Turtle Tootsie Polishes (now Hearts & Promises) - Silent Night

 Tisdag igen och jag har ledig dag. Inga stora planer direkt, kanske baka en liten kaka att ta med till jobbet imorgon. Är fortfarande sjukskriven på 25 % och det ser inte ut att bli någon ljusning ännu på ett tag med min trötthet. Självklart ska jag ta mig ut på promenad också. 

Idag vill jag visa er ett väldigt vackert lack från ett märke som innan hette Turtle Tootsie Polishes och nu heter Heart & Promises. Tror jag köpte det här när Chrissy hade rebranding rea faktiskt. Lacket heter Silent Night och är ett underbart mörkblått holo. 

Två lager och så lite topplack, satt väldigt bra vill jag minnas. Och som sagt den här färgen är bara ljuvlig!

Tuesday again and I have the day off. No big plans, maybe bake a cake to take to work tomorrow. Still on sick leave at 25% and it doesn't look like there will be any changes yet for a while with my fatigue. Of course I'll go for a walk too.

Today I want to show you a very beautiful polish from a brand that used to be called Turtle Tootsie Polishes and is now called Heart & Promises. Think I bought this when Chrissy was having a rebranding sale actually. The polish is called Silent Night and is a wonderful dark blue holo.

Two layers and some topcoat, lasted really well on the nails I want to remember. And as I said, this color is just lovely!

My favourites from 2023!

 Traditioner är viktigt för mig och jag tycker att det är ok med små nödvändiga ändringar, som den jag gjorde förra året på bloggen gällande mina favoriter från förra året. För det är ju så att jag inte heller i år bloggat tillräckligt för att få ihop en lista med både favoriter av färger och finishar. Ni får istället mina fem favoriter från året som gått, och statistik så klart!

Jag har suttit och inventerat lack och min stashlist, så jag tror att den faktiskt just nu är ganska med verkligheten överensstämmande. Förra året kollade jag listans innehåll 2023-01-07, lacken som är med där är lack som jag köpt själv, fått i present eller PR-utskick som är visade på bloggen, i år blev det ett något senare datum, men inget har hänt under de här dagarna så det blir bra ändå. Som sagt i år blev det 2024-01-16 som sammanställningen gjorts. Låt oss då titta på fakta 2023-01-07 fanns det 1255 lack i min lista och hör och häpna, men 2024-01-16 är siffran 1176. Jag har alltså äntligen lyckats att banta ner min samling lite 79 lack mindre än förra året, det känns bra. Jag vill ju att de ska bli använda och älskade. Mitt mål för året är att fortsätta på inslagen bana, ge bort och slänga de som är utom räddning. 

År 2023 fick jag ett litet återfall och köpte några Zoya, annars så har jag mest skänkt bort lack till min svärdotters syskonbarn och till min svägerska som älskar lack och får ha det på jobbet. 

Låt oss fortsätta med lite statistik till. Under året har jag faktiskt bara haft 14 inlägg på bloggen, varav 12 är med unika swatches. 9 av dessa var med lack som jag fått i pressutskick. 8 av de här var svenska, alltså 67 % svensktillverkat. 

Nog med svammel, här kommer mina favoriter från år 2023, kommentera gärna om du delar favorit med mig eller vilka du själv har tyckt bäst om under året som gick. 

Traditions are important to me and I think it's ok with small necessary changes, like the one I made last year on the blog about my favorites from last year. Because it's the case that I didn't blog enough this year either to put together a list of both favorite colors and finishes. Instead, you get my five favorites from the past year, and statistics of course!

I've sat down and made an inventory of polishes and my stashlist, so I think it's actually pretty accurate right now. Last year I checked the contents of the list on 2023-01-07, the polishes that is in there is the ones that I bought myself, received as a gift or PR-samples that is shown on the blog, this year it was a slightly later date, but nothing has happened during these days so it doesn't make a difference. As said, this year it was 2024-01-16 that the compilation was made. Then let's look at the facts 2023-01-07 there were 1255 polishes in my list and to my surprise 2024-01-16 the number is 1176. So I have finally managed to slim down my collection a little,  79 polishes less than last year , it feels good. I want them to be used and loved. My goal for the year is to continue on this path, give away and throw away those that are beyond saving.

