag hoppas att detta inte hindrar er från att ut och köpa detta, för det är verkligen helt underbart i verkligheten.

Yesterday I suddenly got a feeling and cleaned the house when it was the warmest outside. The fact is that it was cooler indoors, but it was quite sweaty anyway. The heat does not seem to go away at all and the rain is far away. Lovely, but I'm starting to get really worried about how this will end. Animal owners have already been forced to send some to emergency slaughter because they have no food for them and wells are getting dry. Can't help but thinking how the rest of the summer and autumn will be without any rain soon. 

Today, I'll show you a polish that didn't agree at all with my camera, so if you think the color of my fingers looks a little strange, it's because I'll had to mix a little bit with the saturation and hue to make it more like the neongreen that it is in reality than what my photos showed. This is Palm Tree Shake from the Depend 7 Days Life of Venice collection. A little tricky to work with, but you can get away with two layers. Or three thin. I have a topcoat on in the pictures.

As I said this is a neon green and it is absolutely gorgeous. I totally love this polish. It may look more yellowish on the pictures, but it's a classic neon green color, but not real neon because it does not dry matte. I'm not at all pleased with how I present this to you, but I hope this does not prevent you from going out buying this, because it's really wonderful in reality.

June's Haul

Då har vi kommit in i Juli månad och jag fyller snart år! Juni blev en riktigt trevlig lackmånad måste jag säga. Många fina dök ner i min brevlåda och bland dessa ett lack som jag har haft på min lemming lista läänge. DV8 från China Glaze. CG släppte jubileumsutgåvor av delar av sin OMG kollektion som firar 10 år i år och till min stora glädje så ser lacken ut som originalen. Kollektionen kallas OMG Flashback och den kunde jag bara inte låta bli att köpa. Några LE Glam Polish blev det också. Men nu får jag faktiskt se till att hålla i min plånbok. Jag har några lack på väg från tidigare månaders Polish Pick Up och det kan bli något litet köp nu i Juli, men sen börjar jag gå på studiebidrag och får försöka hålla mig till lacken jag får i utskick från olika märken. Och jag lovar det räcker och blir över om man kollar mängden, men ibland blir man ju lite sugen på något annat också.

We have already entered July month and my birthday is coming up very soon! June became a really nice month when it comes to polishes. So many nice ones in my mailbox and among these a polish I've had on my lemming list for a loong time. DV8 from China Glaze. CG released a anniversary collection with parts of the OMG collection, this collection is celebrating 10 since it was released this year, and to my great pleasure the polishes looks like the original. The collection is called OMG Flashback and I just could not help but buy it. Some LE Glam Polishes also had to be a part of my collection. But now I really have to be careful with spending to much money. I have some polishes on my way from earlier months Polish Pick Up and I might buy some polishes this month, but then I start studying and I will try to stick to the polishes I receive as press samples from different brands. And I promise it's enough polishes to make me happy for a long time, but sometimes you get a bit of craving for something else too.

Vilken härlig helg vi har haft på Öland! Fint väder, mycket god mat och trevligt sällskap. Min man fick dessutom leka av sig ordentligt när hans systerdotters lille 4-åring insåg att han var villig att vara med på både tjuv och polis och datten. Så härligt att se glädjen i hans ögon när de vuxna vill vara med och leka. Lite fotografering blev det också.

I slutet av Maj eller om det var i början på Juni så släppte Essie sin Midsummer collection, en kollektion avsedd enbart för våra nordiska länder och i Limited Edition så jag vill påpeka när jag visar lack från den att det kan vara lite svårt att få tag på lacken, men jag skulle tro att kollektionen fortfarande finns kvar hos många av de affärer som vanligen säljer märket och jag har sett lacken i lager hos en del nätbutiker också. Lacken har färger inspirerade av de blommor som växer runt midsommar och namnen på lacken har också inspiration av Nordiska midsommartraditioner.

Även om vi faktiskt tagit oss in i Juli redan så funkar väl det ändå med ett lack som heter June In Bloom. Ett ganska klassiskt rosa lack, men med ett väldigt vackert silverskimmer. Formulan var ok, men man får se till att måla rätt flödigt på första lagret för att få det andra jämt och fint. Eller kan nog tre väldigt tunna funka också. Jag har topplack på bilderna.

Om det inte varit skimmer i det här lacket hade jag sagt: jo, det är ok, men inget särskilt spännande. Nu tycker jag att det här är riktigt trevligt och så gillar jag namnet och tanken med kollektionen väldigt mycket.

What a wonderful weekend we have had at Öland! Nice weather, very good food and nice company. My husband also got to play properly when his sister's 4-year-old grandson realized he was willing to join both playing thief and police and other things. So lovely to see the joy in his eyes when he realized that the adults was willing to play with him. I also managed to sneek in some photography. 

At the end of May, or at the beginning of June, Essie released a Midsummer collection, a collection that was only released in the Nordic countries and in a Limited Edition only, so I want to point out when I show polishes from this collection that it can be a bit hard to find them in stores, but I'm pretty sure you could still find these in many of the shops that usually sell the brand and I have seen it in stock at some online stores as well. The polishes has colors inspired by the flowers that grow around midsummer and the names of the them also have inspiration from Nordic midsummer traditions.

Even though we actually entered July, it still works with a polish called June In Bloom. A pretty classic pink, but with a very beautiful silver shimmer. The formula was ok, but you should make sure to paint very fluently on the first layer to make sure the second one looks smooth. Or maybe three very thin would work as well. I have topcoat on in the pictures.

If there was no shimmer in this polish, I'd said: yes, that's okay, but nothing very exciting. Now I think this is really nice and I like the name and the thought of the collection very very much.

Reader's Choice - Turtle Tootsie Polishes Enchanted Glades

Idag ska vi åka till Öland för att fira två 60-åringar, ska bli kul att se deras sommarstuga som vi inte tidigare kommit iväg till och kul att träffa makens familj.

På naglarna sitter lacket som ni mina läsare valt åt mig. Denna gången är det Turtle Tootsie Polishes Enchanted Glades ett mycket vackert grönt lack som har både holo och skimmer i sig. Underbar formula som du inte behöver mer än två lager av. På bilderna har jag topplack över.

Det här tycker jag är en helt underbar sommarfärg och det lilla guldskimret i lacket gör precis det där lilla extra som det är tänkt. Det enda tråkiga med det här är att det var ett LE lack som jag är osäker på om man fortfarande kan köpa. Turtles sida är nere för underhåll i skrivande stund så jag kan tyvärr inte ge er korrekt information angående detta.

För ett tag sedan köpte jag många OPI lack på rea så jag tänkte ni skulle få välja mellan tre olika glitter från märket till nästa gång.

Today we are going to Öland to celebrate two 60-year-olds, it will be fun to see their summer house, which we have not previously been to, and fun to meet a big part of my husband's family.

On my nails I have the polish that you my readers chose for me. This time it's Turtle Tootsie Polishes Enchanted Glades that got the honor. This is a very beautiful green polish that has both holo and shimmer in it. Great formula that you don't need more than two layers of. In the pictures I have topcoat over.

This is in my opinion a beautiful summer color and the little gold shimmer gives it just that little extra that it's supposed to do. The only sad thing about this is that it was a LE polish that I'm not sure if it's still available. Turtle's page is down for maintenance at the time of writing so unfortunately I'm not able to provide you with correct information about this.

Some time ago I bought a lot of OPI:s on sale so I thought you should have a choice of three different glitters from the brand to vote for until next time.
