Stamping with Mentality Grey Opaque

I fredags visade jag OPI Cement The Deal och om ni trodde att jag skulle kunna låta bli att göra stämpling på ett krämlack så trodde ni fel.

Självklart lockade det mig att lägga på något mönster på det här lacket och valet föll på ett från Born Pretty Store 19. Ni vet ju redan att jag gillar ton i ton manikyrer så jag plockade fram mitt nya Mentality Grey Opaque.

Jag tycker det här blev väldigt fint måste jag säga.

The other day I showed OPI Cement The Deal and if you thought I could resist to put some kind of stamping on top of a cream polish you where wrong.

Well I coudln't help but to feel that it needed some kind of pattern and my choice fell on one from Born Pretty Store plate 19. I guess you already know that I'm a big fan of tone on tone manicures so I picked up my new Mentality Grey Opaque for this.

And I must say that I think this turned out really stylish.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Animals - Flamingos

Då var det dags för sista posten i månadens tema djur. För ett tag sedan fick jag hem en ny MoYou London platta med olika fågelbilder på och bland dom fanns det en med massa Flamingos.

Vad kunde då bli bättre än att testa den bilden tillsammans med ett av mina nya Mentality Opaque lack.

Jag grundade med Rainbow Honey Nyx och har sedan stämplat Flamingos från MoYou London Tropical 06 med hjälp av Mentality Pink Opaque.

Som ni ser så täcker Pink Opaque väldigt bra och ger en snygg lite skimrande effekt. Jag gillar hur den här manikyren blev och tycker att det är en rätt kul en faktiskt.

It's time for the last entry in this month's animal theme.

A while ago I got myself a new  MoYou London plate with different pictures of birds and among them there were one with a lot of Flamingos.

So what could be better than to try that image out with one of my new Mentality Opaque polishes.

I have the black Rainbow Honey Nyx as the base and the Flamingos from MoYou London Tropical 06 plate using Mentality Pink Opaque.

As you can see Pink Opaque covers very well and gives a neat little shimmering effect. I like how this manicure turned out and think it's a pretty fun one indeed.

Mentality - Instigate

I beskrivningen av det här lacket står att det ska vara ett gult holografiskt jellychrome med glassfleck som dessutom ska skifta blå/lila, röd/orange, gul.

Låter lite mycket att leva upp till tycker nog jag faktiskt och riktigt så bra känns det inte heller. Men visst finns det skiftningar, dom var inte lätta att få på bild dock. Jag tycker att lacket mer känns lila/blått än gult i de flesta ljus, så visst det skiftar. Holografiskt, jo det finns det också och Mentality har sällan starka holon, inte heller detta, men visst finns effekten. Vad exakt som ska menas med Jellychrome vet jag inte så det kan jag inte svara på om det är eller inte. Men glassflecks det är det absolut i det.

Det är ingen större hemlighet att jag älskar Mentality lack och det här är också ett fint lack, men på egen hand gjorde det tyvärr inget större intryck på mig.

Eftersom det dessutom står i beskrivningen att det funkar lika bra på egen hand som till nail art och stamping så testade jag även det som layering och till stamping.

Jag tyckte att det var för tjockt för layering, men till stamping. Jo, men sörru nu snackar vi igen! Jag gjorde i och för sig bara en ganska slarvig stamping, men bjuder på den ändå. Layeringen hoppar vi över för den var inte vacker.

Som sagt jag blev inte förälskad, men jag är säker på att det finns dom som blir det och egenskaperna på lacket är helt underbara. Högst två lager för täckning, kanske till och med bara ett om man har riktigt korta naglar. Torktiden helt ok och så Digital Flash på det hela.

Är ni sugna på detta eller andra Mentality lack så finns dom till bra priser hos Edgy Polish.

 

Sent out for review

In the description of this polish it says that it should be a yellow holographic jellychrome with glass fleck that also shift between violet-blue, violet, red to orange-yellow.

