ABC Challenge - S = Sephora Deep In Her Eyes

Välkommen till en ny vecka med nya fina lack att titta på. Vi börjar med bokstaven S i vårt ABC Challenge och till detta har jag valt att visa er ett lack från Sephora som heter Deep In Her Eyes.

Det här är ett blå/lila metallic lack, som man fick vara rätt noga med hur man målade med för att undvika alltför tråkiga synliga penseldrag. Dock täcker det bra och två lager är nog. Torktiden normal, men inte snabb. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Alltså det är absolut inget fel varken på färgen eller finishen på det här lacket, men återigen är det ett snyggt lack som inte riktigt går hem hos mig. Det är ett helt ok lack, men inget som jag troligen kommer sträcka mig efter igen.

Welcome to a new week with hopefully nice polishes to watch. We begin with the letter S in our ABC Challenge and for this I have chosen to show you a polish from Sephora called Deep In Her Eyes.

This is a blue / purple metallic polish, which you had to be quite careful with when you painted in order to avoid boring visible brushstrokes. However, it covers well and two coats are enough. The drying time is normal, but not fast. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

There's absolutely nothing wrong neither with color or finish of this polish, but again it's a nice polish that not quite hit the mark with me. It's a quite ok polish, but nothing that I probably will reach for again.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Candy & Sweets #1

Ny månad och temat är Candy & Sweets och det går ju att tolka på rätt många olika sätt. Och just därför valde jag att göra en nail art som jag velat göra ett tag faktiskt. 

Cupcake naglar. Jag trodde ju att det här skulle vara ganska svårt och har kanske därför dragit mig lite för att testa, men jag hade fel, för det här var faktiskt rätt lätt och dessutom väldigt kul tycker jag. 

Lacken jag använt mig av är Appeal4 Acacallis Goodie, China Glaze Heart Of The Matter, OPI What's Your Point'setta och Zoya Purity. 

New month and the theme is Candy & Sweets and you can of course interpreted that in quite a few different ways. And just because of that I chose to do a nail art that I have wanted to do for a while, actually.

Cupcake nails. I'd think this would be quite difficult and have waited to do this a bit,  but I was wrong, for this was actually fairly easy and also very fun to do I think.

The polishes I used is Appeal4 Acacallis Goodie, China Glaze Heart Of The Matter, OPI What's Your Point'setta and Zoya Purity.

Reader's Choice - Love Thy Polish Smurf's Got The Blues

Det är andra gången den här veckan som jag är lite smått elak mot er. Denna gången heter anledningen Love Thy Polish Smurf's Got The Blues. Lacket som ni valt åt mig som veckans läsarnas val.

Om inte jag är helt ute och cyklar så finns inte det här märket längre. Så det är därför jag känner lite taskig. Lacket går inte att få tag på längre. Om man inte hittar det på en blogsale förstås.

I alla fall så är det här ett Smurfblått eller möjligen jeansblått lack med en ganska stark holoeffekt. Det var smidigt att lacka med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Visst är det här otroligt fint, men jag är faktiskt inte överförtjust. Vet absolut inte varför, men jag är inte det. Kan det vara att jag fått vårkänslor och hellre vill bära ljusa lack kanske. Men det brukar ju inte hindra mig i vanliga fall precis. Gillar jag lacket så gör jag det oavsett årstid.

Jag vet verkligen inte vad som inte klickade mellan mig och den här smurfen, men man kan väl inte älska dom alla kanske. Dock tycker jag ju fortfarande att det är fint.

It's the second time this week that I'm a little bit mean to you. This time the reason is Love Thy Polish Smurf's Got The Blues. The polish that you have chosen for me as this week's Readers' Choice.

Unless I'm completely way off this brand has stoped making polishes. So that's why I feel a little mean to you. You can't buy this polish anymore unless you can find it on a blog sale of course.

In any case, this is a Smurf blue or possibly denim blue polish with a pretty strong holo. It was easy to apply and covers in two layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

Sure, this is incredibly nice, but I'm not really sold on it. I absolutely don't know why, but I'm not. Could it be that I have spring feelings and would rather wear bright polishes. Well maybe, but that doesn't usually happen to me. If I like a polish I like it no matter what season it is. 

I really don't know what it is that didn't click between me and this smurf, but I guess you can't love them all. However, I still think it is nice.

OPI - Stop I'm Blushing!

