Nailart Sunday - Motivation

Angelica har valt Motivation som dagens tema för Nailart Sunday. Ett ämne som man kan tolka absolut hur som helst.

Vad är motivation för mig? Det beror ju på. När det gäller bloggen så är ju motivationen att få feedback tillbaka. Alltså kommentarer, besökare och följare. För självklart är det roligare att blogga när man ser att det faktiskt är någon som läser bloggen.

I mitt privatliv har det ju varit ett jobbigt år och motivationen att ens gå upp på morgonen har varit svag, men nu är jag starkt på gång tillbaka igen. Något som motiverat mig och fått mig att må väldigt bra är fotografering. Vi bor mitt ute på landet och hela min trädgård är en stor motivation till att ta foton och så också skogen som vi äger och nästan bor i.

Därför blir det inte så mycket naglar idag utan faktiskt lite andra foton också.

Men om vi börjar med naglarna så kände jag för en glad manikyr när jag skulle vinka av sonen som är på studieresa i Berlin och sen på grillfest hos min chef. Vad har det med motivation att göra då? Jo, glada naglar får mig på bra humör och då får jag mer motivation till annat.

Basen är Chirality Katydid som jag visade i fredags och sen har jag använt Konads svarta stampinglack och ett mönster från Bundle Monster #304. Poshe över förstås.

What is motivation for me? It depends on. As for this blog  the motivation is of course to get feedback. Feedback as in getting comments, visitors and followers. For of course it's more fun to blog when you see that it's actually someone who reads the blog.

In my personal life, it's been a hard year and the motivation to even get up in the morning has been weak, but now I am back on track and feeling pretty good again. Something that has motivated me and made me feel good is photography. We live in the country side and all over my garden I can find great motivation to take photos and so too the woods that we own and almost live in.

Therefore, this post becomes not so much about nails today but actually about other kinds of photos too.

But if we start with the nails. I felt for a happy manicure when I was waving goodbye to my son who went to Berlin with his school and after that I went to a bbq at my boss. What has this to do with motivation you might think? Well, happy nails puts me in a good mood and then I get more motivation to do other things.

The base is Chirality Katydid that I showed this Friday and then I used Konad black stamping polish and a pattern from Bundle Monster # 304. And Poshe on top.

Holofredag - Chirality Katydid

Inte nog med att det är Sveriges Nationaldag idag det är också Skimmerskuggans holofredag! Nu kan man ju då kanske tycka att jag skulle visa en blå/gul manikyr en sån här dag, men det gör säkert många andra så jag vill istället påminna alla om den fantastiska grönskan som vi nu har i vår natur. Något som jag älskar vårt land för.

Lacket jag väljer att visa idag är Chirality Katydid. Ni har hört det förut och kommer få höra det många gånger till, men varför har jag inte använt det här innan?

Eftersom jag fick det här av en av tjejerna i födelsedagsgruppen så vet jag ju med säkerhet att det stått i lådan nästan ett helt år. Det är något lite skirt, men jag tyckte ändå att det räckte med tre lager. Torktiden var helt normal och jag har valt att visa det utan topplack, för jag fick lite idéer när jag hade lackat på det här.

Katydid är ett ljust grönt hololack. Visste ni förresten att Katydid är en typ av insekt? Från samma familj som gräshopporna och med tanke på det så tycker jag att färg och namn passar utmärkt ihop. Holoeffekten är inte superframträdande, men ack så vacker.

Jag blir glad av den här typen av färg. Gillar den alldeles väldigt mycket måste jag säga. Så med detta önskar jag er alla en riktigt trevlig Nationaldag!

Not only is Sweden's National Day today, it is also Skimmerskuggans holofriday​​! Well, you might think that perhaps I should have shown a blue/yellow manicure a day like this, but my guesses is that a lot of other Swedish bloggers will do that so I would instead like to remind everyone about the amazing greenery that we now have in our nature. Something that I love about my country.

The polish I choose to show you today is Chirality Katydid. You have heard it before and will hear it many times more but why have not I used this before?