In 2023 I had a small relapse and bought some Zoya, otherwise I have mostly given polish away to my daughter-in-law's nieces and to my sister-in-law who loves polish and gets to wear it at work.

Let's continue with some more statistics. During the year, I have actually only had 14 posts on the blog, of which 12 are with unique swatches. 9 of these were with polishes that I received as PR-samples. 8 of these were Swedish, i.e. 67% Swedish-made.

 Då var det ledig tisdag igen, lite städning står på schemat och lite frisk luft, annars mest lugnt och skönt. 

Jag insåg när jag fixade till bilderna till dagens inlägg att jag använde det här lacket för över ett år sedan. Jag har alltså en hel del bilder liggande och väntande på att bli visade. 

I alla fall så är det här Turtle Tootsie Polishes Achieve IT! (numer Hearts & Promises) ett vackert svartlila holo. Det är ju som sagt ett tag sedan jag använde det, men normalt sett brukar lacken från Chrissy vara väldigt trevliga att jobba med så jag antar att detta också var det. 

Helt underbar färg tycker jag. Ett lack som absolut får stanna i min samling och som jag definitivt kan tänka mig att använda igen. 

So it's Tuesday again and my day off, some cleaning is on the schedule and some fresh air, otherwise mostly relaxing is on the schedule.

I realized when I was editing the pictures for today's post that I used this polish over a year ago. So I have a lot of pictures lying around waiting to be shown.

Anyway, this Turtle Tootsie Polishes Achieve IT! (now Hearts & Promises) a beautiful black purple holo. As I said, it's been a while since I used it, but normally Chrissy polishes are very nice to work with so I guess this was too.

Absolutely wonderful color I think. A polish that will definitely stay in my collection and that I can definitely imagine using again.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes - Hatchling #10

 Hoppas alla har en riktigt fin 1:a advent, jag har det i alla fall. Det tog sin lilla tid, men nu är alla ljusstakar och stjärnor på plats och huset är mysigt. En lussebulle har minsann slunkit ned också och julmusiken hörs i högtalarna. Jag har som tradition att absolut inte lyssna på julmusik förrän 1:a advent. 

Egentligen får jag inte ha målade naglar på jobbet, men ibland fuskar jag lite, vi sekreterare har ju inte någon direkt patientkontakt och imorgon är en fuskdag för vem vill inte ha röda naglar när det närmar sig jul?

Jag köpte ett gäng lack när Chrissy på Turtle Tootsie Polishes skulle byta namn på sitt företag och bland dessa var ett perfekt jullack. Det är ett lack som aldrig kom i produktion och heter därför helt enkelt Hatchling #10. Ett julrött lack med glitter i lite olika storlekar och former i. Lacket var ganska tjockt, men inte jobbigt att arbeta med. Jag har två lager och topplack på bilderna. 

Älskar röda lack! Det här är absolut inget undantag, så julig och fin röd färg och lite lagom glittrigt tycker jag. 

Hope everyone has a really nice 1st of Advent, I have it anyway. It took its little time, but now all the candlesticks and stars are in place and the house is cozy. A "lussebulle" has slipped down to my stomach as well and the Christmas music can be heard in the speakers. My tradition is to absolutely not listen to Christmas music until the 1st of Advent.

Actually, I am not allowed to have painted nails at work, but sometimes I cheat a little, we secretaries do not have any direct patient contact and tomorrow is a cheating day for who does not want red nails when Christmas is approaching?

I bought a bunch of polishes when Chrissy at Turtle Tootsie Polishes was going to rebrand the name of her company and among these was a perfect Christmas polish. It is a polish that never came into production and is therefore simply called Hatchling # 10. A Christmas red polish with glitter in slightly different sizes and shapes. The polish was quite thick, but not hard to work with. I have two coats and topcoat on the pictures.

