Nordic Cap Star Nails - NP07

Jaha, det blev visst en slö förmiddag idag igen, så skönt! Men, nu ska jag försöka ta tag i mitt liv och fixa lite hemmagjord müsli och gå ut och fota lite vårblommor till en temagrupp på Flickr tror jag. Gubben är i skogen och jobbar och sonen på sitt jobb så det är tyst och lugnt i huset just nu.

Det lack ni valde åt mig kommer från ett budget märke som man kan hitta i matbutiker här i Sverige. Jag är inte riktigt säker på om man ska kalla det för Nordic Cap eller för Star Nails, så jag skriver väl båda namnen. De här flaskorna kostar ca 20 kronor tror jag eller om det faktiskt är 10. Just det här lacket har nummer NP07 och är ett klassiskt orange krämlack. Riktigt bra att jobba med måste jag säga. Jag skulle tro att två lager och topplack är lagom, men jag har tre lager på vissa naglar på bilderna.

Det finns egentligen inte supermycket att skriva om det här lacket. Orange och härligt! Och definitivt värt att köpa.

Vi kör väl lite mer kalenderlack till nästa vecka. Min otestade sådana har sjunkit betydligt i antal.

Well, I've had a really lazy morning again, so nice! But, now I will try to get a hold of myself and make some homemade muesli and go out and take some photos of spring flowers to a theme group at Flickr I think. My husband is in the woods working and the son at his job so it's quiet and calm in the house right now.

The polish you picked for me this week comes from a budget brand that you can find in food stores here in Sweden. I'm not really sure whether to call it Nordic Cap or Star Nails, so I'm writing both names. These bottles cost about $ 2,50 I think or if it's 1,50. This one has number NP07 and is a classic orange cream polish. Really good to work with, I have to say. I would think that two layers and topcoats are good, but I have three layers on some nails on the pictures.

There is not really much to write about this polish. Orange and lovely! And very much worth the price. 

We'll have a bit more calendar polishes for next week. My untested ones have reduced considerably in numbers. 

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents - 3d Anniversary Recreation #2

Nu tycker jag det är dags att visa lite stamping som blev precis som jag tänkt mig istället för dom mer misslyckade som jag visat tidigare i veckan.

Temat i The Nail Challenge Collaborative är alltså att återskapa en tidigare manikyr och jag föll direkt för en som Stephanie på A little Polish hade gjort till ett tidigare tema som var svart/vitt. Min manikyr blir inte exakt likadan eftersom jag inte har exakt samma färger att använda mig av, men väldigt lik i alla fall. Originalet hittar ni här.

Det jag använt mig av är Star Nails vita lack som jag tyvärr inte har numret på just nu. Mönstret kommer från MoYou London Pro 06 och jag har använt mig av Mentality Glaze Red, Green och Opaque Black. Och den här typen av manikyr kallas för lead light.

Mina färger blev något starkare rosa än vad originalet är, men jag är så himla nöjd med den här manikyren och det är så kul att få visa något som blev som jag tänkt mig.

The theme of The Nail Challenge Collaborative is to recreat a past manicure and I fell for one that Stephanie at A Little Polish had made to an earlier theme that was black / white. My manicure is not exactly the same as I didn't have exactly the same colors that she used but very similar in all cases. The original can be found here.

I used Star Nails white polish which I unfortunately don't have the number on right now. The pattern comes from MoYou London Pro 06 and I am using Mentality Glaze Red, Green and Opaque Black. And this type of manicure is called leadlight manicure.

My pink color is slightly stronger pink than what the original is, but I'm so happy with this manicure and it's so fun to show you something that I'm very pleased with.

He Picks My Polish!

Det finns en ganska kul utmaning som heter He Picks My Polish som går ut på att någon manlig bekant, familjemedlem eller liknande väljer ut tre lack som du sen ska hitta på något med. Du får alltså inte lägga dig vilka det är som plockas ut.

Grabben tröttnade på att jag inte kunde välja lack igår och plockade upp tre ur lådan och jag kan väl ärligt säga att jag fick lite spunk när jag såg färgerna han valt, men visst man måste ju försöka. Han sa också till mig hur det skulle fixas nail art med dom här så det var ju bara att lyda.

