Golden Oldie Challenge - Multichrome

Det här är faktiskt näst sista veckan i den här utmaningen om jag nu inte bestämmer mig för att utöka ytterligare förstås. Denna veckan är det multichrome som gäller och jag tänker visa det lacket som jag tror var mitt allra första i kategorin.

Orly Royal Velvet. Jag kommer fortfarande ihåg hur fint jag tyckte det var första gången, men även hur skirt det var och hur svårt det var att fota.

Det har nog tjocknat till sig lite under åren, men tre lager behövs för täckning. Inget helt ovanligt gällande multichroma lack så det är inte något konstigt i sig. Torktiden var bra och på bilderna har jag topplack på.

Det här skiftar mellan lila och blått och har ganska tydliga skiftningar. Nu finns det massor av liknande lack, men det här kom ut 2011 och då var det desto mindre vanligt. Och även om det inte längre är unikt så gillar jag det skarpt.

We only have two weeks left of this challenge if I don't decide to extend it further, of course. This week it's multi-chrome that is our theme and I intend to show you the polish that I think was my very first in this category.

Orly Royal Velvet. I still remember how cool I thought it was the first time I used it, but also how sheer it was and how difficult it was to take pictures of.

It has gone a bit more thick since I used it the last time. I know I needed at least four coats then but only three now. Nothing unusual for a multichrome polish so it's not something strange in itself. The drying time was good and in the pictures I have topcoat on.

This is shifting between purple and blue and has fairly clear shifts. There are lots of similar color on the market now, but this came out in 2011 and then it was much less common. And even if it's no longer unique, I still like it a lot.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Teal

Idag har jag verkligen plockat fram en godbit åt er. Ett lack från en av de absolut bästa kollektionerna jag vet.

Kollektionen heter 3D Effects och är från L.A Girl och eftersom temat denna veckan är teal blir det förstås Teal Dimension. Flera av dom här lacken fick senare dupes från Zoya. Nä, det var inte L.A Girl som kopierade utan faktiskt tvärtom vilket jag tycker är kul med tanke på att L.A Girl är ett rätt litet märke jämfört med Zoya.

Teal Dimension är ett lack med en tealfärgad bas och massor av prismatiskt glitter i. Det står på flaskorna ätt dom är holografiska, men det är väl kanske att ta i lite. I vilket fall som helst är det här lacket underbart att jobba med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag som vanligt topplack på.

Jag älskar det här lacket. Både färg och finish är helt underbara och jag kommer gråta den dagen min flaska tar slut. För så lätta att få tag i är tyvärr inte dom här längre.

Today I have really picked up a golden oldie for you. A polish from one of the absolute best collections I know of.

The collection is called 3D Effects, and is from L.A. Girl and since the theme this week is teal it will be Teal Dimension that I will show you. Zoya actually made dupes of several from this collection a while after this came out. No, it was not L.A. girl who copied Zoya but actually the other way around, which I think is fun considering that L. A Girl is a fairly small brand compared with Zoya.

Teal Dimension is a polish with a teal colored base and lots of prismatic glitter. It stands on the bottles that they are holographic, but I wouldn't really call them that. In any way this polish is wonderful to work with and covers in two layers. In the pictures I have as usual topcoat on.

I love this polish. Both the color and finish is absolutely gorgeous and I will cry the day my bottle runs out. Because they are not so easy to get hold of anymore, unfortunately.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Glitter

Då var det dags att visa glitter och jag tog fram ett som jag helt klart inte använt på länge för när jag skruvade av korken insåg jag att det skulle behövas tinner, mycket tinner innan jag kunde måla med det här.

Lacket är Dollish Polish It's A Me Mario ett glitterlack med klar bas, röda och blåa hexagoner i olika storlekar och silvriga stjärnor.

Jag valde att göra som förra gången och lägga det över Essie Aruba Blue och är riktigt nöjd med hur det blev.

Även efter uttunningen var det rätt tjockt vill jag lova så det räckte absolut med ett lager glitter över den blåa basen. På bilderna har jag topplack också.

Lekfullt är väl ett rätt bra ord för att beskriva både lacket och manikyren. Älskar färgerna i detta och gillar hur det ser ut på naglarna.

So it's time to show some glitter and I came up with one that I clearly have not used in a long time because when I unscrewed the cap, I realized that it would require thinner, much thinner before I could paint with this.

The polish is Dollish Polish It's A Me Mario glitter polish with clear base, red and blue hexagons in different sizes and silvery stars.

I chose to do like the last time I used this and layered it over Essie Aruba Blue and are really pleased with how it turned out.