Dags för lack nummer två från OPI:s Soft Shades Pastel 2016 kollektion som kommer ut nu i början av April i butikerna. Jag har valt att visa er Stop I'm Blushing både på egen hand och med en accentnagel i form av en vattendekal.

Stop I'm Blushing är ett svagt aprikosfärgat pastell lack. Jag tror att det står någonstans att det ska vara svagt rosafärgat och det är väl en gränsfråga kanske, men jag tycker att det känns mer aprikos än rosa.

Det här var lite knepigt i formulan. Ganska ojämnt från början så tre lager och topplack är vad som krävdes. Återigen inget ovanligt för den här typen av färger.

Mjukt, fräsch och vackert. Jag tycker det här är väldigt fint och återigen en perfekt bas till olika nail art.

Time for polish number two from OPI's Soft Pastel Shades 2016 collection coming out now in early April in stores in Sweden. I have chosen to show you Stop I'm Blushing both on it's own and with an accent nail in the form of a water decal.

Stop I'm Blushing is a soft apricot colored pastel polish. I think it says somewhere that it should be pale pink and I guess it's a close one between pink and apricot. 

This was a bit tricky in the formula. Quite uneven from the start, three layers and a topcoat is what was required. Again, nothing unusual for this type of colors.

Soft, fresh and beautiful. I think this is very nice and again a perfect base for various nail art.

ABC Challenge - R = Smitten Polish Radiant Orchid

Idag är jag lite elak mot er läsare för lacket som jag visar till bokstaven R går inte att få tag på längre och märket Smitten Polish har bytt namn till Dreamland Lacquer. Lacket heter i alla fall Radiant Orchid.

För det första så är Orkidéer mina favoritblommor och för det andra så älskar jag lila nagellack. Jamen, då kan det ju inte bli så mycket bättre än så här eller?

Nä, faktiskt inte för lacket är en dröm att måla med. Jag har tre lager på bilderna för jag tyckte färgen djupnade något på det tredje, men för täcknings skull räcker två. Torktiden var jättebra. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Och färgen och holot, ni ser ju hur det ser ut! Behöver jag säga mer än att jag älskar det här lacket? Tror inte det va? Jo, jag kanske ska förklara vad det är för färg på det också. Det här är ett lila lack med mycket dragning åt magenta, men fortfarande lila. Och en riktigt starkt holoeffekt har det också.

För att visa detta tänker jag faktiskt visa en liten filmsnutt också som jag tog när jag var ute och gick i skogen.

Today I am a bit mean to you readers because the polish that I show for the letter R is no longer available and the brand is no longer Smitten Polish but Dreamland Lacquer instead. The polish is called Radiant Orchid.

First of all I have to tell you that my favorite flowers are Orchids and secondly, I love purple nail polish. Well could then be much better than this?

Nah, not really for the polish is a dream to paint with. I have three layers in the pictures I thought the color deepened slightly on the third, but for coverage it's enough with two. The drying time was great. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

This color and that holot, just look at how it looks! Need I say more than that I love this polish? Don't think so huh? Well, perhaps I should explain what kind of color it is too. This is a purple polish with very much hint of magenta, but still purple. And a really strong holo too.

HPB March Spring Blog Link-Up

Jag är med i en grupp på Facebook som heter Hobby Polish Bloggers en grupp där vi som bloggar om nagellack kan få råd och tips om olika plattformar för bloggar, utseende på blogg, vilka språk man ska skriva på och allt annat som man som bloggare ibland vill ha lite råd och tips om. Varje månad anordnas också en link-up. Det vill säga att vi bestämmer ett tema som vi sen gör ett inlägg om och länkar vidare till alla andra som också är med via inLinkz.

Denna månaden är det väl inte så märkligt kanske att temat blev Vår. För trots allt så är det ju faktiskt vår i luften. Och snödroppar på marken.

Jag valde att ha Essie Going Guru som bas till den här manikyren. Sen har jag använt mitt dottingtool för att göra små vårblommor lite osymetriskt över naglarna.

Det blev väl långt ifrån perfekta blommor, men färgerna ihop är så fina och jag tycker ändå att det blev fint och vårigt på något sätt.

I am a member of a group on Facebook called Hobby Polish Bloggers a group where we as nailpolish bloggers can get advice and tips on a variety of subjects regarding blogs and posting. Each month there is also arranged a link-up. We decide on a theme that we then do a post about and links to all the others who are also participating with the help of inLinkz.