Lacken han valde ut var Top Lady 08, Star Nails NP07 och Nocti Swag och han var väldigt tydlig med att det skulle bli någon typ av randig manikyr och att Top Lady skulle vara basen.

Alltså var det bara att sätta igång. Och vet ni vad, det blev ju faktiskt inte alls så tokigt som jag trodde det skulle bli. Jag målade med Top Lady först, la på topplack och lät det torka ordentligt. Tog fram Nail Vinyls och fixade chevron mönster. Det som var knepigt var att varken Star Nails eller Nocti var speciellt opakta, ganska rinniga bägge två vilket inte är någon fördel när man ska jobba på små ytor. Fick försöka trixa dit två lager.

There is a quite a fun challenge called He Picks My Polish where you should ask a male friend, family member or similar to select three polishes which you then must do something with. You are not allowed to have any opinion of his choices. 

My son once again got tired of me not being able to choose what polish to wear yesterday and picked up three out of the drawer and I can honestly say I got a little spunk when I saw the colors he chose, but sure one has to try. He also told me what kind of nail art I should do so it was just to obey.

The polishes he chose was Top Lady 08, Star Nails NP07 and Nocti Swag and he was very clear that there would be some type of striped manicure and Top Lady would be the base.

So it was just to get started. And you know what, it was actually not as crazy as I thought it would be. I painted with Top Lady first added a layer of top coat and let it dry thoroughly. Took out some chevron Nail Vinyls. The tricky part was that neither Star Nails or Nocti was especially opaque both of them where actually quite runny which is not an advantage when you are working in small spaces. I had to dab around a bit to fix two layers.

Dollish Polish - Go Luigi!

Dom här bilderna funderade jag skarpt på att inte visa alls. Anledningen till detta är baslacket som jag valde att använda mig av. Dom gånger jag använt mig av Nordic Cap star nails innan har det funkat klockrent. Jag har två flaskor med svart lack och det kan ha varit den andra flaskan jag använt vid dom tillfällena, men den här var då inte klockren.

Det sprack. Alltså betedde sig som om det var någon typ av crackle lack. Så där kul! Men ibland kan det ju faktiskt vara bra att visa manikyrer som inte gick riktigt som man tänkt sig också. Om inte annat för att någon annan stackare som råkat ut för samma ska få veta att du inte var ensam.

I alla fall så var det ju så att anledningen till att jag la på ett svart kräm lack var att jag tyckte det var dags att visa ännu ett lack från Super Mario Bros. kollektionen från Dollish Polish.

Den här gången har turen kommit till Go Luigi! Luigi tycker jag är lite mesig, så han är inte en favorit bland karaktärerna i Super Mario spelen, men lacket är då rakt inte mesigt utan mycket fint.

Basen i lacket är genomskinlig och sen består det av glitter i blått, grönt och silvriga stjärnor. Jag la två lager över det nu inte längre omtyckta svarta Nordic Cap lacket och toppade med både Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food och ett lager Seche.

Jag gillar färgkombinationen väldigt mycket och stjärnorna är en rolig detalj i det här lacket. Det enda som jag tycker är tråkigt är att det precis som med dom andra lacken i kollektionen var lite knepigt att fiska upp glittren ur flaskan.

Jo, jag kommer att måla med det här igen, men med ett annat lack som bas. Vad tror ni skulle vara snyggt att ha för färg under?

I thought of not showing you these pictures at all. The reason for that is that the polish I used as a basecolor. I have used Nordic Cap Star Nails before and it has worked perfect. I have two bottles of black polish from this brand and it might have been the other bottle I have used the other times because this one surely didn't work perfect!

It burst, you know it behaved like one of those crackle polishes. Not very fun! But sometimes it can actually be good to show manicures that did not go quite as planned as well. Why? Well it's always someone else that has the same experience and now that person doesn't have to feeel alone anymore.

In any case, the reason why I put on a black cream polish was that I thought it was time to show another polish from Super Mario Bros. collection from Dollish Polish.

This time the turn goes to Go Luigi! Luigi, I think is a bit lame, so he is not a favorite among the characters in the Super Mario games, but the polish is far from lame instead it's really nice.