Even after the thinning this was really thick, I certainly was enough with one layer of glitter over the blue base. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

Playfully is a pretty good word to describe both the polish and manicure. I love the colors in this and like how it looks on my nails.

Golden Oldie Challenge - White

Nu blev det visst en liten bloggpaus igen, men nu har jag ny dator som förhoppningsvis gör att det går lite lättare och fortare att kunna redigera bilder. Däremot kan jag inte lova helt säkert att det inte blir mer små pauser, Det där med semester kan göra mycket konstigt med ens rutiner!

Men, den här veckan är det i alla fall dags för att visa vita lack i vårt Golden Oldie Challenge och jag har plockat fram mitt absoluta favoritlack av mina vita. Det jag använder så fort jag behöver vitt till nail art eller som bas till neoner eller andra lack.

Zoya Purity är ett vitt krämlack som går att få täckande på ett lager om man tar något tjockare, men jag har två lager och topplack på bilderna.

Jag har börjat gilla vita naglar mer och mer och det här lacket är riktigt bra att jobba med så det är och förblir nog ett tag min vita favorit.

Well it became a bit of a blog break again, but now I have a new computer that will hopefully make it work a little easier and faster to edit images. However, I can not promise for sure that there wont be any more breaks, Vacation does funny things with your routines!

However, this week it's time to show white polishes in our Golden Oldie Challenge and I have picked up my absolute favorite of my whites. The one I use whenever I need a white to nail art or as a base to neons or other polishes.

Zoya Purity is a white cream polish which is possible to get opaque in just one layer if you use a thicker one, but I have two layers and top coat on in the pictures.

I've started to like white nails more and more and this polish is really great to work with so I think it will remain my favorite for a while.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Holo

Jaha, det blev en något lite längre bloggpaus än vad jag tänkt. Datastrul och fixande med semesterbilder från vår Londonsemester tog tid. Dessutom har jag varit iväg på fotomaraton. Grymt roligt!

Det här inlägget skulle egentligen kommit upp i fredags så jag kunde varit med på holofredagen också, men som sagt man hinner inte allt när man har kul med andra saker så istället blir det idag så det i alla fall hinner vara med på vårt holotema i Golden Oldie Challenge.

För det är är verkligen en Golden Oldie. Ett lack som jag vet att många sucktade efter när det kommit ut och från ett märke som fortfarande står högt i kurs hos många av oss lacktokingar.

Enchanted Polish Gummy Worm är det jag tänker visa. Jag tror att det här kom ut någon gång under 2012 och själv har jag en flaska som är något kletig då jag fick den via en så kallad scratch & dent påse från Llarowe. Dvs man kunde köpa en hemlig påse med lack där dom kanske fått nerfläckade etiketter eller något annat skönhetsfel.

Det här är ett ljusgrönt holo som täcker på två lager och torkar superfort. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Visst är det en härlig färg, men så här fyra år senare tycker jag inte längre att det är ett unikt lack, finns en hel del liknande bland alla Indiemärken. Men visst det är fint och jag gillar det mycket.

Well, it became a slightly longer blog break than I intended. My computer has been stupid and working on my vacation photos from our London trip has taken it's time. And I have also been away on a photo marathon. Awesome fun!

This post was supposed to come up on Friday so I could have included it in the holofriday too, but as I said you don't always have time for everything, but at least I have had fun with other things, so instead it will be today, in any case it will still be posted on time to be included in our holotheme in the Golden Oldie Challenge.

For it's truly a Golden Oldie. A polish that I know many wanted to get their hands on when it came out and it's from a brand that still has a big place in many of us polishnerds heart and collections.

Enchanted Polish Gummy Worm is the polish that I will show you. I think this came out sometime in 2012 and my bottle has a smudgy label since I got it through a so called scratch & dent bag from Llarowe. That' when you buy a secret bag of polishes that can have some beauty spot like smudged label or some other blemish.

This is a light green holo that covers in two coats and dries super fast. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

It sure is a lovely color, but now four years later I no longer think that it's a unique polish, there is a lot of similar among all Indie Brands. But of course it's nice and I like it a lot.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Holo

Veckans tema är holo och det fanns det ju en del att välja av, men min tanke med den här utmaningen är ju att försöka använda dom där lacken som stått oanvända längst och när jag kollade under fliken holo på bloggen så letade jag upp ett av de första hololacken jag visade här.

Det var i April 2012 som Color Club Wild At Heart fick äran att visas här första gången, nu en sisådär fyra år senare är det dags igen.