Sounds a bit much to live up to in my mind and to be honest I don't think it really does. There is certinaly shifts between colors, but not that would like to be shown in pictures and I do feel that the polish looks more purple / blue than yellow in most lights. But it does shift. What about holographic then? Yes it is a holo effect, not strong but it's there and normally there isn't really that strong holographic effects in Mentality polishes but it's there for sure. What exactly is a Jelly Chrome? Well I'm not to sure about that so I can't say if it is one but I guess so. One thing I do know is that is has glassflecks in it.

It's no secret that I love Mentality polishes and this is also a nice color, but it didn't speak to me on it's own.

The description also says that it works equally well on its own as to nail art and stamping so I couldn't resist trying some more.

It was not optinal for layering. To thick and covered to well, but the stamping. Yes, now we're talking! I'm sorry for a kind of sloppy stamping, but I offer you a picture anyway. Skip the layering use it for stamping and other kinds of nail art because that way it's a fabulouis polish.

As I said I was not in love with this, but I'm sure there are those who will be and as usuall Mentality is a dream to work with.  A maximum of two layers for coverage, maybe even just one if you have really short nails. The drying time is quite ok and I have a layer of Digital Flash on top.

Second Haul of 2015!

Idag har jag i alla fall orkat vara uppe ur sängen en stund och passade på att fota mina fina nykomlingar.

Själv fick jag nästan lite ångest när jag insåg hur många lack som redan trillat in, men kom sen att tänka på att enbart sju av dom jag visar bilder på idag kommer att skrivas in i min stashlist. Resten är köpte enbart som stampinglack. Ok, helt galet det också, men så är det.

At least I'm out of bed for a moment and managed to take some photos of some new polishes that arrived this and last week. 

I almost got som bad conscience seeing how many bottles I've already bought this year, but then I reminded myself of the fact that only seven of these polishes will be written in to my stashlist since the rest has been bought only to use for stamping. Ok, I know that is kind of crazy as well, but that is the way it is!

Green on Green!

Japp, vi kör en favorit i repris.. Eller nästan i alla fall. Lite mer ton i ton stämpling är väl inte fel. Igår vad det Orly Enchanted Forest som visades och idag har jag prytt detta med stämpling.

Mönstret kommer från MoYou London Back To The 80s 02 och jag har stämplat det med hjälp av Mentality Green Opaque. Ett lager topplack också.

Finns inte så mycket att säga egentligen om manikyren, mer än att jag är löjligt nöjd med den.

Yes, I have another tone on tone manicure for you today. Yesterday I showed you Orly Enchanted Forest and today i have decorated that with som stamping.

The pattern comes from MoYou London Back To The 80s 02 and the color I have used is Mentality Green Opaque. I have a layer of topcoat on as well.

There is really not that much to say about this manicure, more than I really love how this turned out.

Blue on Blue!

Jag älskar ton i ton stämplingar! Och jag älskar Mentalitys Opaque stamping lack. Blev så glad när jag såg att Katarina skrivit att hon kommer ta hem dom till Edgy Polish.

Den här manikyren är ju givetvis en liten uppfräschning av lacket jag visade igår Kiko 335. Otestat högen krymper inte så fort på det här viset, men jag har riktigt kul under tiden i alla fall. För stämpling är roligt, riktigt roligt.

Som sagt Kiko 335, Mentality Blue Opaque och mönster från MoYou London Kaleidoscope 10 och så Digital Flash på toppen.

I love tone on tone stamping! And I love Mentalitys Opaque stamping polishes. I got so happy when I saw that Katarina had wrote that they will be available at Edgy Polish.

This manicure're obviously is a little make over of the polish I showed yesterday Kiko 335. This doesn't make my untested pile shrink very fast, but I'm having so much fun anyway. For stamping is fun, really fun.

That said Kiko 335 is the base, Mentality Blue Opaque and pattern from MoYou London Kaleidoscope 10 and Digital Flash on top.