Since I got this from one of the girls in the birthday group, I know for certain that it has been in the drawer for almost a year. It is a bit sheer, but I still thought it was enough with three layers. The drying time was completely normal and I have chosen to display it without topcoat because I got some ideas when I had painted with this...

Katydid is a bright green holographic polish. Did you know that Katydid is a type of insect? From the same family as the locusts  and given that I think the color and the name is a great fit. The Holo in it isn't super prominent, but oh so beautiful.

I always gets happy when I'm wearing this type of shades on polishes. Like it quite a lot I must say. So with that I wish you all a very enjoyable National Day!

United In Grey - Chirality Emo Party

Dag två av United In Grey är här och idag har jag plockat fram ett lack som jag har fått genom ett byte.

Lacket heter Chirality Emo Party. Ett grått ganska intressant lack måste jag säga. I flaskan ser det ut som ett krämlack med glitter i, men när jag tittar på mina egna bilder inser jag att det även finns lite prismatiskt glitter i det. Glittren är i rött och svart och tyvärr så var det som vanligt att det var svårt att fiska upp de större glittren ur flaskan vilket medför att jag inte har ett enda svart att visa er. Nu tycker jag i och för sig att det kanske är snyggare utan dom, men en swatch ska väl innehålla alla lackets beståndsdelar kanske.

I alla fall så kund jag sluta på två lager för täckningen var bra. Lacket var något lite tjockt kanske i konsistensen, men ändå lättlackat och torkade fort gjorde det också. Jag har ett lager med Poshé över.

Jag måste säga att jag gillar det här lacket riktigt mycket. Tycker det är kul och lite annorlunda. Några kommer nog tycka att glittren drunknar lite i basen och ja, det gör dom nog, men det stör mig inte i det här fallet.

Nu några ord om temat också. United In Grey är ju inte bara en kul grej som jag hittade på för att vi nagelbloggare och Instagrammare skulle samlas utan det har ju även ett syfte att få oss att kanske fokusera även på andra cancersorter än dom som ständigt samlas in pengar till och syns i tidningarna. Just det gråa bandet står ju bland annat för Hjärncancer eller Hjärntumörer.

Vi vet ju alla att Cancer är vår tids folksjukdom och tyvärr är hjärntumörer och tumörer i ryggmärg den vanligaste cancerformen som drabbar barn. Men givetvis inte de enda som kan drabba yngre, men enligt statistik så utgör det här ca 21% av cancerformerna som drabbar barn. Den här informationen hittade jag här. Så därför känns det extra viktigt för mig att uppmärksamma detta.

Day two of United In Grey is here and today I picked up a polish that I've gotten through a swap.

The polish is Chirality Emo Party. A gray rather interesting polish I must say. In the bottle it looks like a creme polish with glitter in, but when I look at my own photos, I realize that there is also a little prismatic glitter in it. The glitter is in red and black and unfortunately it was as usual difficult to fish the larger glitters out of the bottle, which means that I do not have a single black to show you. It doesn't really bother me but a swatch should in my opinion contain all the constituents of the polish.

I could stop at two layers because the coverage was good. The polish was maybe a bit thick, yet easy to apply and dried quickly as well. I have a layer of Poshe over.

I must say I like this polish a lot. Think it's fun and a little different. Some will probably think that the glitter drowns a little in the bass and yes, they do, but it does not bother me in this case.

Now a few words about the theme as well. United In Grey is not just a fun thing I decided to do so that we nailblogers and Instagrammers would gather but it also has the purpose to get us to maybe focus on other cancer forms than those who are constantly collected money to and visible in the newspapers. The gray ribbon is the symbol for Braincancer and Braintumor awereness.

We all know that cancer is the scourge of our time and unfortunately, brain tumors and tumors of the spinal cord is the most common form of cancer that affects children. But of course not the only form of cancer that can affect younger, but according to statistics provided this kind of cancer is about 21 % of cancers that affect children. This information I found here. So therefore it is extra important for me to pay attention to this .

Chirality - Cropsy

Ett annat av lacken som Katarina skickade till mig var glitterbomben Cropsy från Chirality.