Det här är ett mörkt lila lack som inte har en superstark holo precis, men en fin en ändå tycker jag. Det är bra att jobba med och två lager räcker. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Wild At heart släpptes redan 2009 av Color Club vilket får mig att känna att dom var rätt tidigt ute med holo bland mainstream märkena. Visst China Glaze hade ju släppt kollektioner, men så vanligt var det ändå inte med holo vid den här tidpunkten. Jag kan också tycka att det här har blivit lite bortglömt. Nä, om man kollar på uppsjön av holos som finns nu är det inte ett dugg unikt, men då borde det fått mer uppmärksamhet kan man tycka.

Jag tycker i alla fall att det är väl värt att bära igen, snygg färg, holo är alltid kul oavsett styrkan på det och ett lack som fortfarande går att få tag på till vettiga priser.

 

This week's theme is holo and there was a lot of polishes to choose from, but my thought with this challenge is of course to try to use those that was the longest time since I wore last and when I checked under the tab holo at the blog I found one of the first holo I showed here.

It was in April 2012 and it's Color Club Wild At Heart that was honored to appear here for the first time, now about four years later it's time again.

This is a dark purple polish that doesn't have a super strong holo, but a nice one anyway I think. It's good to work with and two layers is enough. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

Wild at Heart was released back in 2009 by Color Club, which makes me feel that they were pretty early with an holo among mainstream brands. Certainly China Glaze had released their OMG collection, but it wasn't that usual with holos at this time. I also think that this has become a bit forgotten. No, if you look at the magnitude of Holos available now, it's not at all unique, but back then I think it should have been given more attention.

I think in any case that it's well worth to wear again, great color, holo is always fun no matter the strength of it and a polish that is still possible to get at sensible prices.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Gold or Silver

Denna veckan är det guld och silver som gäller i vårat Golden Oldie Challenge och jag har plockat fram mitt absoluta favoritlack när det kommer till guldlack.

Zoya Ziv är nog det första guldlacket som jag verkligen trivdes i och fortfarande trivs lika bra i. Kanske för att det inte är så där rödguldsaktigt utan mer åt det bruna lite lugna hållet.

Ännu ett Zoya lack som är hur smidigt som helst att lacka med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Jag tycker väldigt mycket om det här lacket både att bära på egen hand och som bas till nail arts eller som accentnagel till något annat. Gillar man guldlack så är det här nästan ett måste i samlingen.

Zoya Ziv is probably the first gold polish that I really liked wearing and still thrives equally well in. Maybe because it's not like that really shine redgoldish, but more brownish calmer gold color. 

This is another Zoya polish that is really easy to apply and covers in two coats. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

I really like this polish both wear on it's own and as a base to nail arts or as accent nail with another polish. If you like gold polishes this is almost a must in your collection.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Neon

Hoppas ni har solglasögonen på för idag blir det neon så det heter duga.

Jag tror att det här kan vara ett av de allra första "riktiga" neonerna jag visade här på bloggen och tyvärr tror jag inte det blivit använt sen den gången för en sisådär 3 år sedan.

Det här är China Glaze Purple Panic som i den versionen jag har är mer rosa än lila, men helt galet rolig färg. Och det finns vissa lila flashar i det faktiskt.

Man behöver inte ha något vitt lack under. Jag har två lager som täcker bra och för att vara ett neon är det väldigt trevlig formula. Det här torkar, precis som en äkta neon ska, matt och jag la faktiskt på glansigt topplack först, men ångrade mig och körde på ett lager med matt istället.

Det här är självlysande och jag älskar verkligen hur det ser ut i matt version. Även om det lilla väldigt diskreta lila skimret syns mer när det är glansigt.

I think this may be one of the very first "real neon"I showed here on the blog, and unfortunately I do not think it has been used since that time for I guess 3 years ago or something like that. 

This is China Glaze Purple Panic and in the version I have it's more pink than purple, but a crazy fun color. And there are some purple flashes in it actually.

You don' need to have a white polish as a base for this. I have two layers that covers really well and to be a neon it has a very nice formula. This dry, just like a real neon should, matte and I actually added glossy topcoat first, but changed my mind and took a layer of matte instead.

This is luminous and I really love how it looks in matte version. Although the small but very discreet purple shimmer is more visible when it's glossy.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Brown or Copper

Det här skulle varit sista veckan på Golden Oldie Challenge, men jag bestämde mig för att förlänga den så det blir nya teman för ett par veckor framöver.

Men denna veckan handlar det om brunt eller koppar och jag valde ett helt fantastiskt lack från China Glaze.

Det här är Harvest Moon från samma kollektion som mina favoriter Agro och Riveting nämligen Hunger Games. Ett ljuvligt kopparfärgat foil lack. Det är smidigt att jobba med och täcker på två lager. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Jag har en tendens att glömma bort hur vackert det här lacket är och låter det stå där i lådan och se ledset ut, mycket dumt för det här tycker i alla fall jag funkar hela året om. Det går dessutom att få tag på fortfarande, inte superenkelt kanske, men via eBay funkar det.