Love red polishes! This is by no means an exception, such perfect Christmas red color and a just as much glitter as you need I think.

Second haul of the year!

 Det är ju inte riktigt meningen att jag ska köpa massa lack eftersom jag just nu använder så få, men ibland kan man inte låta bli. Turtle Tootsie Polishes skulle byta namn till Hearts and Promises och sålde ut flaskor med gamla loggan, så några fick flytta hem till mig. Sen fick jag syn på China Glaze Halloween kollektion och för första gången på väldigt länge fick jag ett riktigt habegär, så den kollektion plus ett lack från höstkollektionen fick också flytta hem till mig. Vi får se om jag lyckas hålla fingrarna i styr och låter bli att köpa mer lack i år. 

It's not really my intention to buy a lot of polishes because I currently use so few, but sometimes you can not help it. Turtle Tootsie Polishes was going to change its name to Hearts and Promises and sold out bottles with the old logo, so some had to move in with me. Then I saw the China Glaze Halloween collection and for the first time in a very long time I got a real desire to have polishes, so that collection plus a one from the autumn collection also had to move home to me. We'll see if I manage to keep my fingers in check and refrain from buying more this year.

My top polishes 2020 - Part 2

 Dags för del 2 av topplistan för 2020 där jag listar mina favoriter bland olika finishar. Det jag dock tycker är roligast med det här inlägget är att jag av tradition också brukar presentera hur min samling har ändrats över året. Har jag varit duktig och inte köpt så mycket eller inte?

När jag skriver det här inlägget är det exakt 1 år sedan jag skrev förra topplistan så siffrorna stämmer väldigt bra. Jag publicerade förra årets inlägg den 3/1 2020 och då var antalet lack i min samling 1246 i den siffran ingår lack som jag köpt själv, som jag fått i gåva av vänner och lack som jag fått som pressutskick och som är visade på bloggen. Det finns en hel del pressprover som inte hunnit visas och alltså inte är med i den här statistiken. Under året har jag också gett bort, kasserat och sålt en del lack. 

Idag är det den 4/1, men jag gick igenom min stashlist igår så det är alltså exakt 1 år mellan siffrorna. Listan består nu av 1190 lack, alltså en minskning med 56 lack sen förra året! Inte så konstigt faktiskt eftersom jag nu jobbar på ett ställe där jag inte kan bära lack och jag sålde av riktigt mycket lack i våras och min svägerska fick ett bra gäng också. Inköpen har varit väldigt få. Jag har faktiskt lite lack på ingående, men sen lär det inte bli mer såvida det inte kommer ut en superspeciell kollektion som jag bara måste ha. Under det gångna året har jag publicerat 83 unika swatcher och några nail art på det. Av dessa 83 var det 41 inlägg som bestod av lack som jag fått som pressprov. 

Hur går tankarna inför 2021 då? Inköpen ska fortsatt vara låga, inte för att jag inte har pengar nu, men jag vill gärna hinna använda de lack som står oanvända sedan länge innan det dyker in något nytt. Jag kan av naturliga skäl inte lacka lika mycket som tidigare, men jag känner att det är desto roligare när jag väl har helg och kan måla, så bloggen kommer fortsätta att leva och inläggen kommer nog fortsätta komma i ungefär samma takt som de gjort under hösten. Tycker själv att det känns mycket mer avslappnande med bloggandet nu. 

Nu får det vara slut på babblandet och dags för mina favoriter i olika finishar från 2020. 

Time for part 2 of the top list for 2020 where I list my favorites among different finishes. However, what I think is most fun with this post is that I traditionally also present how my collection has changed over the year. Have I been good or not has my collection grown too much or not?

When I write this post, it is exactly 1 year since I wrote the last top list so the numbers match very well. I published last year's post on January 3 2020 and then the number of polishes in my collection was 1246, that figure includes polishes that I bought myself, which I received as a gift from friends and polishes that I received as a press sample and which are shown on the blog. There are a lot of press samples that have not been shown and are therefore not included in these statistics. During the year, I also gave away, discarded and sold some bottles.