I am soo pleased with this!

Tropical Neve!

Jag fortsätter att piffa upp redan ditmålade manikyrer. Idag så är det Zoya Neve som fått sig lite stamping med hjälp av Mentality Orange Opaque och ett mönster från MoYou London Tropical Collection 02.

Jag är kanske inte helt nöjd med den här manikyren, men den får duga tills ikväll i alla fall. Den kändes helt enkelt inte speciellt mycket som jag.

 

I continue with doing make overs to already existing manicures. Today it's Zoya Neve who has gotten some stamping on top with the help of Mentality Orange Opaque and a pattern from MoYou London Tropcial Collection 02.

I'm not that pleased with this manicure but it will have to do until tonight. I think the problem is that I didn't feel it was really me. 

Beautiful Stamping!

Lite självgod titel kanske, men den kommer sig av att jag gjorde stamping över Parrot Polish Beautiful och även av att den faktiskt blev riktigt snygg även om den är väldigt diskret utan lampljus på.

Som sagt basen är Parrot Polish Beautiful, mönstret kommer från Pueen Encore SE04B och färgen som jag stämplat med är Mentality Eeny.

Själv är jag väldigt nöjd med resultatet. Och tror minsann jag har kommit in ett Stamping Mood för tillfället.

 

That title sound like some bragging.. But it comes from the fact that I have made some stamping over Parrot Polish Beautiful and well it did turn out really nice as well even if it's really discrete without a lamp shining on the nails. 

As I said the base is Parrot Polish Beautiful. The pattern comes from Pueen Encore SE04B and I have stamped it with Mentality Eeny.

I'm really pleased with this result and I do think I'm in some kind of stamping mood right now. 

Nail Art Sunday - Nytt År (New Year)

Vilket underbart väder den här första söndagen på nya året bjuder på. Blir nog till att ta kameran med sig ut lite senare. Och övriga familjen funderar på att åka och slå lite golfbollar!

Ämnet för denna Nail Art Sunday är Nytt år. Som jag faktiskt har längtat efter att 2014 skulle ta slut och 2015 ta över. Ni som följt mig lite längre vet att vi har haft ett jobbigt år i vår familj med allvarliga sjukdomar med mycket besök på sjukhus. Men även en hel del ljusglimtar som att andra sonen kom in på Universitetet och trivs bra där.

I vilket fall som helst så vill jag att dagens manikyr ska symbolisera mina förhoppningar på det här året. Ett år som jag hoppas att istället för som förra året höll sig till gråskalan ska spraka av färger precis som ett kalejdoskop.

Jag la Zoya Purity som bas,  använde min alldeles nya Kaleidoscope 02 platta från MoYou London till de olika mönstren som stämplades med Zoya Raven. Och så gjorde jag en lead light manicure av det hela med hjälp av Mentalitys Glazes.

What a wonderful weather this first Sunday of the new year offers. I think I will take my camera our for a walk later on. And the rest of the family are planning to go to the golf course. Not a normal thing to do in the south of Sweden in December!

The theme of this Nail Art Sunday is New Year. I have longed for 2014 to end and 2015 to take over. Those of you who followed me a little longer know we've had a tough year in our family with serious diseases with lots and lots of visits to hospitals. But also good things such as our eldelst son starting his education to become a speech therapist and is really enjoying living on his own in a new city.

In any case, I want today's manicure to symbolize my hopes for this year. A year I hope that instead of last year that was very much stuck to the gray scale should crackle of colors just like a kaleidoscope.

I used Zoya Purity as the base, using my brand new Kaleidoscope 02 plate from MoYou London to do the different patterns stamped with Zoya Raven. And I made a leadlight manicure of it all with the help of Mentalitys glazes.

Mentality - Royalty

Idag är jag sur och tjurig då jag måste fasta inför en undersökning i eftermiddag, men på naglarna har jag i alla fall något som jag kan njuta av.