This is Harvest Moon from the same collection that my favorites Agro and Riveting comes from namely Hunger Games. A lovely copper-colored foil polish. It's easy to work with and covers in two layers. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

I have a tendency to forget how beautiful this polish is and just let it stand there in the box looking sad, very foolish of me. I think this works all year round. It's also possible to still get, not super easy perhaps, but at least you can find it through eBay.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Black

Denna veckan är färgen i vårt Golden Oldie Challenge svart. Jag har flera svarta lack jag kunde ha använt mig av, men eftersom jag inte kom mig för att måla förrän på torsdagen så passade det ju med ett holo så att jag även kan vara med på Sminkans holofredag.

Och det här är verkligen ett Golden Oldie lack. A-England Bridal Veil visade jag första gången i Juni 2012 och det här var mitt första svarta holo.

Precis som med övriga A-England så är det inga starka regnbågar, men tillräckligt mycket holo för att ge lacket ett fint djup. På bilderna har jag ett lager av Bridal Veil och topplack över.

Om man gillar svarta lack, men ändå vill ha något lite extra så är det här ett perfekt lack. När det dessutom täcker på ett lager så kan det ju inte bli så mycket bättre. Det var riktigt kul att plocka fram det här ur gömmorna måste jag säga.

 

This week the color in our Golden Oldie Challenge is black. I have several black polishes I could have used for this, but because I didn't get myself to paint for this Thursday I decided to combine this challenge with Sminkans holofriday

And this is truly a Golden Oldie polish. I showed A-England Bridal Veil for the first time in June 2012 and this was my first black holo.

As with other A-England polishes it doesn't have strong rainbows, but enough holo to give the polish a nice depth. In the pictures, I have one coat of Bridal Veil and topcoat over.

If you like black polishes, but still want something a little extra, this is a perfect polish. Black, holo and a onecoater. Can it get much better? It was really fun to pick this up from the oldies in my drawer I must say.

Golden Oldie Challenge - Yellow or Peach

Då var det dags att visa gula lack i vår Golden Oldie Challenge. När jag kollade igenom min låda med gula lack (som inte är särskilt omfattande) insåg jag att alla lack jag har är sådana som inte precis går att få tag på. I alla fall inte på ett helt enkelt sätt.

Jag valde till slut att visa OPI Fiercely Fiona från den ganska omtalade Shrek kollektionen som kom ut våren 2010. Själv har jag två lack från den varav detta är det ena. Det här går faktiskt att få tag på via eBay och Amazon så det är inte helt kört om man är sugen på en flaska.

Vad jag förstår så var det här lacket lite ovanligt när det kom ut. Ett gult krämlack som är lite dammigt i färgen. Nu skulle jag vilja påstå att det finns en hel del liknande att få tag på. Men det är fortfarande ett väldigt fint gult lack tycker jag. Det kan också vara så att min flaska har ändrat sig lite i färgen och bleknat för jag har sett bilder där det här lacket drar mycket mer mot grönt än vad mitt gör.

Formulan är vad man kan förvänta sig av ett gult lack. Något strimmig och lite bråkig att jobba med. Tre lager och topplack behövs för att få det snyggt.

Även om färgen kanske inte längre är unik, så gillar jag den väldigt mycket och den där första Shrek filmen är ju helt underbar så just därför tycker jag mycket om att ha det här i min samling.

So it's time to show yellow polishes in our Golden Oldie Challenge. When I was looking through my box with yellows (which is not significant), I realized that I was not going to be able to keep up my goal and show a polish that still is easy to get the hands on. Because all the polishes in that box is once that has been discontinued or from companys that isn't making polishes anymore. 

I finally chose to show you OPI Fiercely Fiona from the quite spoken about Shrek collection that came out in the spring 2010. I myself have two polishes from the collection including this one.  This actually is possible to buy trough eBay and Amazon so it is not completely impossible but not that easy as many of the other polishes I've shown during the challenge. 

As I understand it this polish had a little unusual color when it came out. A yellow cream polish that is a bit dusty in color. Now I would like to say that it's a lot easier to get your hands on something similar. But it is still a very pretty yellow I think. It can also be that my bottle has lost a bit of it's color because I have seen swatches of this polish where it looks a lot more green toned. 

The formula is what one would expect of a yellow polish. A bit streaky and a bit rowdy to work with. Three layers and topcoat are needed to get it nice and even.

Although the polish may no longer be unique I still like it very much and that first Shrek film is quite wonderful so that is another reason for me to enjoy having this in my collection.