This month its not such a big surprise that Spring was choosen as our theme. After all, it's actually spring in the air. And flowers are starting to show up on the ground.

I chose to have Essie Going Guru as the base for this manicure. Then I used my dottingtool to make little small spring flowers asymmetrically over the nails.

Well this is far from perfect flowers, but the colors together is so nice and I still think that it turned out pretty and springlike!

Dance Legend - Gerbera

Jaha, då ska jag idag visa ännu ett lack som jag fick i min adventskalender och ännu ett lack som jag inte ens med god vilja kan säga att jag tycker är snyggt.

Jag har lite tradition att låta mina söner bestämma vad jag ska ha på naglarna när dom fyller år. I alla fall han som bor hemma ännu. Han har någon konstig fascination för strängglitter eller partajpapper som han kallar det. Det har inte jag.

Så när han sa brunt lack eller partajpapper så var det här det enda jag kunde komma på att jag hade otestat i alla fall. Lacket är Dance Legend Gerbera. En kul grej med det här är att på flaskan sitter det en lampa som lyser upp lacket i flaskan. Fullkomligt meningslöst, men rätt kul.

Gerbera består av en klar bas med glitter i guld, rött och gult. Jag valde att lägga det över det svarta A-England Camelot.

Två lager som var rätt lätta att applicera. Jag tyckte glittret spred ut sig bra när man väl hade fått upp det på penseln, för man fick fiska lite i flaskan. Torktiden var ok. På bilderna har jag topplack också.

Det här är verkligen inte min grej. Strängglitter kommer aldrig att vara det. Men visst det kanske hade sett bättre ut i en gradient. Är dock osäker på om detta kommer att testas.

Well today I will now show you another polish that I got in my advent calendar and another polish that I'm not even with some good will can say that I like.

I have a little tradition to let my sons decide what I should wear on the nails when it's their birthday. Well at least the one who still lives at home with us. He has some strange fascination for string glitter or partypaper as he calls it. I don't!

So when he said brown polish or partypaper then this was the only one I could think of that I had untested in any case. The polish is Dance Legend Gerbera. A fun thing with this is that the bottle has a lamp that lights up the polish in the bottle. Completely pointless, but quite fun.

Gerbera consists of a clear base with glitter in gold, red and yellow. I chose to put it over the black A-England Camelot.

Two layers that was pretty easy to apply. I thought that the glitter spread out good once you had got it on to the brush, because you had to do some fishing from the bottle. The drying time was ok. In the pictures I have topcoat on also.

This really is not my thing. String Glitter will never be. But maybe it would have looked better in a gradient. However, not sure if this will ever be tested.

ABC Challenge - Q = A-England Queen Of Scotts

Jag vet inte riktigt hur jag tänkte när jag först valde lack till alla bokstäverna i vårt ABC Challenge och av någon anledning valde ett lack med enbart en siffra till bokstaven Q när jag faktiskt hade tre olika lack med namn som började på just Q.

Gör om gör rätt. Det hela slutade med att jag nu sitter med Queen Of Scotts från A-England på naglarna och således valde att använda detta lack för dagens utmaning.

Jag är svag för A-England lack och Queen Of Scotts är väldigt lätt att tycka om. Ett riktigt mörkt blått lack med ett fint skimmer. Det är precis på gränsen att det här täcker på ett lager, man kan nog få det att göra det, men jag valde ändå att lägga på ett andra. Torktiden är bra och överlag så är det väldigt smidigt att jobba med. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Återigen ett lack som det säkert går att hitta liknande, men med samma fina egenskaper att måla med som A-England kan jag inte lova er. Färgen är helt underbar och jag tycker så mycket om det här lacket.

 

I don't really know how I thought when I first chose polishes to all the letters of our ABC Challenge and for some reason chose a polish with a number to the letter Q when I actually had three different polishes with names that began with Q.

So I had to rethink a bit. It all ended with me now sitting with Queen of Scotts from A-England on the nails and that is my choice for today's challenge.

I'm a sucker for A-England polishes and Queen of Scott's very easy to like. A royal blue polish with a fine shimmer. It's right on the border of being a one coater, you can probably get it to work like that if you take a bit thicker layer, but I chose to put on a second. The drying time is good and overall it's very easy to work with. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

Again, a polish that is certainly possible to find similar once, but with the same fine qualities to paint with as A-England I'm not sure you will find. The color is absolutely wonderful and I like this polish very much.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents: Punk & Rock #4

Hoppas ni har en härlig påskledighet! Jag har i alla fall det och idag ska vi äta Påskmiddag hos min mamma.

