Essie - Frock 'N Roll

Essie är ett märke som jag inte har så många lack ifrån. Synd egentligen för det finns väldigt många fina lack som kanske rent av kommer lite i skymundan bakom andra mainstream märken.

Idag har jag i alla fall ett Essie till er. Från deras höstkollektion 2015. Det här är Frock 'N Roll och jag bara älskar det här namnet!

Själva lacket är återigen ett sånt där som är lite svårt att bedöma färg på. Det ser mer gråaktig ut i flaskan, men när det kommer på nageln är det mer brunt åt det röda hållet. I flaskan ser skimret silvrigt ut, medans jag upplever det mer bronsigt på nageln.

Essie kan vara lite sisådär ibland när det gäller formulan, men det här var helt perfekt. Två lager med bra torktid och sen är du färdig. Ja, lite topplack på också.

Det här är lite märkligt för när jag visade Celestial Under Full Moon Light häromdagen vilket jag kan tycka har en lite liknande färg så var jag inte alls imponerad, men Frock 'N Roll gillar jag. Verkligen gillar. Och jag har ingen aning om varför faktiskt. Men jag rekommenderar det här helt klart.

Essie is a brand that I don't have so many polishes from. That is actually a shame because there are many beautiful polishes from this brand,  but maybe they have gotten a bit overshadowed behind other mainstream brands.

Well, today I will show you one from Essie. From their autumn collection 2015. This is Frock 'n roll and I just love this name!

The polish is again one of those who are a bit difficult to describe to color of. It looks more gray in the bottle, but when it comes on to the nail, it's more brown to the red side. In the bottle it looks like silvery shimmer, while I feel it becomes more like bronze shimmer on the nail.

Essie may be a little so-so at times when it comes to formula, but this was absolutely perfect. Two coats with good drying time and you're finished. Ok some topcoat too. 

This is a bit strange because when I showed Celestial Under Full Moon Light the other day, which I would say is a little similar to the color, I was not impressed at all, but Frock 'N Roll i really really like. And I have no idea why, actually. But I sure recommend this.

Cupcake Polish - What In Carnation?

Jag har inte något liknande det här i min samling det är jag helt säker på. Cupcake What In Carnation? är ljust turkost med holo. Jag har absolut turkosa lack i min samling, men inte något annat som är i denna nyansen och till det då också holo.

Det är inte mitt första Cupcake lack och jag har en del andra som står otestade också vilket känns riktigt trevligt för än så har inte märket gjort mig besviket när det gäller att måla med. Två lätta lager som torkade fort som vinden. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Som sagt unikt i min samling. Är väl kanske inte jättepepp på färgen en extremt kall och vintrig dag som det är när jag skriver det här, men oj vad fint det här kommer vara i sommar!

 

I don't have anything else like this in my collection of that I am absolutely sure. Cupcake Polish What In Carnation? is bright turquoise with holo. Of course I have other turquoise polishes, but not anything that is in this hue and above that holo.

It's not my first polish from Cupcake and I have some others who are untested, too, which feels really nice for so far this brand has not made me disappointed. It so easy to work with. Two layers that dried fast as the wind is enough. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

That said unique in my collection. When I'm writing this it's extremly cold outside so I really don't feel like wearing this kind of color, but just imagine how adorable this will be in the summer!

Colors By Llarowe - Stormy Seas

Colors By Llarowe Stormy Seas är ett sånt där lack som jag bara av att titta på flaskan inte alls blev så imponerad av. Faktum är att jag inte hade räknat med att tycka mer än att det var ok på naglarna. Men det här fick faktiskt lite mer dimension när det kom på naglarna än vad jag trott.

Lacket kommer från en av A Box Indied utgåvorna från förra sommaren, men jag köpte det i en grabbag när Llarowe skulle sluta sälja annat än sina egna lack. Det är ett hm, ljusare blått, men inte ljusblått lack med ett rosa skimmer.

Lacket var bra att jobba med, men tre lager tyckte jag krävdes för att få det att täcka och skillnaden i färgdjupet var ganska uppenbar så det sista lagret byggde upp lacket riktigt fint. På bilderna har jag topplack på.

Jag har inte hamnat i CbL hypen som var ett tag, men tycker att det finns riktigt fina lack från märket. Stormy Seas är nog inget jag hade köpt själv tror jag, men jag tycker ändå att färgen är tillräckligt unik och fin för att jag verkligen ska uppskatta det.

 

Colors by Llarowe Stormy Seas is one of those polishes that I by just looking at the bottle doesn't get that impressed by. In fact, my expectations were low. But this actually got a bit more dimension when it came on to the nails than I thought it would. 

The polish comes from one of the A Box Indied editions from last summer, but I bought it in a grabbag when Llarowe sold out because she would stop selling other brands than their own. It's a hm, brighter blue, but not a bright blue polish with a pink shimmer.

