Golden Oldie Challenge - Brown or Copper

Det här skulle varit sista veckan på Golden Oldie Challenge, men jag bestämde mig för att förlänga den så det blir nya teman för ett par veckor framöver.

Men denna veckan handlar det om brunt eller koppar och jag valde ett helt fantastiskt lack från China Glaze.

Det här är Harvest Moon från samma kollektion som mina favoriter Agro och Riveting nämligen Hunger Games. Ett ljuvligt kopparfärgat foil lack. Det är smidigt att jobba med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Jag har en tendens att glömma bort hur vackert det här lacket är och låter det stå där i lådan och se ledset ut, mycket dumt för det här tycker i alla fall jag funkar hela året om. Det går dessutom att få tag på fortfarande, inte superenkelt kanske, men via eBay funkar det.

This would have been the last week of the Golden Oldie Challenge, but I decided to extend it so it will be new themes for a few weeks more.

But this week, it's brown or copper that's the theme and I chose a fantastic polish from China Glaze to show you.

This is Harvest Moon from the same collection that my favorites Agro and Riveting comes from namely Hunger Games. A lovely copper-colored foil polish. It's easy to work with and covers in two layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

I have a tendency to forget how beautiful this polish is and just let it stand there in the box looking sad, very foolish of me. I think this works all year round. It's also possible to still get, not super easy perhaps, but at least you can find it through eBay.

Bottle shots OPI Washington DC collection

Det trillade in ett trevligt paket med delar av OPIs höstkollektion Washington DC häromdagen.

Kollektionen består av 12 lack + 3 stycken Limited Edition lack och är inspirerad av den Amerikanska huvudstaden och det politiska spelet där. En inspiration till kollektionen är OPIs nya ambassadör Kerry Washington som jag hoppas ni har sett i den helt fantastiska serien Scandal på tv.

Den här beräknas komma ut i butiker här i Sverige i slutet av Augusti.

Hela kollektionen består av krämlack i traditionella höstfärger, inga överraskningar alls faktiskt.

Jag visar bilder på flaskorna jag själv fått och pressbilder på dom övriga i kollektionen.

Yesterday a nice package with parts of OPIs autumn collection Washington landed at my house.

The collection consists of 12 polishes + 3  limited edition polishes and is inspired by the American capital and the political game there. The inspiration for the collection also comes from OPIs new ambassador Kerry Washington, which I hope you have seen in the truly amazing TV-show Scandal.

This is expected to come out in stores here in Sweden at the end of August.

The entire collection consists of cream polish in traditional fall colors, no surprises at all.

I show pictures of the bottles I received and press pictures of the rest of the collection.

Hej hej, nu är jag här igen, det blir lite pauser så här på sommaren när familjen är samlad (och man får migrän...).

Jag är i alla fall inne i en neon period så därför visar jag er ytterligare en lysande härlighet idag.

Det här är från Glam Of  Sweden, ett märke man kan hitta i ganska många livsmedelsbutiker i Sverige för en mycket billig peng.

Lacket är underbart neon orange med en matt finish. Jag har förstärkt det matta lite med att lägga OPIs matta topplack över också för att öka hållbarheten lite.

Färgen är ju helt suverän, men formulan var inte riktigt lika kul. Som klister typ, lite seg och konstig och därmed en aning knepig att måla med. Jag har inget vitt lack under och det blir ändå en riktigt bra neoneffekt. Lacket täcker på två lager, men som sagt man får vara ganska noggrann och ta tjocka lager för att det inte ska bli ojämnt.

 

Hey!  I'm here again, I will take some breaks during summer when the family is gathered (and you get migraines ...).

Right now I'm in the mood for neons so therefore that is what I will give you again today. 

This is from Glam Of Sweden, a brand that can be found in quite a number of grocery stores in Sweden for a very cheap price.

The polish has a wonderful neon orange color with a matte finish. I have enhanced the matte effect a bit by adding OPIs matt topcoat that is mostly to increase the sustainability of the polish.

The color is quite superb, but the formula was not quite as fun. As adhesive type, a bit tough and weird and that means a little tricky to paint with. I have no white polish under and there is still a really good neon effect. The polish covers in two layers, but like I said you have to be quite careful and use thick layers for it not to be uneven.

Reader's Choice - China Glaze Red-Y To Rave

Började ni tro att det inte skulle bli något läsarnas val idag eller? Jag trodde inte heller jag skulle sätta mig och fixa med det här idag. Har umgåtts med familjen, har stora sonen hemma på besök. Men behövde ändå byta lack så då fick det bli ett inlägg också.

Förra veckan fick ni rösta på neon lack och det blev China Glaze Red-Y To Rave som vann. Det här är nog så nära rött man kan komma i ett neonlack och ändå hade jag nog förväntat mig något rödare än vad det är. Det känns helt klart mer åt korall eller orange än riktigt rött, men neon det är det klart och tydligt i alla fall.

Det var riktigt trevligt att jobba med och täcker på två lager, nu har jag ganska korta naglar så eventuellt tre lager på längre, men formulan var riktigt bra och det blev inte det minsta strimmigt. Jag har lagt det här direkt på nageln utan något vitt lack under och tycker att det funkar alldeles utmärkt.

Nej, det är inte rött, men jag gillar verkligen det här ändå. Ett riktigt härligt neonlack som man blir glad av.

Did you think that there would be no readers' choice today? I didn't think it would. I have spent time with the family my oldest son is home for a visit. But still needed to redo my nails so I could just as well write this post too.

Last week you got to vote on neon polishes and it was China Glaze Red-y To Rave that won. This is probably as close to a red you can get in a neon poish and yet I had probably expected something a little more red than this. It's clearly more to the coral or orange than true red, but it's clearly a neon in all cases.

It was really nice to work with and covers in two layers, I have quite short nails so possibly three layers on longer, but the formula was really good and there was not the slightest streakiness. I have put this right on the nail without any white polish under and I think it works just fine.

No, it is not red, but I really like it anyway. A really lovely neon polish that makes you happy.

For the next week there will be various shades of blue that you can vote for.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Black

Denna veckan är färgen i vårt Golden Oldie Challenge svart. Jag har flera svarta lack jag kunde ha använt mig av, men eftersom jag inte kom mig för att måla förrän på torsdagen så passade det ju med ett holo så att jag även kan vara med på Sminkans holofredag.

Och det här är verkligen ett Golden Oldie lack. A-England Bridal Veil visade jag första gången i Juni 2012 och det här var mitt första svarta holo.

Precis som med övriga A-England så är det inga starka regnbågar, men tillräckligt mycket holo för att ge lacket ett fint djup. På bilderna har jag ett lager av Bridal Veil och topplack över.

Om man gillar svarta lack, men ändå vill ha något lite extra så är det här ett perfekt lack. När det dessutom täcker på ett lager så kan det ju inte bli så mycket bättre. Det var riktigt kul att plocka fram det här ur gömmorna måste jag säga.

 

This week the color in our Golden Oldie Challenge is black. I have several black polishes I could have used for this, but because I didn't get myself to paint for this Thursday I decided to combine this challenge with Sminkans holofriday

And this is truly a Golden Oldie polish. I showed A-England Bridal Veil for the first time in June 2012 and this was my first black holo.

As with other A-England polishes it doesn't have strong rainbows, but enough holo to give the polish a nice depth. In the pictures, I have one coat of Bridal Veil and topcoat over.

If you like black polishes, but still want something a little extra, this is a perfect polish. Black, holo and a onecoater. Can it get much better? It was really fun to pick this up from the oldies in my drawer I must say.