Today is the 4th of January, but I went through my stash list yesterday so it is exactly 1 year between the numbers. The list now consists of 1190 polishes, a reduction of 56 bottles since last year! No wonder actually because I now work in a place where I can not wear polish and I sold a lot of bottles this spring and my sister-in-law got a good bunch too. Purchases have been very few. I actually have some bottles on the way to me, but then it will not be more unless it comes out a super special collection that I just have to have. Over the past year, I have published 83 unique swatches and some nail art too. Of these 83, 41 posts consisted of polish that I received as a press sample.

How are my thoughts of 2021 then? Purchases should continue to be low, not because I do not have money now, but I would like to have time to use the ones that have been unused for a long time before something new appears. For natural reasons I can not wear polish as much as before, but I feel that it is all the more fun when I have a weekend and can paint, so the blog will continue to live and the posts will probably continue to come at about the same pace as they did in the fall . I think it feels much more relaxing with blogging now.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes - Countdown To Christmas 2019

 God Jul på er allihopa!

Jag kan inte precis påstå att jag tycker det känns som julafton idag. Vi firar hemma gubben och jag eftersom jag fortfarande räknas som pestsmittad. Att äta julbord i mjukisbyxor var i och för sig smidigt, men nej jag vill ha mina barn här. Men nu går ju inte det och det är bara att acceptera, det är ju för övrigt om jag ska vara elak vid mig själv mitt fel att inte yngste sonen är här. Äldste skulle varit här några dagar före jul, han jobbar nu. Yngste däremot skulle varit här med oss idag, men som tur är har han världens finaste sambo vars familj han nu är med istället. 

Nog om detta, även om man är sjuk och faktiskt har ganska jobbigt för att sitta uppe några längre stunder så har jag sett till att jag har snyggt lack på naglarna i alla fall. Det här lacket var med i förra årets Indie Countdown to Christmas adventskalender som jag hade. Det skulle jag även haft i år, men Postnord har gjort sitt allra bästa arbete för att jag inte skulle få den innan jul. Nåja lacket kommer från Turtle Tootsie Polishes och heter Countdown to Christmas 2019. Det är ett klassiskt julrött holo. Lite skirt så tre lager har jag för täckning, men jättebra att jobba med. 

Det kan faktiskt inte bli mer jul än så här på naglarna, eller det är väl om man gjort någon jul nail art, men det får bli till nästa år det. Jag är i alla fall så glad att jag åtminstone kan titta på mina naglar och njuta lite.

I can not exactly say that I think it feels like Christmas Eve today. We celebrate the old man and I at home because I am still considered infected with the plague. Eating Christmas food in soft pants was in itself convenient, but no I want my children here. But now it is not possible and it is just to accept, it is by the way if I should be mean to myself my fault that the youngest son is not here. The Elder would have been here a few days before Christmas, he's working now. The youngest, on the other hand, would have been here with us today, but fortunately he has the world's finest partner whose family he is now with instead.

Enough about this, even if you are sick and actually have quite a hard time sitting up for a few longer moments, I have made sure that I have a nice polish on my nails in any case. This polish was in last year's Indie Countdown to Christmas Advent calendar that I had. I would have had that this year too, but Postnord has done its very best work so that I would not get it before Christmas. Well, the polish comes from Turtle Tootsie Polishes and is called Countdown to Christmas 2019. It is a classic Christmas red holo. A little sheer so I have three layers for coverage, but great to work with.

It can actually not be more Christmas than this on the nails, or I guess it could if I had done some Christmas nail art as well, but that won't happen right now. In any case, I'm so happy that I can at least look at my nails and enjoy a little.

Turtle Tootsie Polishes - Leprechaun's Gold

 Jaha, då var det söndag igen. Igår var det något som kallas matrundan här i bygden. Många olika små matproducenter som höll öppet. Vi var runt hos några stycken och tittade lite. Vi var bland annat vid en gammal kvarn som drevs av vattenhjul. Väldigt fint i ordning och givetvis köptes det lite mjöl. Lite fotograferande blev det också. 