Det här är Mentality Royalty ett vackert mörkt lila matt lack. Enkelt att jobba med och skulle nog kunna täcka på ett lager, men jag har två för säkerhets skull. Eftersom lacket är tänkt att vara matt har jag förstås inget topplack vilket gör att man får vara försiktig lite längre än  om man har snabbtorkande topplack på. Torktiden är helt ok, men det blir ju ändå lite känsligare än vanligt. T.ex var det inte smart att sätta sig att spela kort och blanda kortlek precis efter jag målat på det här...

Jag gillar det här väldigt mycket. Älskar sammetskänslan i lacket, men är samtidigt nyfiken på att lägga på lite topplack. Kanske med lite nailvinlys också.

Today I am angry and grumpy because I'm not allowed to eat until later today because of a medical examination  that I have to do. At least I have something beautiful on my nails to lay my eyes on.

This is Mentality Royalty a beautiful dark purple matte polish. Easy to work with and would probably be able to cover in one layer, but I have two just in case. Since the polish is supposed to be matte I didn't put topcoat on which means that you must be careful a little longer than if you have a fast drying top coat on. The drying time is quite ok, but it is anyway a little more sensitive than usual. For example, it was not smart to play cards and shuffle deck just after I painted with this ...

I like this very much. Love the velvety feel of polish, but is curious to add some topcoat. Maybe with a little nailvinlys too.

Mentality - Lisa

Idag visar jag ett lack som jag fick som bonus i en beställning från Mentality. När jag såg själva flaskan såg det inte så mycket ut, men  väl på nageln var det ju riktigt trevligt.

Mentality Lisa är fullspäckat av glitter med lite svagt holo och nästan lite duokrom effekt också. Det är ljust lila med dragning åt rosa och grått.

Lite väl tjockt kanske, men det går ju att tunna ut om man så önska. Täcker utan problem med två lager. Jag har topplack på också.

Today I show a polish that I received as a bonus in an order from Mentality. When I saw the bottle, it did not look like much, but once on the nail, it was actually rather nice.

Mentality Lisa is packed with glitter, a bit of holo and almost a little duochrome effect as well. It's a soft purple color with a hint of pink and grey.

A bit too thick maybe, but that can be thin out if you wish. Covers flawlessly in two layers. I have topcoat on too.

United In Pink & Reader's Choice - Mentality Sly

Näe mamma det där var det lamaste, fulaste jag sett på länge. Rikitgt fult faktiskt! Jaha, tack för den älskade unge. Här tycker man att man gjort en riktigt häftig manikyr som man själv är sjukt nöjd med. Ska bara visa den för yngste avkomman som då brister ut i ovanstående!

Förra veckan röstade ni med ganska stor övertygelse fram Mentality Sly som vinnare av omröstningen. Sly har jag tidigare visat både på egen hand och som stamping lack och tanken var faktiskt att göra en stamping med det över vitt, men i sista sekund blev jag sugen på att istället använda mig av mina Nail Vinyls och göra något helt annat. 

Jag gjorde alltså som så att jag grundade med Barielle Enduring topplack på det som fick torka riktigt ordentligt, satte på vinyls och la sen ett lager av Mentality Sly över. Tog bort mallarna innan lacket hade torkat och voila färdig! Eller nej, för jag har topplack över alltihopa också. 

Sly är ett skarpt rosa lack med mycket lilaktigt skimmer i och lite holo också faktiskt. Jag gillar det riktigt mycket. Både färgen och det faktum att det är väldigt trevligt att jobba med. 

Hoppas att ni gillar manikyren något bättre än vad min son gjorde denna näst sista dag av United In Pink. 

Glöm inte att rösta på lack till nästa vecka. Och nej han har inte fått välja utan min jobbarkompis fick agera slumpgenerator. 