Svagt orange bas som sen är full med röda glittercirklar, oregelbundna glitter i guld, prismatiskt glitter och guld hexagoner. Som sagt en glitterbomb! Det här skulle säkert göra sig bra över svart, men jag hade ju redan (S)cream Queen på så därför fick den bli basen.

Jag tänker inte säga att jag tycker det är snyggt, men kul är det! Det händer så mycket med dom här glittren och det är ju så mysiga färger ihop.

Tror inte man kan använda det på egen hand, men så här på något annat blir det en härlig effekt.

Att det sen är lätt att lacka med skadar ju inte. Inga problem alls med att få glittren att sprida ut sig över nageln. Jag har två lager och ett lager Poshé på bilderna.

Another of the polishes that Katarina sen me was the glitter bomb Cropsy from Chirality.

Pale orange base which is then filled with red glitter circles, irregular glitter in gold, prismatic glitter and gold hexagons. That said a glitter bomb! This would certainly do well over black, but I already had (S)cream Queen on so that is the base for this.

I'm not saying that I think it's beautiful, but it's fun! There is so much happening with the glitters and it's so cozy colors together.

I don't think you can use this on it's own, but like this over something else it becomes a lovely effect.

And the fact that it's easy to paint with does not hurt. No problems at all with getting the glitters to spread out over the nail. I have two layers and a layer of Poshe on the pictures.

Chirality - (S)cream Queen

Hemma och försöker hålla tyst så att jag får full röststyrka tillbaka. Kan behövas när man har ett jobb som innebär telefonkontakt med kunder. I alla fall så förgylldes dagen en del när det låg ett paket från Edgy Polish i brevlådan.

Förutom dom lacken som jag beställt låg där även ett par stycken som Katarina skickat med för att jag ska få prova och bland annat det jag visar er idag.

Chirality (S)cream Queen från nya Nails From The Crypt kollektionen. Ett intressant lack må jag säga. I flaskan ser det mörkt ut. Jättemörkrött eller nästan brunt. Första lagret på nageln blev typ lila. Efter tre lager så finns det en liten lila kant kvar nederst på nageln och det har mest med att jag förmodligen inte överlappat lagren tillräckligt väl att göra. Resten är Brunrött. Som riktigt intorkat blod.

Jag tycker det var lite knepigt att applicera, kanske för att jag inte är kompis med jellylack. Även om jag nog skulle vilja kalla det här för crelly. Man får lägga på ganska tjock i nederkanten på nageln och sen dra det uppåt för att få bäst och jämnast resultat. Tre lager räcker gott och väl.

Färgen då. Min första tanke var: Nä, det här var ju för brunt för mig, men.. Ju mer jag tittar på det här desto mer tycker jag om det. På mina bilder ser ni det utan topplack. Det är helt otroligt glansigt och fint och en väldigt trivsam färg. En snygg och proper färg. Vad ska jag säga. Den känns nästan lite lyxig på något sätt. Jag gillar hur mina naglar ser ut i den i alla fall. Lite brunare än på bilderna upplever jag nog det i verkligheten.

At home and trying to keep quiet so that I get full strenght in my voice back. May be needed when you have a job that involves telephone contact with customers. In all cases, the day got a lot better when I got a package from Edgy Polish in the mailbox.

Besides they polishes that I ordered there was also a couple of bottles that Katarina sent for me to review including the one I show you today.

Chirality (S)cream Queen from the new  Nails From The Crypt collection. An interesting paint I must say. In the bottle it looks really dark. Very dark red or almost brown. The first layer painted on the nail looked kind of purple. After three layers , there is a small purple border left on the bottom of the nail and that is mostely because I probably didn't overlapped the layers well enough. The end result looks brownishred. That really looks like dried blood .

I think it was a little tricky to apply , perhaps because I'm not friends with jelly polishes. Although I probably would call this a crelly . You need to put on quite thick at the bottom of the nail and then pull it up to get the best and most consistent results. Three layers is more than enough .