Men jag tänker först bjuda er på det sista av inläggen på temat Punk & Rock. Kanske inte den mest tydliga manikyren av de fyra jag gjort på ämnet, men jag gillar verkligen den här och lite döskallar och nitar måste väl funka bra.

Reader's Choice - OPI My Twin Mimmy

Glad Påsk!!

Idag är det ju faktiskt påskafton och vilken tur att ni valde det alldeles påskgula OPI My Twin Mimmy som veckans läsarnas val. Ett alldeles perfekt lack för dagen i mitt tycke. 

Gula lack har en tendens att inte vara så kul att lack med, men My Twin Mimmy var ett av de bättre måste jag nog ändå säga. Inte superbra för tre lager behövs för att det ska bli jämt, men ja har varit med om bra mycket sämre gula krämlack vill jag lova. 

På bilderna är det alltså tre lager och topplack. Torktiden var bra och en av de positiva sakerna med det här lacket är att även om det krävdes tre lager för att det skulle se jämt ut så var det då inte så ojämnt att det krävde topplack. Jag tror man skulle kunna bära det här utan om man nu känner för det. För min egen del så har jag nästan alltid topplack för att förlänga hållbarheten. 

Jag tycker det här är en så himla glad och fin färg. Jag är inte den som bär gula lack så ofta och då är det mest pasteller som jag brukar använda mig av, men det här gillar jag verkligen. Ett litet vitaminpiller på naglarna och som sagt perfekt till påsk. 

Glöm inte att rösta fram din favorit av de tre lacken man kan välja bland till nästa veckas läsarnas val.

Today it's actually Easter Eve and how lucky am I that you chose the perfect Easter yellow OPI My Twin Mimmy for this week's Readers' Choice. An absolutely perfect polish for the day in my opinion.

Yellow polishes has a tendency to be less fun to paint with, but My Twin Mimmy was one of the better I must say. Not super easy you still need three layers for it to cover and not to be streaky, but yes have been through a good deal worse yellow cream polishes, I promise.

In the pictures I have three layers and topcoat on. The drying time was good and one of the positive things about this polish is that although it took three coats to make it look even it was then even and glossy enough to not required topcoat if you for some reason want to skip that. For my own part, I have almost always topcoat on to extend the life of the manicure. 

I think this is such a happy and nice color. I'm not the one wearing yellow polishes that often and when I do it's most pastels which I usually use, but this one I really like. It's like a vitamin pill on the nails and as I said perfect for Easter.

OPI - It's In The Cloud

Jag visade ju bilder på kommande OPI Soft Shade Pastels kollektionen och några dagar senare så dök dom upp i min brevlåda. Eller ja till mitt utlämningsställe i alla fall.

Först ut blir det ljusaste i kollektionen. Det här är It's In The Cloud ett nästan vitt lack, men med en liten liten beige ton. I beskrivning av lacket står att det har en silverton, men det vet jag inte riktigt om jag tycker.

Jag har tre lager på bilderna. Det blev lite strimmigt först, men om jag hade tagit något tjockare lager redan på första tror jag att det räckt med två lager. Nu blev det tre och topplack på det och då ser det alldeles underbart ut.

Faktum är att just det här lacket var ett av dom som lockade mig mest i kollektionen, fråga mig inte varför, men så är det. Och jag blev inte besviken. Jag tycker verkligen det här är så fint. Fräscht är väl ordet kanske. Och bara tänk på hur mycket kul man kan använda det här som bas till!

I början av April finns den här kollektionen i butiker i Sverige.

I showed the pictures of the upcoming OPI Soft Shade Pastels collection a while ago and a few days later they appeared in my mailbox. Well at my Service Point actually..

First up is the brightest in the collection. This is It's In The Cloud an almost white polish, but with a tiny tiny beige tone. In the description of the polish it says that it has a silverton, but I don't know if I agree with that. 

I have three layers in the images. It was a little streaky first, but if I had taken a bit thicker layer on the very first, I believe that it could have been enough with two layers. Now I had to do three and topcoat on that and after that it looked wonderful.

In fact this polish was one of those that attracted me the most in the collection, don't ask me why, but that's the truth. And I was not disappointed. I really think this is so nice. Fresh I guess is the word maybe. And just think about how much fun you can use this as a base to!

This collection will be in stores in Sweden in the beginning of April.