The polish was great to work with, but I thought three layers was needed to get it opaque and to be honest the difference in the color depth was pretty obvious with each layer I painted. So I say go for three because it makes the color deepen pretty much. In the pictures I have topcoat on.

I have not been caught up in the CbL hype that I felt was for a while,  but I do think there are some really nice polishes from the brand. Stormy Seas is probably nothing I had bought by just looking at the bottle I think, but I still think that the color is unique enough and very beautiful to genuinely appreciate it.

Reader's Choice - Treasures ByTan Purple Nurple

Men det här ser väl fint ut tänker säkert många när man ser dagens läsarnas val lack. Purple Nurple från Treasures By Tan och ja färgen är fin, men jag är inte imponerad.

På bilderna har jag fyra lager och jag kan ärligt säga att jag hade behövt ett till för att det ska bli riktigt bra, men fem lager tycker jag inte det är värt.

För låt oss vara helt ärliga. Det här är ett lite mörkare rödtonat lila holo en färg som jag tycker väldigt mycket om och om jag hade bara sett flaskan säkert tänkt att wow det där vill jag köpa. Nu för tiden inget speciellt unikt faktiskt, finns ganska många liknande. Men när jag sen börjar applicera och inser att de är så skirt att jag minst behöver fyra lager, då svalnar jag rejält. För att jag ska uppskatta ett lack som kräver så mycket måste det vara riktigt speciellt.

Torktiden då? Jo, den var väl ok, men inte så snabb som jag upplever att det normalt sett är på holos. På bilderna har jag topplack på också.

Nåväl, jag ska väl inte var tjurig hela tiden. Jag kan säga så här: Över ett annat lila lack hade det här förmodligen varit väldigt fint och färgen är det ju egentligen inget fel på. Den är fin.

Oh what a nice polish I guess a lot of you thinks when you see today's readers' choice polish. Purple Nurple from Treasures By Tan is the name of the polish and yes the color is nice, but I'm not impressed.

In the pictures I have four coats and I can honestly say that I had needed one more for it to be really good, but five coats? I don't think it's worth it.

Because let's be honest. This is a little darker redtoned purple holo a color that I like very much and if I had only seen the bottle I would surely think wow I want to buy that one. Nowadays a purple holo is nothing particularly unique in fact, there are quite a few like this on the market. But when I then begin to apply and realize that it's so delicate that I need at least four layers, well that takes down my enthusiasm pretty fast. For me to appreciate a polish that demands so much, it must be really special.

The drying time then? Well, it was ok, but not as quick as I feel that most holos are. In the pictures I have topcoat on too.

Well, this became a very grumpy post. I can say this: Over another purple polish this probably would have been very nice and the honestly it's nothing wrong with the color. No, that is really nice.

Superficially Colorful Lacquer - Eye Of The Storm

Det finns hur många Indiemärken som helst där ute på marknaden känns det som och jag tycker jag ser nya märken nästan varje dag, men ett märke som i alla fall jag tycker får lite för lite uppmärksamhet är Superficially Colorful Lacquer.

Märket har funnits i ca två år tror jag och även om jag inte gillat alla lack jag testat därifrån så har det aldrig varit för att det varit dålig kvalité oh nej, det har funnits några som jag inte tyckte om färgen på när jag väl målade med det själv.

Det jag visar idag heter Eye Of The Storm och jag tror att jag faktiskt vann det här vid något tillfälle i en giveaway. Det här är ett riktigt mörkt blått lack, mer åt jeansblått än marin skulle jag säga. Det är inte ett holo, men det finns absolut prismatiskt glitter i det.

Jag blev dock något förvånad över att jag faktiskt behövde tre lager för att känna att det här täckte ordentligt. Dock var det smidigt att lacka med även om det inte var supersnabb torktid, men inte något som inte lite topplack kan fixa.

Allt som allt så är det här ett väldigt fint lack. Absolut inget unikt, men jag gillar färgen och tycker speciellt den är kanonsnygg nu när naglarna är något kortare.

 

There are so many Indie Brands out there on the market and it almost feels like I see new brands every day, but one brand that I personally think do get a bit too little attention is Superficially Colorful Lacquer.

The brand has been around for about two years I believe, and although I have not liked all the polishes I've tried from them there has never been because it was poor quality oh no, there have been some that I didn't like the color of on my nails but nothing worse than that. 

The one I show today is called Eye Of The Storm and I believe that I actually won this at some point in a giveaway. This is a really dark blue polish more to jeansblue than marine I would say. It's not a holo, but there is absolutely prismatic glitter in it.

However, I was somewhat surprised that I actually needed three coats to feel that this covered properly. But, it was easy to paint with, even if it was not super fast drying but not something that a good topcoat wouldn't fix.

All in all, this is a very nice polish. Absolutely nothing unique, but I like the color and I think it looks pretty great on my at the moment pretty short nails.