The color then. My first thought was : Nah, it was really to brown to me, but .. The more I look at this the more I like it. On my pictures you can see it without topcoat . It 's amazing shiny and nice and a very pleasant color. A stylish and neat color. What should I say. It almost feels luxurious in any way. I like how my nails look into it anyway. I do think it looks a bit more brown in reality than on the pictures.

Holofredag - Chirality Just Before Dawn

Jag har ett bra tag varit på jakt efter ett oranget hololack. Idag denna holofredag visar jag er mitt första bidrag på vägen till det perfekta oranga holot.

Förra veckan visade jag också ett Chirality lack inköpt från Edgy Polish så även denna fredagen. Bloodshot var lite knepigare i formulan, men Just Before Dawn uppförde sig exemplariskt. Det är en ganska ljus färg så jag har tre lager på. Torktiden var alldeles utmärkt. Över det hela har jag ett lager av Poshé.

Jag skriver ett bidrag på vägen för jag är inte riktigt framme än. Det här lacket är helt klart orange, men med en hel del bruna och guldiga toner i sig. Jag vill ha superorange! I vilket fall som helst så är det ett mycket vackert lack och det faktum att det är mycket lätt att applicera gör ju inte saken sämre. Precis som med de andra Chirality lacken är det ingen superholo, men det vet ni ju sen innan att jag struntar i. Tycker jag om färgen är det inte nödvändigt med några dunder regnbågar. Är jag mindre svag för färgen däremot då ska det vara holo av bara tusan för att jag ska gilla det.

Nu är ju frågan känner ni till några fler oranga holos förutom det här, Jade Uau! och Literary Lacquers More Like Fire Than Light?

I have for some time been looking for a true orange holopolish. Today on Kerstin's holofriday ​​I will show you my first contribution on the way to the perfect one.

Last week I also showed a Chirality polish purchased from Edgy Polish so even this Friday. Bloodshot was a bit trickier in the formula, but Just Before Dawn behaved exemplary. It's a fairly light color so I have three layers on. The drying time was really excellent. Over it all, I have a layer of Poshe.

I did write that this is my first test of a polish on my way to the perfect orange because I'm not quite there yet. This polish is definitely orange, but with a lot of browns and golden tones in it. I want a super orange! In any case, it's a very beautiful coat and the fact that it is very easy to apply, does not make things worse. As with the other Chirality polishes it's no superholo, but you know I really don' care! If I like the color, it's not necessary with some super rainbows. If I am less fond of the color on the other hand it needs to be a really strong holoeffect for me to like it.

So my question for you is: Do you know of any other orange holos other than this, Jade Uau! and Literary Lacquers More Like Fire Than Light?

Holofredag Chirality - Bloodshot

Tänka sig att det redan är fredag igen och solen skiner vilket fick mig att springa ut och fota lite extra bilder på dagens bidrag till Holofredagen. När jag målade med Chirality Bloodshot häromkvällen så var det då rakt ingen sol! Därav också anledningen att det är lite tipwear på vissa bilder.

Jag visar alltså lack nummer två av varianten blodröd idag och det kan bero på att det är en färg som jag verkligen tycker om. Chirality Bloodshot är så pass mörkt att det i skuggan nästan ser lite brunaktigt ut och för att vara lite småvidrig mer som torkat blod om ni förstår.

Om man kan kalla det för hololack kan väl vara tveksamt, men härligt prismatiskt glitter är det i alla fall fullt av. Lite som Zoya Blaze fast mörkare.

Lacket var helt ok att måla med, men knepigare än det första Chirality som jag testade. Första lagret hade faktiskt lite holosjuka tendens och det hade förmodligen inte varit fel med Aqua Base under. Däremot var det inte så att att andra lagret försökte dra med sig färgen från det första utan det var mycket smidigare att måla med. Två lager varar det ena var ganska tjockt räckte gott för täckning. 

Allt som allt är jag helnöjd med lacket och jag har fortfarande ett kvar av märket att testa. Chirality hittar du hos Edgy Polish och det var där jag hittade den här suveräna färgen.

It's already friday again and the sun was shining outside my window when I woke up and that made me grab my camera and ran outside to take some daylight photos of todays contribution for Skimmerskuggans Holofriday. So that is the reason why there are some tipwear on some of the pictures. I worn this polish a couple of days.