The base of the polish is translucent and then it consists of glitter in blue, green and silver stars. I put two coats over it now no longer popular Nordic Cap black lacquer and topped with both Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and a coat of Seche .

I like the color combination very much and the Stars is a fun detail in this polish. The only thing I think is sad is that, as with the other polishes in the collection it was a bit tricky to fish up the glitters from the bottle.

Well, I will paint with this again, but with a different polish as a base. What do you think would be neat to have this over?

12 Days Of Christmas Nail Art Challenge - Christmas were you live

Dagens tema i 12 Days Of Christmas Nail Art Challenge är Christmas were you live. Jag började fundera på vad i hela friden man skulle kunna hitta på till det här temat. Snö, nja, fast det är ju fler och fler jular här som inte är vita. Lucia, jo, fast det är ju inte riktigt jul liksom. Då kom återigen yngste grabben till undsättning.

Vilka mer länder tittar på Kalle Anka klockan tre varje julafton? Inga vad jag vet i alla fall!

Jag hittade lite vattendekaler på Ebay som klickades hem. Av någon konstig anledning hade jag tänkt att ha röd bakgrund, det jag inte tänkte på var att stackars Kalle då skulle bli väldigt röd i nyllet, så det fick bli vitt istället.

Vad är det mest svenska ni kan tänka er när ni tänker på julen?

Todays theme is: Christmas were you live. Well, I live in the south of Sweden and the first thing that crossed my mind was snow, but to be honest it's not that many year's that the Christmas is white, so that wasn't a good idea. We do celebrate Lucia more than in most country's but that isn't Christmas. 

Then once again my youngest son came up with the idea that I went for. For in what other countries is there a strange tradition to watch Donald Duck and friends wishing us all a Merry Christmas on Christams Eve at three a clock. We have Christmas Eve as the main day for celebrating Christmas here in Sweden. 

Yes, you read it right Donald Duck, Disney, on Christmas. Mickey Mouse is the host and presents different Christmas Cards from his friends among the Disney characters. Strange? Oh, yes! But you should have heard the roar from the Swedish people a couple of years ago when the subject came up that Swedish Televison was about to loose the licence to show this. Trust me it was like the third world war!

I found some waterdecals on ebay that I thought was perfect. They were a bit hard to work with, but this is how it turned out.

Star Nails - NP12 Svart

Det har varit lite dåligt med svenska lack på bloggen ett tag så det tänkte jag ändra idag. Något som jag tycker är verkligen snyggt är ett enkelt svart krämlack och kan man då dessutom hitta ett till ett budget pris som är bra så är det ju helt kanon.

Precis ett sånt lack är det jag visar er idag. Nordic Cap of Sweden Star Nails NP12. Smidigt namn va? Dom här lacken hittar man rätt ofta i jättelådor på Citygross eller Willys för en ynka guldtia styck. Då tänker man troligen genast att vad är det här för skit då? Men där har man fel, för dom här lacken är mycket bra faktiskt.

Täcker utan problem på två lager. Inte världens kortaste torktid kanske, men inte heller något som våller ett större problem. Formulan är bra och penslen likaså. Eftersom det dessutom är så billigt så är det ju ett perfekt lack att använda som bas till nailart.

Jag kan absolut rekomendera dom här lacken. På bilderna har jag alltså två lager och ett lager Poshé över.

There has been a bit poorly with Swedish brands on the blog for a while so I thought I would change that today. Something that I think is really neat is a simple black creme and can if you also find one at a budget price that is good to work with it's totally awesome.

That is exactly that kind of polish that I'm showing you today. Nordic Cap of Sweden Star Nails NP12. Smoothly name huh? This polish can be found quite often in giant boxes at CityGross or Willys (Swedish Grocery Stores) for only 1.50 USD. Many times when you stumble upon really cheap polishes the first thought that runs through your head is that it's probably a crappy polish. But not this, no it's really good!

Covers without trouble on two layers. Not the fastest drying times maybe, but not something that pours a bigger problem. The formula is good and the brush as well. Moreover, since it is so cheap it's a perfect polish to use as a base for nail art .

I can definitely recommend these polishes. In the pictures I have two layers and a layer of Poshe.