Nooo mom that was the lamest, ugliest I've seen in a long time. Actually really ugly! Well, thanks for those kind word my beloved kid. I was so satisfied with my manicure and thought it turned out very cool I just wanted to show my youngest offspring which then bursts out the above words! 

Last week, you voted Mentality Sly as the winner of the poll. I have previously shown Sly both on it's own and as stamping polish and the idea was actually to make a stamping manicure with it over white, but at the last second I was tempted to instead use my Nail Vinyls and do something completely different. 

I put Barielle Enduring as the base applied a layer of topcoat and let it dry completely before I put on vinyls and a layer of  Mentality Sly over. Removed the vinlys before the polish had dried and voila done! Or no, because I have a layer of topcoat over the whole thing too. 

Sly is a bright pink polish with very much shimmer lening towards purple in it and a little holo too actually. I like it a lot. Both the color and the fact that it is very nice to work with. 

Hope you like the manicure a bit better than what my son did this penultimate day of United In Pink.

Purple Flowers

Ett av mina favoritlack när det gäller krämlack är det mörkt lila Honk If You Love OPI eller Auberginfärgat kanske man ska säga och när jag såg att OPI hade en tävling där man skulle visa lila manikyrer kunde jag ju inte låta bli att plocka fram det och fixa till en lila accentnagel för att piffa upp det hela.

HIYLO är krämlack när det är som bäst. Mycket lätt att applicera. Man behöver inte mer än två lager för täckning och det torkar bra. Ja, och så är ju färgen väldigt fin och det känns perfekt nu till hösten.

Accentnageln är gjord med hjälp av en vit bas bestående av Zoya Purity ett mönster från Infinyt Nails stamping platta 42 och färgerna är Mentality Purple, Red-Purple & Green från deras Glass art collection. Över alltihipa har jag Insta-Dri.

Det är verkligen kanonkul att göra den här typen av accentnaglar tycker jag. Dessutom blir det ju riktigt fint.

One of my favorite polish when it comes to cream polish is the dark purple Honk If You Love OPI or maybe I should say Aubergine colored and when I saw that OPI had a contest where you should do purple manicures, I definitly felt like doing something with this polish and a purple accent nail to spruce up the whole thing. 

HIYLO is cremes at it's best. Very easy to apply. One does not need more than two coats for coverage and it dries well. Yes, and then of course the color is very nice and it feels perfect now for the fall. 

The Accent nail is made using a white base consisting of Zoya Purity a pattern from Infinyt Nail stamping plate 42 and the colors are Mentality Purple, Red-Purple & Green from their Glass Art collection. And to finish it all a layer of Insta-Dri. 

It really is a blast to do this type of accent nails I think. Moreover, it is of course quite nicely looking. 

Nailart Sunday - Skittlette

Idag har varit en lugn och skön dag. Först en vända till Väckelsång för att se en massa galna människor springa och sen lite swatchning och sent omsider har jag nu börjat titta på True Blood.

Dagens tema för Lelacks Nailart Sunday är Skittlette och det är ju en sån där nailart som går att variera i all oändlighet. Först var jag helt säker på att jag vill ha svart och rött, men så blev det inte utan det blev svart och blått istället. Är väl inte helt supernöjd, men det får duga.

Det jag har använt mig av är: Zoya Song, Rainbow Honey Nyx, Jade Magia, Mentality Blue Opaque och mönster från MoYou London Bridal 06 platta.

Today has been a lazy day. Me and the hubby went to the nearest community where they today had a running contest and then I have done some swatching and finally started to watch True Blood.

Todays theme for Lelacks Nailart Sunday is Skittlette and is a type of nailart that can be combined in a million ways. I was so sure that I wanted to do a red/black version but still ended up with a blue/black one. I'm not totally happy with this manicure but it will have to do. 

What I have used is: Zoya Song, Rainbow Honey Nyx, Jade Magia, Mentality Blue Opaque and patter from MoYou London Bridal 06 plate.