This is the second bloodred polish I show you this week and that is because I have become a big fan of this kind of color. Dark, vampy and wonderful. This is so dark that it actually in the shadow looks a bit brown. Like dried blood....

If Chirality Bloodshot can be called a true holo might be doubtful, but at least it's ful of prismatic glitter a bit like Zoya Blaze I think but darker.

This was a bit more difficult to apply than the last Chirality I tried. The first layer almost had a stroke of "holosickness" you know were you get bald spots if you don't apply very fast and light handed. The second layer however was no problems with. But I do think it is a good idea to use Aqua Base underneath it. Two layers is as I said enough for coverage.

I love the color of the polish and I'm still curious about this brand. I have another from Chirality to try in my drawer. You can find Chirality at Edgy Polish both this and a lots of other colors.

Chirality är ett märke som jag varit nyfiken på ganska länge och när jag fick det här i ett utskick från Katarina på Edgy Polish blev jag överlycklig.

Att det sen råkade vara väldigt nära till Skimmerskuggans holofredag gjorde ju inget heller :)

När jag provar hololack från märken jag aldrig testat förut brukar jag alltid börjar med att prova med ett vanligt baslack för att se om dom lider av holosjuka eller inte. Jag äger ett Aqua Fix, men jag tycker spontant att det är lite tråkigt att behöva använda speciella baslack för att kunna använda vissa lack.

Jag kan härmed lugna eller fullkomligt när det gäller Chirality här behövs minsann inte något Aqua Fix för att få det att flyta lätt på nageln. Formulan var ganska tjock, men det gillar ju jag så alltså passande den mig utmärkt. Det var absolut inga problem att få det att täcka på två lager. Torktiden var också bra och lacket torkade väldigt glansigt för att vara ett holo.

Ibland märker man att holoeffekten blir mindre när man lagt på topplack, det var inte heller ett problem här. Precis lika fint med topplack som utan.

Färgen då? Alltså det är sällan jag nästan blir lite ledsen när jag ska ta bort ett lack, men jag kände nästan så om det här. Helt fantastiskt mörkblått lack med en väldigt tydlig holo i sig. Och det bästa är att det var minst lika snyggt i skugga. Vilket jag tycker är nästan nödvändigt för ett bra holo.

Så är det ju namnet också. Jag googlade runt lite och vad jag förstår så är det någon typ av kemisk beteckning för en kopparjon eller något liknande. Kemi var inte mitt bästa ämne!

Jag har köpt två andra lack från Chirality och jag ser verkligen fram emot att prova dom också. Är dom lika bra som det här så blir det mer inköpta.

Chirality kan man alltså köpa via Edgy Polish där finns det många andra fina färger utöver det jag visar här idag.

Chirality is a brand that I have been curious about for quite some time and when I got this from Katarina at Edgy Polish for a review, I was overjoyed.

When I try holopolishes from brands I've never tried before, I usually always start by trying with a regular base coat to see if they suffer from holosicknes or not. I own an Aqua Fix, but I do spontaneously think that it's a bit sad to have to use special base coat to use some polishes.

I can completely calm you down about this when it comes to Chirality because this certainly does not need any Aqua Fix to get it to flow easily on the nail. The formula was pretty thick, but I like that for me it was excellent. There was absolutely no problem getting it to cover in two layers. The drying time was also good and the polish dried very glossy to be a holo.

Sometimes you find that the effect of the holo becomes less when you put the topcoat on, it was not a problem here. Just as nice with topcoat as without.

The color then? So it's rare that I almost get a little sad when I remove a polish, but I almost felt like that with this one. Absolutely amazing dark blue coat with a very clear holo itself. And the best part is that it was at least as good in shade. Which I think is almost necessary for a good holo.

And then there is the name.. I googled around a bit and as I understand it is some type of chemical term for a copper ionization or something like that.. Chemistry was not my best subject!

I have bought two other polishes from Chirality and I'm really looking forward to trying them too. If they are  as good as this I will definitly buy more.