Idag tänker jag visa ett lack som satt på naglarna för någon vecka sedan, har inte riktigt haft tid att blogga, har börjat mitt "egentliga" jobb som ensam sekreterare på en neuroavdelning och är lite trött när jag kommer hem. Nåja, lacket är Turtle Tootsie Polishes Leprechaun's Gold ett lack som jag nog skulle vilja ha till grön metallic med lite prismatiskt glitter i. Jättebra att jobba med och två lager räcker fint. 

Det här lacket föll mig verkligen i smaken. Så himla fin grön nyans och det händer en hel del i det. Fantastiskt fint.

Well, then it was Sunday again. Yesterday there was something called the food round here in the countryside. Many different small food producers who kept their stores open. We were around a few and looked a bit. Among other things, we were at an old mill that was driven by water wheels. Very nice in order and of course some flour was bought. I also got to takes some nice photos. 

Today I am going to show a polish that was on my nails a few weeks ago, have not really had time to blog, have started my "real" job as the sole secretary of a neurology department and am a little tired when I get home. Well, the polish is Turtle Tootsie Polishes Leprechaun's Gold, a polish that I would probably like to say is a green metallic with a little prismatic glitter in. Great to work with and two coats are fine.

I really liked this polish. So heavenly nice green shade and a lot happens in it. Fantastically nice.

Annual Indie Countdown to Christmas Box

Jag fick som av en händelse syn på The Polish Nooks Annual Indie Countdown to Christmas box på Instagram och blev riktigt sugen på att få räkna ned de sista 12 dagarna innan jul med lite fina lack och nagelprodukter. Mina inköp under året har ändå varit rätt få. Tyvärr så tyckte inte Postnord att jag skulle få börja samtidigt som alla andra, men jag fick faktiskt boxen innan jul. Lacken och övriga presenter låg i en superfin låda och alla var inslagna i fina papper med datum på. Dessutom hade ägaren varit jättegullig och lagt med två extra lack också.

Tänkte att ni i alla fall skulle få se vad jag fick för fina grejer i min kalender, som jag för övrigt absolut kan tänka mig att köpa till nästa jul igen.

I came across of The Polish Nooks Annual Indie Countdown to Christmas box on Instagram and got really excited about counting down the last 12 days before Christmas with some nice polishes and nail products. My purchases during the year have nevertheless been quite few. Unfortunately, Postnord didn't think I should be able to start at the same time as everyone else, but I actually got the box before Christmas. The polishes and other gifts were in a super nice box and all were wrapped in fine paper with dates on. In addition, the owner had been very nice and added two extra polishes for me as well.

Thought you would like to see all the nice things I got in my calendar, which I can definitely imagine buying again next Christmas.

My Top Polishes 2019 Part 1.

I 8 år har jag nu gjort en sammanfattning på mina favoritlack som använts och visats här på bloggen, något som i alla fall jag tycker har blivit en kul tradition. Precis som föregående år har jag valt att göra två eller faktiskt tre olika listor. En för mina favoritfärger, en för finishar och en för nail art.

Traditioner är viktiga för mig så därför gör jag som vanligt och börjar med mina favoriter i olika färgkategorier. Och precis som vanligt så är det alltså inte bara lack som släppts 2019 som jag väljer bland utan alla som jag visat på bloggen oavsett releasedatum.

Då kör vi, kommentera gärna om något av lacken också är med på din favoritlista eller om du känner att något saknas i din samling.

For 8 years now I have made a summary of my favorite polishes used and shown here on the blog, which at least I think has become a fun tradition. Just like recent years, I have chosen to make two or actually three different lists. One for my favorite colors, one for finishes and one for nail art.

Traditions are important to me so that's why I as usual and start with my favorites in different color categories. And just as usual, it is not only the polishes that was released in 2019 that I choose from, but everyone that I have shown on the blog regardless of the release date.
